The Werris Creek intermodal freight depot was opened in May 2019, and is the third intermodal freight terminal operated by Crawford Freightlines. The two other sites are located in Sandgate & Goulburn.
The intermodal freight terminal in Werris Creek was developed in the old Werris Creek Railway Yards, and enables the loading & unloading of 900m of train, as well as providing stabling facilities for 1270m of train. The creation of the intermodal freight terminal, has provided easy access for the surrounding district to Port Botany, with three return services operating per week, and has reinvigorated the railway town of Werris Creek.
