Hunters are so insanely lazy or bad. Years later its SoD now and people still refuse to melee weave. Made my first hunter in sod and the skill ceiling it has made it my favourite instantly. Fuck the lazy people i guess

I just wish Hunters had the same available to them as melee do. So many +Strength buffs out there (where's all the +Agi), not to mention the melee haste benefits from Warchief's Blessing, then you factor in temporary enchants to melee weapons, while hunters get jack s*** for ranged weapons. Then there's the Frenzy uptime for Warriors vs the rng nightmare that can be the Improved Aspect of the Hawk, and the least said about the ridiculous 5-minute CD of Rapid Fire the better. Then there's pet management and, while not difficult for higher end players, it'd just been nice to see the AoE damage reduction in Classic that we have now in retail for Hunter pets. Would've been a nice quality of life improvement. Melee weaving is a blast, I thoroughly enjoy it; however, it's just sad that we had to get this creative just to scratch the surface of our potential ceiling. It's not that we do bad damage by default, it's the effectiveness of our toolkit that is lacking for hunter and the number of available and impactful buffs to us that make our damage less desirable than Warriors/Rogues. I mean seriously Blizzard, +9 Str to Bracers enchant, but the best we can do is a measly +1 Agi? Our +10 Agi food is seasonal, while Warriors get +20 Str year around? While we can use Juju's Might for +40 RAP, Warriors/Rogues can double dip with Juju's Power and gain another +30 Str (Winterfall Firewater for another +35 Melee AP), while we get diddly squat. Our best ammunition isn't even viably available to us, unless we sink dozens of hours into farming it in a dungeon, even if soloable, all a Warrior has to do is get a single weapon for a massive DPS increase and never looks back. There's a lot of reasons that Hunters could improve baseline, with just some minor tweaks. I'd love to see Squid be year around, and now increase Agility by 20. A nice 30-minute enchant to our xBow that explodes on impact and does an additional 20% weapon damage would be dope. Warchief's Blessing now buffing our Ranged Attack speed by 15%. Getting a fat +9 Agi enchant for the Bracers would be lovely. Then also, reduce AoE damage taken by pets by 90% and also change Improved Aspect of the Hawk to just be a raw DPS increase, as opposed to a random RNG proc. Then, last but certainly not the least, allow casting on the move. Thus, allowing us to Melee weave and shoot on the run without the potential loss in DPS should our raid decide to move bosses randomly. Just some thoughts.

Just now seeing this 3 years late. The classic hunter discord has always been and always will be cringe. I remember when I had posted on there explaining how FD is effected by range back in the early days of classic and every time i'd try to help people understand how it works i'd get flamed by tons of people saying I was just making up mechanics and that I had no idea what i'm talking about. Fast forward a couple of years and now the consensus is what I had been telling them all along. Weird how that works. Good video. Melee weaving looks a lot more engaging. I'll need to give it a real shot if official HC servers happen.

As a hunter, when to go 2Handed or 1Handed?
generally, you use the 2h vs. double dps teams and 1h against dps/healer. Also regen staff when you're close to oom
@@skinnay_ hey just found your channel via the hunter discord and subbed! wanting to play my hunter this last season and learning a ton from your gameplay. i had a few questions if you had some time to answer. are you currently running 7/41/13 build? and which staff is the regeneration staff? i didn't realize that was an option also. always thought it was the 2x 1handers with 30 intel. keep up the great work
@@vdp888 I was running imp rez spec for most of the season, but switched to surefooted in the end. They're both good specs that work for different matchups, but a big part of my glad push was improving winrate against rogue/mage which was all over the ladder. Staff of Dark Mending from ZA is bis regen staff, but Apostle is almost as good too.

Well, the video wasn't about melee weaving making hunters beat the brown tide. It was about the viability of melee weaving and the fact that, mathematically, it's a dps increase if it's a fight where you can pull it off. And at the time of the raid in the video, this dude was the no. 1 hunter in the world. Edit: Also just had a look, all the top hunters in the world in Naxx are melee weaving.
Yo man, 3 months ago you gave us this amazing showcase video but where have you been since! I personally would love to see an aq video.
My server was a bit late to open the gates, so me and my guild are still figuring out how to optimize the fights in AQ. This is the first time we had DMF for AQ on my server and I got a good parse but not quite #1 world (currently #25). People have been taking notes though and there are many other melee weavers up at the top. I don't know when I'll make another video like this, but feel free to watch the unedited VODs on my twitch in the meantime.

I got 2nd on twins no world buff but dropped to 7th *chumpys* - I was thinking that would be a solid fight to melee weave on, however it's really tight with Mana, def need 100% efficiency with runes and majors. One last question, when you go for melee weaving parses, do you spec into survival for the crit % or do you keep 20 points in beast.
@@croszdrop1 Because the monster slaying talent doesn't work in AQ, i went 20 into BM and dropped savage strikes.

The fact that you idiots think meleeweaving is a meme, I repeatedly told hunters in my old guild to get used to it, and that it would probably be a boost in their DPS. Meanwhile this dude isn't 100% good with his weaving but gets 99's and 1 100. Just saying...
