    So has anyone had a problem like mine ? Activity on the waterfall so the soundcard was working, but no decodes? Was it my time was too far off, I don’t think so because I usually get decodes before I synch my time. Let me know your thoughts and experiences.

    Thanks for the video! Our settings were pretty much the same. I concluded that I had some corrupt files buried deep within VarAC and VaraHF. Interestingly I first attempted an Uninstall and reinstall but that didn’t work, so I assumed it was a setting somewhere. I spent hours and found that my settings were all fine. Out of desperation, I attempted another Uninstall, but noticed that there were still several Vara files still on my C drive. I deleted all of them and then did a reinstall and it’s working now. Just curious - what are your actual Radio Settings on the 710? Thanks for the video!

    Any advice for not being able to get my FT710 connected to any vara hf or VARAC stations? I’m out of ideas - seems like my radio transmits and functions the same as you, but I’ve never had any luck. Any other hidden FT710 settings within the radio menus?

      Does VARAC connect to your 710, does it change freq etc under cat control?

    • @globetruck17
      @globetruck17 Месяц назад

      @ Yes - it appears that all my cat controls are configured properly. I’ve been all over the FT710 Facebook page, the vara page, and various Reddit forums. From all we can tell, the cat control works normally. I send a connect signal (hear the tones go out, see my power out, SWR, ALC, etc). I can hear other conversations and data going over Vara C and VARA HF but I have yet to connect to anything or successfully broadcast a beacon,. I’ve made a couple CW contacts, FT8/wsjtx is no problem, and JS8 call are all just fine. But for some unknown reason, the FT710 and Vara are absolutely not working together.

      Ok as upside down triangle fed at the bottom just off gnd it has a 3db gain over a dipole and if u tune the balun with a analizer it will do 75m at about a 45% loss but great on ft8 the wark bands will need an internal atu to bring them inline but I tried a lot of antennas over the years but I allways go back to my delta as it works so well I talked to south caraliner us every day for the month I’ve done nz china ect I use a tuned efhw for portable so u can’t beat a resonant antenna the delta doesn’t need to be perfect triangle so will it work for u? U will have to experiment which is fun ,you won’t know until u try drop me an email and I’ll send you a link for how to make it better than a bought one and lighter /more invisible too

    My X6100 connects to wifi fine, but for the life of me I can't get WFview to work properly. Most of the time it just completely fails to connect to the radio and on the rare occasions it does, it's unstable and not usable in any way. The VFO frequency may match or I get a broken snippet of audio playing from the computer, but nothing useful or consistent. FWIW, it behaves the same way via USB/serial port. I know the wifi is connected as I can update the clock via NIST. I can also connect to the radio fine with a terminal, browse the directory structure, etc. Using the latest firmware I'm aware of, App v1.1.7, Base v1.1.6. I rather like the radio, buggy and quirky as it is, but some things just flat out don't work. Glad I bought it cheap! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Tnx es 73.
