As a guest of US Civil rights Organizer , Charles Cobb Jr. Kenya's Independence VP Oginga Odinga was once arrested in Atlanta while in Atlanta protesting against Black discrimination together with 17 other SNCC students . This was an embarrassment for the relations between US and Kenya after the state realized that they had locked up Kenya VP . He refused to leave jail until all the black students were released . His wishes were granted .

Kenya's independence constitution was partly written by first US Black Chief Justice Thurgood Marshall who was friends with Kenya Nationalists Jomo Kenyatta, Oginga Odinga and Tom Mboya . Tom Mboya was a Keynote speaker at the March in Washington in 1963 and close friends of Dr. Martin Luther King, Harry Belafonte ,Andrew Young, Sidney Poitier, Ralph Abernathy and other black civil rights leaders . The Kenyan Nationalists and US Black Civil rights leaders set up resources to help educate Black Kenyans denied higher education opportunities by white before Independence in 1963 . Hence Obama father to Harvard .

In 2019 before pandemic at least 250-300K from US all groups visited Kenya as per US state department . After 2020 protests in US at least 2000-3000 Black America in Kenya part of different Black expat groups in Kenya . Overall 40K from US permanent resident/dual citizen in Kenya mostly in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa .

It's amazing how American malls are ghost towns but African malls are thriving.

It was one of the most beautiful amazing celebrations I have ever experienced in my life. To see soo many Africans/Black people in one place worshiping the One God was truly amazing. Please if you ever get the chance in your life you have to make this pilgrimage to The Grand Magal of Touba in Senegal. The Grand Magal of Touba is the annual religious pilgrimage of the Senegalese Islamic orders in Senegal, West Africa. The Grand Magal of Touba has been recognized as "one of the most popular pilgrimages in the world," with over 5 million participating in 2019. The pilgrimage dates back to 1928. The Grand Magal of Touba is to honor Ahmadu Bamba Mbacke (Arabic: أحمدو بامبا مباك, 1853-1927) also known to followers as the Servant of the Messenger (Arabic: خادِم الرسول, romanized: Khādim al-Rasūl) Serigne Touba or "Sheikh of Touba", was a Islamic saint and religious leader in Senegal and the founder of the large Mouride Brotherhood (the Muridiyya) in Senegal. He led a pacifist struggle against the French colonial empire travelling across the Atlantic Ocean while not waging outright war on the French colonialists like several prominent Tijani marabouts had. The Grand Magal of Touba commemorates Ahmadu Bamba Mbacke 1895 exile to Gabon by the French colonial government. The period of exile in Gabon holds great importance to Senegal and West Africans: it is seen as a time of persecution and testing of Bamba's spiritual strength, peace, and resolve. The rites of the pilgrimage bear similarities to those of the Islamic Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca: the two central events of the Magal are visits to the Great Mosque of Touba, which involves a partial circumambulation of the mosque, and to the mausoleum of Amadou Bamba, which is believed to be infused with the barakah, or spiritual power, of Bamba. Pilgrims pray with outstretched hands and touch the walls and doors of the mausoleum, and some drop coins inside the area around the tomb.
