Spring 2024 has been interesting to say the least. As a result, I have gotten behind what I would like, but I will get there! Thought I would share spring in my part of the world.

My Boreal Homestead through my eyes - June 29 2023
Просмотров 92Год назад
It was such a quiet night I had to pick up the camera and give you a glimpse into my life. A simple scanning of the landscape as seen through my eyes, including a visit from one of nature's creatures. Sound was on, but it was that quiet!

    So many things just made me smile - but especially all the bedding plants coming out - your house must feel really empty! Thank you so much for the video.

    I feel behind here too, it has been a cool spring!! Thinks are looking great there. How lucky you are to have horses right out your door :)

      Your place is looking good though - It has been a cool spring. We are now on day 4 of rain in last week. Not complaining, but it does make planting and other chores an issue. Horses outside the door were a result of a massive flood years ago and they have just not moved since..lol

    That is a deluxe patch of rhubarb. How many years old is it? We just planted rhubarb - again. We had such great rhubarb at our previous garden, but no luck so far here. Every year we hope it will finally take off. ~ Michele

      I planted it here when I bought the place 32 years ago. I have done very little babying. Hope it does well for you this coming year.

    Great tips, thank you! I just planted my rhubarb last spring. It was a nice sized plant I got from a local sale. I am not sure how much I will be able to harvest this spring but looking forward to my first harvest :)

      Thank you. You will be able to get some but I would caution not to overdo the harvesting.

    Nice job, you will be able to harvest so much out of that space! I need to get an orchard going. We have wild raspberries, saskatoons and chokecherries, plus my one small cherry tree. I have some fruit tree seeds coming but they will takes years to establish. I may have to buy one or two bigger tress this year :)

      Thanks! Growing from seed is a cool project and very satisfying, but if you want fruit sooner, the whips or bigger trees are a good idea I figure.

    It's neat to see it all materialize. Is the tall fluffy row your asparagus?

      @MyBorealHomesteadLife-hn5lg Год назад

      Yes it is. I do not trim asparagus back in the fall. It is one of the first things I do in spring.
