How to professionally retouch a portrait photograph (Lightroom and Photoshop 2023)
Просмотров 81Год назад
In this video I show you how I professionally retouch a portrait photograph using Adobe’s Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. Starting from a raw image, I will show you my workflow, use of frequency separation and how I sharpen, as well as how I change my mind on some dodging and burning (I explain why I change my mind, too!). As part of my workflow, I use a frequency separation action from the in...
I’m about to get a Z6III, does it work well with older lenses, using the FTZ adapter? How is the Z6 III?
I love the camera: its such a workhorse and I feel like I can rely on it for anything. In fact, I am now looking for lenses that are _less_ crisp and perfect looking. The autofocus is exactly what is advertised by the reviews (i.e. fast and accurate), however that is limited by the lens on the FTZ II. The adaptor works very well, though older lenses of course do not have the same speed as the Z-mount lenses. And bear in mind: older nifty-50s without a focusing motor in the lens will not autofocus and you will be forced to focus manually.
@ right now I have the ZF but it’s same thing. I’m actually selling my Zf just because I am finding the weight with the grip to be too heavy and not very ergonomic. Zf actually heavier and bulkier than the Z6III with the grip attached to the Zf. I love the Zf but I need a workhorse bc I’m a working portrait photographer. I have mostly all S lenses , all Z mount so focus should be fast. The Zf is very fast. I’m looking forward to shooting with the Z6III.
Congrats & nice unboxing / overview vid! I'm actually deciding on adding the Z6III to my setup (current sale here in the US). Re: Omission of chargers, not cost related. The EU has mandated 1- USB-C charging, and 2- no separate chargers for small electronic devices. Not sure of all the details but camera companies are affected and must comply. I will tell you that the 24-120 4 is everything they say it is - probably my favorite zoom of all time, right up there with the 70-200 2.8 S. Super versatile setup you have now, awesome 👏🏻
Ahh thanks for letting me know. I think theres a bit of cost-cutting here as the UK is not in the EU, but I do suppose that its overall to our benefit. It sucks however for an unboxing to not know this in advance!
@@M0stlyH4rml3ss Yes for sure, I had to buy a charger (must have IMO). I ended up getting the Z6III & vertical grip, love it 😎
@@csc-photo Yeh I think the vertical grip might be shortly on my list of things to buy: helpful for headshots/portraits.
I've had to disable touch screen as I kept focussing with my nose ;) Have you used the camera yet? Let us know how you get on!
@@StephaniebeltonPhoto that’s amazing! Full on disabling it rather than just turning the screen around 😂 I’m loving it so far. The lens and camera combination is a dream; I’ll likely make an update video soon.
@@ChrisHenry-PhotographyI actually mainly use the screen now rather than the viewfinder especially for events as I can be a lot more flexible with my composition (higher, lower angle etc) without having to have my face attached to the camera. I love the electronic viewfinder for reviewing the images, especially if it's outdoors, so much easier to view.
You're going to love going mirrorless!
