Use the GI Bill Even if you Hate School | Like a Second Job
If you earned the GI Bill you should use it. Even if you hate school and don't care about a degree. Look, the GI Bill not only pays for your school, it pays you housing allowance. So find an easy school, take a subject that your interested in, do most of it online, and take home some extra money.
Depending on your area, it could be a second job, that pays more than your full time job.

Credit Defense Scam by Wells Fargo: I Got a $3,000 Refund
Просмотров 5 тыс.4 года назад
While getting serious about paying off my credit card, I started READING the statements. This led to me discovering Wells Fargo's Credit Defense scam, and that led to me receiving a $3000 refund. This is the story.
Military SCRA got me a $7,000 Refund from Wells Fargo
Просмотров 7324 года назад
A quick story about how I recieved a $7000.00 refund from wells fargo. I asked them to apply the SCRA 6% interest rate cap to my credit card. This story explains how that led to a 7 grand refund.
The GI Bill will only cover you UP TO the IN STATE student tuition costs. If you are living out of state you will have to come up with the rest out of pocket
Most states give veterans the in state tuition rate. You just have to make sure they have the yellow ribbon program.
I'm have been receiving phone calls from them wells fargo, and today, I'm opening up a letter with a 5.00 dollar check. I had an open balance on my credit card that disappeared, I'm not sure what all this means
Complain about the amount and they will offer you an additional amount of $250 I work for the company your welcome
My question is, would all credit cards company do this ?
Definitely call or visit a Wells Fargo to confirm the legitimacy of any notices/checks. This was years ago for me, who knows what recent scams people might be trying to run.
Seems odd they are still reaching out now, so make sure any recent notices are legit and let us know.
This is a scam
Not a scam, fully legit.
I just got this letter in the mail yesterday
How much did you get?
@@Rock-fu2wb I haven't called yet. Hope it's something
I got a check in the mail yesterday for this. I have to call to make sure its valid though.
I got one today. Trying to find out if its legit
I just got one for $197
A check just showed up for me this year. Everything checked out. But I’m worried to cash the check.
Credit defense was the biggest scam EVER!!!! It was like extortion. Insurance fees i never signed up for! I cancelled it two months in but i had to call them and ask about the dumb fee, (actually had to call them twice because theywoman on the phone in 2010 was intimidating and tried to persuade me against cancelling it, and i was just 19 at the time. She sounded like she had a script to prevent people from cancelling it, playing on people's fears from the recent recession in 2008. So i called the second time after telling my classmates in college what happened and they told me to be more firm! and so i was resolute about it and didn't let them scare me out of not canceling it.) and NOW, thirteen years later i get a letter in the mail asking if i feel wronged by when i was signed up for it!!! I'm gonna ask for a check for .30 cents plus inflation the past 13 years!!!
Everyone should be getting BAH from San Fransisco. I know a guy who’s living in Mississippi, that gets San Fransisco BAH. He just takes 1 in person weekend class. He hops on a plane for about $200 round trip, the day of finals. The BAH in Mississippi is $1100 but he’s making $4600 in SF BAH. Take advantage of this before they get smart and put in a distance requirement.
Bro.. this is solid advice! Till this day
You the best bro!!!
What if you fail to pass the classes? Do you have to pay it back?
I believe they just cut your payments based on the records the school sends to the va
You did a Business Degree ? I’m not sure how you graduated with you presentation skills, you need to go back and slap whoever let you slide
No one cares about your worthless opinion.
Unless you’re in Cali. I’m about to reenlist bc I can’t afford school and housing even with yellow ribbon
Is the GI Bill money you’ll receive from the VA tax free?
Yes it is
I was in from 1992 to 1996 my bill supposedly ran out along time ago. I’ve seen a new program on how the va is refunding money. Do you know anything about it? Another question is does the information on this video apply to me? Just trying to find out what options are open. If I remember correctly I would have to be a disabled vet to qualify for the rent money while going to school? Thanks for your time and putting out this video.
I’m about to start right now my brother
I did this in New York when it was higher than San Francisco for a year or more. Then went to San Francisco. If you go to golden gate you only have to go class once for the entire semester. Not once a week or month but once the whole semester. I live in Hawaii and went the and then lived in Mexico for two years and then the Philippines.
I'm trying to do the same, is their any class that I can take in person that is fast? As in I can finish the class in about a week? So I can meet my requirements for the post 9/11 bill
@@ways5717 you only have to show up to once class of one subject once. So you got people all over the country and World showing up to one class and don’t see them again until the next semester. It’s usually the fiat class of the semester or the last class. Golden gate university in San Francisco is the only school I know that does it. They also have a law school if that interests you. Just call them and talk to them. The whole damn school is nothing but military students.
@Jerry Mylove but they have to complete the class in person right? Or is like I show up to the class, and do the rest of that class in my computer at home?
@@jerrymylove1754 I am on my terminal leave living in Texas ( ETS from Schofield in Oahu too). Can I please have your number or your social media so I can talk/ chat to ask more about this Golden state hack for the full BAH ?
@@davidpham9353 golden gate university in San Francisco. Just look it up. You only have to go to one class of one subject in that one semester. I was making over 20k a semester going there and living in Mexico. Now I am in the Philippines. You are required to go to one class either in the beginning or at the end. So you got the first class of one semester and then the last class of the next semester. You won’t have to go to school for eight months between.
For all us regular folk, it’s for veterans.
Join up then lol
San Francisco is an insane example, but I get your point. Most places will be $1100-1600 per month for full-time enrollment with at least one class on-campus (like you said).
Golden gate is the best you only have to show up to class one time for the whole semester in one class.
@@jerrymylove1754s this something they’re always doing that won’t change ?
@@Mr.HighVibration been doing for a long time
@@jerrymylove1754 Prec your knowledge bro fr helping a lot of us out ya gonna be blessed blessing to you ‼️
@@jerrymylove1754 do you remember when u applied if on the website it had said for veterans: we’re having the capacity or almost to the capacity of service members wanting to use benefits ?😅
So you have to live in San Francisco?im trying to move to Tennesse when I get out
Would this work for leftover GI BILL? Say if I finish my bachelors and got like 5 months left, could I use the rest of my months at an easy school?
Yes. Lets say in your case you have 5 months left and the semester is 3.5. You’ll have 1.5 left. You can register for another semester and the VA will fully cover that second semester. Always double check though. Also…there is this “kicker” we get on top of the GI bill. Check your initial contract. Depending how much you could get anywhere between $250, $450 or $650 on top of your regular BAH. Good luck brother
I have about 8 months worth of education benefits left ...I don't know how to take advantage of it and I'm in a financial bind and could really use the extra income to help with bills and the kids
I would use the GI bill comparison tool to make a list of all the schools in your area. Research each of those schools to see which one has the easiest enrollment options and schedule flexibility. Then see what program has online and in person classes that fit your specific availability. Then enroll and start asap. 8 months should be able to get you two semesters. Even if you don’t intend on finishing the program you sign up for, you could just stop your enrollment when your benefits run out.
There are also ways to request extensions of benefits to finish a degree. This would be worth looking in to if you actually want to finish the program you start.
@@EllisMcKenzieFI thanks this is very helpful
@@EllisMcKenzieFI I am trying to find more information on this. So if I do not actually finish a degree program and only do like 2 semesters (basically so I can earn that extra bah income) the VA wont come back to try to recoup the money they spent on your tuition and bah ?
You pretty much got it Jose. A couple key points are: You want to make sure you do not stop going to class mid semester. If you commit to a semester, finish that semester, then just don’t register for the following one. The VA starts trying to get money back when you drop a class/stop going to class mid semester. The key is just registering for a degree producing program, and taking classes towards it. You don’t have to finish/actually get your degree. You can take semesters on and off at your call. Just don’t stop going to class when you’re in the middle of a term. Good luck brotha. Use what you earned!
how long do you need to serve in active duty to revive GI bill?
A quick google should get you that answer.
At least 3 years for the full 100%.
36+ months for 100%
so helpful my guy. truly
Great advice
The only downside is you have to live in San Fran
Actually, this may not be the case. It goes of the zip of your school not your physical address. Some schools are offering hybrid schedules, where you only have to attend one in person class a term to satisfy the VA attendance, then the rest is online. So if someone set up their schedule that way, they may be able to fly in once or twice a term and still come out on top. Would require planning but may work for some folks
@@EllisMcKenzieFI any way to find out which schools in particular offer a hybrid program like that?
I can’t think of a way other than just researching specific schools in the area you want. If you want San Francisco, Golden Gate University, is/was doing it. I remember people flying in from Vegas, Texas, etc. I would definitely confirm with the school tho
sf is not bad at all . I live here now. you can rent a room for $700 a month pocket the rest.
I'm currently attending the Academy of Art University in SF. My residence is in Concord, CA. I have 3 classes online and the 4th one was an onsite/online option. I choose online for it. BAH for SF is currently $5,066. I think this Friday it will get an increase along with VA comp for veterans. I'm in the Voc Rehab program in Oakland, CA on extension since 2016.
Update I start classes on Monday @HCC
Congrats!
Just go to University of Houston. They have a great business school, Bauer.
