Extracting Broken Bolts & Studs By Welding | Easy Broken Bolt Extraction
Easy bolt removal when penetrating fluid and vice grips just won’t cut it!
Using a mig welder to remove broken bolts will save you lots of time and frustration! These simple easy steps will not only just work for vintage restorations, but anywhere where you have broken studs on manifolds, cylinder heads and floors pan.
Whether you are retoring an old dodge power wagon, jeep, or any vintage car restoration this is a must know tip!
✅Regulate your temperature based on stud size.
✅Let it cool slightly before removing
💪🏻Move the nut back and forth severely times to avoid shearing the stud.

@@jacquespoirier9071 The old iron always needs a little TlC. It’s also important to make sure that you have the right zinc, additive, or a diesel oil with the high zink content to prolong the engine life .

got it! Thanks for the jack tip. Mine absolutely wouldn't come off any other way. I had to do it 3 separate times on each side, each one only getting it a cm or so up more each time for some more PB blaster. However, after the 3rd time both of them slid out! Also, thanks for the grease tip! Hopefully that'll help get them back off in the future!

5 mins in and I’m gonna point a couple things out. 1st fold your mirrors in to help avoid damage and to not have it in your way. 2nd, under your cargo mat in the back where that Jack is stored, is the proper storage slots for your door hinge bolts, and hard top bolts as well. Use it so you don’t lose them or misplace them. When I had this issue and I usually have it often as we get harsh winters. The dealership told me to coat the hinge pins with lithium grease.

Keyfobs are designed to be a money pitt for Ram customers, what a joke! Some kid must have designed them…makes me sorry I bought a Ram…

I would skip the booster. Any of the Power Wagons I have driven in did not need it.

Hold that bolt with a pair of pliers and keep your hands away completely instead.
It wasn't for the air to fuel ratio. It was to keep the carburetor from icing up. Carburetor ice will stall the engine.
Thanks for your comment, karry. Correct. It’s an improved efficiency on the air to fuel ratio by adjusting the warm air to the intake manifold keeping the air warmer. As you pointed out, it certainly minimize the condensation/icing for the winter. Though, I don’t plan on using the truck much in the winter I definitely want to give it a try!
Even 15 to 20 minutes every day. Add it up over the course of a year.

It should be a Dealers Number. Ford and Chevrolet did it alot in Brazil. And the number painted like it was in that truck is very similar to what they did here in Brazil.

An impact driver & hammer will make short work of the drum retaining screws.
Definitely something I have tried. On this particular assembly heat was my only resort. Thanks for tuning in!

What about super glue? Would that work too? Idk where to buy what you used
Hello Erik Super Glue would not work and actually cause an adverse effect. You can buy the RTV silicon I used from any auto parts store: Auto Zone, NAPA. Walmart may actually even sell it as well. Hope that helps.

Great tips, thank you. I was afraid to get the jack out and start bending stuff. You stressed moderation and patience, and that's what did it for me. Just a little bit at a time. I'm the second owner on this 2013, and I don't think the previous owner ever had the doors off. Now it is truly quick off, quick on.
