Absolutely wonderful sailed from Rome. Ship was amazing,food amazing,staff amazing. Getting off the ship is up to you and what your prepared to do.we loved it
That wasn't the point. The cruise ship excursions (provided by Royal Caribbean) weren't quite as advertised.

June of 2022; I don't remember the seas being noticeably rough at any point in the cruise. I hope you enjoy your cruise!

The staffs and the service were terrible. Not even 1 star 😂

Yeah, it’s just not worth it. At the end of the day, you’re not getting an exceptionally different experience as you would on other Royal Caribbean ships, but the price for the Icon is exceptionally more.
cheapest icon sailing is $1700 a person and its in september 2026 LOL

This flight is very special. It is the only flight from Geneva to the USA. It’s also interesting because it the flight crew and passengers are mostly “regulars”, and lots of the crew are friends with the passengers. The crew on this route always provides impeccable 5-star service, and the size/configuration of the UA 763 is perfect for this route.

wait, how did you get access to the polaris lounge on a domestic flight?
As long as you have a long haul international flight on your itinerary, you can access it. So since our tickets were from Chicago to Rome, we could access the Polaris lounge in Chicago.

One of the reasons why it's not always a good idea to fly in 1st/business class.

Thanks for sharing. Perhaps on your next flight you could share some of the Polaris amenities - such as a tour of the seat area, legroom, etc., I flew "Club World" on British Airways EWR-LHR. The seat made the flight, super comfortable, especially after you have been used to squirming around an economy seat for 8 hours. The food was "meh" at best, service was OK, but could have been better. Hate the idea of spending 3X the economy ticket for the seat, but damn, the seat was worth it! Hoping to try more business class services from other airlines, especially the UAL Polaris experience! Thanks again!

Thank you for sharing your trip here. I noticed your trip was a 2 stop connection. In finding reservations was there a direct flight from Denver to Washington? Maybe that direct flight to Washington was too late for the connection to Rome? And I am glad you and your wife were able to go to the Polaris Lounges. Yes, it is always nice to go to the membership lounges before and sometimes after flights. We'll, I hope you are able to go back to Rome again soon. It is very nice there!
So our ticket to Rome was actually from Chicago and involved the connection in DC. We flew to Chicago on a separate ticket because going from Chicago to Rome rather than Denver to Rome saved us quite a bit of money.

Qq - It seemed that it took 50 seconds from throttle to liftoff. Is that normal for a 767?
For a long haul flight when there’s a lot of fuel on board, yes.
I was on a fully-loaded B787-10 to LHR a couple of weeks ago. Spool up of engines @ 0:00, we rotated @ 0:48 and the mains left the ground @ 0:51.

Just curious, if you had experiences flying first class seats in Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar, Cathay Pasific, ANA, JAL and Etihad Airways, will still call that’s first class in this video?
I have not flown any of those airlines. Most of my travels are on North American and European Star Alliance airlines. As this was a domestic flight, this class of service is called “United First”. I found it to be good enough for the 6 hour and 30 minute flight.
