Was fortunate to see him perform this a few months ago and have been listening on repeat ever since. Incredible songwriting that hits deep in the gut. Wasn't that long ago I was going through this struggle (and too many still are) and man does he nail it in the most empathetic, heartfelt, and devastating way. Beautiful, nuanced lyrics that say all the silent things out loud. Ending on that major with light and hope kills me everytime. Much love to you, Mr. Martin. Thank you for this beautiful gift of a song. If I'd heard it years ago, I'm positive I would have more easily seen the light through the clouds. This song is strong enough to save a life. There have been a lot super groups in my lifetime but never enough. Groups where more than one member was a standout in their own way and also making the sum of the whole greater than the sum of the parts. Stones, Eagles, Foo... Tyler was part of Band of Horses for a too short while, what could have been. Neal Casal was with Ryan Adams and they made the best music, but it couldn't last.
