    Was in the market for a new commercial mower, but since no one any longer offers carbureted motors, I'm gonna buy used. I want something that's going to last and that I can fix myself(and usually in the field). Old school: Worst case scenario: You buy another carb for $50 (or rebuild yours for $15). New: They have as many sensors and components as a modern car! And I'm not spending hundreds on diagnostic equipment for ONE mower! More complexity=more to go wrong. Electronics do not do well with dirt and moisture..and goodness knows, they will get exposed to a lot of that on a mower! These mowers will not be viable 10 or 15 years down the road like my old ones are! Any advantage of buying new has now been negated- Not to mention that there's so much plastic everywhere now! The engine cover; air cleaner housing...everything. I'll keep my $9K in my pocket thank you very much! These manufacturers had better get with it if they want to stay in business.

    Just had to replace and clean the crank shaft position sensor marks on flywheel and get a new sensor just died. Problems that I seen was and rough idles no matter what I did. New spark plugs. Still misfired with a new electric fuel pump still had misfire. I even put new spark plugs. Same problem.

    I have a Wright ZK with the Vanguard 37 EFI and have had a couple of issues with it. Regarding the codes...I believe if you have a machine like a Ferris, they have a MIL light built in. So you can turn the key on/off/on/off/on and it should blink the codes (look them up in the Vanguard repair manual which can be found on their website). My Wright does not have a MIL light. However, I looked in the Vanguard manual and noticed that there is an ORANGE wire with BLACK stripe that is down on the bottom harness (6 or 8 wires?) on the right side of the engine while standing on the mower. I took a simple test light from Oreillys (with the metal point on it) and connected the alligator clip side to an open connector tied to the ignition switch (orange wire for power) under the operator controls and pushed the pointed end onto the black/orange wire/connector on the engine harness. I did the same on/off/on/off/on of the ignition and it blinked the codes...which in my case was it had none for the valve seat issue noted below. My Vanguard had a hard start when I got it, so I had to adjust the crank position sensor as I found in a forum. I have had no issues with that since. However, 2 weeks ago we stopped the engine at high idle and blew out the valve seats in the right side which cost me $1000 to get fixed. They have redesigned the heads because it is a known issue and suggest you replace both heads.

    I’m having so many issues wanting to buy a 2020 Turf Tiger with the 37 Vanguard Engine. I keep hearing problems , and that’s why I canceled buying it. It has 1215 hours on it. Damn, I wanted that mower so bad, but it’s just for a Farm, and I don’t need more problems.

    I am having problems with my stander ZK efi 37hp its surging bad and the certified dealer can’t figure out why. Any pointers on how to fight with Briggs on switching to carb kaw its still under warranty under 500hrs on the unit

    Have a 37hp EFI vanguard on a mudbuddy shallow drive, 6 years work it hard fishing in spring, summer. Break ice during duck season. Nothing but change oil once a year. No issues.

    My 28 is exactly 3 yrs old and has under 200 hrs. Wont run more than half throttle. Idles and starts fine. Any ideas.

    My 37efi runs great for a couple hrs than all of a sudden seems to have a loss of power where it will barely pull itself up the hill,do u think that could be a coil

      Fuel pump is falling more than likely. Mine did this as well.

    I can feel your pain brother thank you for sharing brother❤ I have a new igx800 Honda 28 horsepower on my 10 gallon a minute pressure washer and I've done replaced the rectifier both ignition coils now I'm having to replace the fuel pump high side and low side the engine have less than 120 hours I replace the throttle body gasket fuel injection gaskets a lot of this new smartech engines these manufacturers need to do more testing before they start selling to the public great video thanks for sharing

    Update* 258 hours the the rectifier failed completely and battery brand new died 4 days later and no engine start. Found problem rectifier wiring harness failed and caused the rectifier to short out from the two wires short to each other(yellow wires). Replaced rectifier and separated the wires off the stator coming from under the flywheel. Hope helps fix battery going dead.

    Stay tuned. I will be posting my conversion to the fuel pump setup I did with part numbers and links to where to buy. I will show in that video of the full setup I did with the installation video. No more falling pump problems and 38 to 40 psi maintained with no slouching psi pressures. Also, it will be showing with diagnostic tool and how they work what it consist of. How to reprogram the delphi brain. Also, perimeters that are default and the show my edits. This works on almost all efi briggs and kolar engines. 👍

      I am interested in your video conversion to the fuel pump setup. I have this same issue at the moment, it wont start back up. Thought it was the fuel pump again and but I was still getting 58-48 PSI. Took the Fuel pump apart to clean it and I hope it still works when i put it back together.

    Also fixed a cracked fuel rail at the t going to the fuel injectors. Replaced the line with a 5/16 presure fitting like the shark bit style. Broght, the fuel line out the front replaced the t fitting and made the damb lines same lengths from one fuel injector to the other, and now this engine runs better than the day i bought new. Do this upgrade. u won't regret it. Remember to add a high-pressure fuel filter on the fuel injector side. I used a nissan 4 banger gas filter and works like a champ good luck thx for watching.     BRIGGS AND STRATTON EFI VANGUARD. PROBLEMS TO BE AWARE OF AND HOW TO FIND ISSUE AND REPAIR. Also check ur fuel pressure if you can. Should be 38 max I have ran 40 psi. Also check ur pressure fitting especially if you run the motor and after say 30 minutes of running motor starts to missfire you probably have a bad pressure fitting located at the electronic fuel pump and this is due to vibration that cases fitting to fail. I have figured how to convert their stupid 400 dollar pump to a car fuel pump at auto parts store and working. going to make a video on my easy cheap 50 dollar fix. 😆 sorry briggs u just lost 350.
