He had lots of pressure due to he was captain he has to be coach as well when he played for West Indies same time he developed chronic fatigue syndrome with all this his career got affected so much.in his him West Indians not performing well on their great abilities except lara but he is performing well in test cricket only so he couldn’t hold the pressure and his concentration was disturbing.thr will no other batsman like him in future and past as well.for me martin crowe and Richie are greatest ever batsman without any doubt.Richie has great abilities as batsman no one can imagine.cricket is missing him
Malcolm was unbelieveable at his best.
Great great & great only
A fabulous, fantastic and under rated batsman - Sir Richie Richardson - one of the all time greats!
Superb on the hook i could watch him all day doing this
The best fastest bowler ever
Fastest deadly Malcolm Marshall
Marshall world no.1 best great bowler
Great swinger of the ball-both in and out 👏
Better than kohli
Not only than kohli he is far about rest thr wil be no player like him
Better to watch more than Richards eye pleasing
When GG hit them, they stayed hit.
Gordon Greenidge is for sure the best opening batsman the west Indian team ever had.
Very gifted talented player. Very difficult batsman to bowl to.
The best square cutter of all time!!!! And, probably, the best opener!!!
Beautiful batting sir Richie Richardson
Vicious square cuts n pulls
Scalped almost all 'great' batsmen of that era that too clean bowled. Marshall truly GOAT.
Gavaskar was the only batsman to do well against Marshall.
No, In the second test of 1983 Series in Delhi and fourth test in Ahmedabad Gavaskar scored 100 in an attacking way in Delhi and he played a very classical innings by scoring 90 runs in Ahmedabad and in the final Test at Madras Gavaskar made 236 not out , it doesn't made whether test series was decided or not , WI always played to fierce way to win every Tests then and Gavaskar performance can't be belittled as all these runs amazed by battling a hostile face bowling attack of Marshall , Holding and Wayne Daniel. In the 1982 -83 series in west indies Gavaskar made 147 runs in Georgetown Guyana against WI quckies of Marshall,Roberts and Holding etc.
@@ELP1791 That match was drawn due to rains. Other test matches in the same series where Marshall, Roberts and Garner played the score was 20,0,1,32,2 and19 which was the case with other batters too. Windies was unbeatable those days except for Indian subcontinent pitches.
@@blaze1148Gavaskar was dismissed by Marshall 10 times and each dismissal cost only 16.8 runs a piece. The two batsmen to actually thrive not only against Marshall but the peak West Indies as a whole were Graham Gooch, who averaged 44.65 with over 2k runs in tests where West Indies fielded their full strength pace attack, and Allan Border, whom Marshall on record called the toughest batsman he had ever bowled to, proof of it being Marshall's 11 dismissals of Border cost him 36 runs on an average and Border in the West Indies at the height of their pace dominance averaged 53.
@@AnkitSingh-pz2ju I stand corrected Sir 👍
I wish they had speed guns in those days. These deliveries look very very quick.
Why he didn't wear helmet
शानदार टाइमिंग ❤❤❤
Pure genius, I miss you so much❤
Why?
Argubaly one of the hardest hitters of the cricket ball as a batsman.
Most dangerous opener of all time 👏
Brilliant player. And the best player i ever saw limping!
My favourite cricketer of all time
One of the best openers of all time
Best opener in history of cricket. Lot of players copied his style of batting such as Lara, Michael slater, pointing, Michael clark
Sehwag's grandfather.
There was no sight more beautiful than Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes walking onto the pitch in their long-sleeved shirts with collars up.
Ahmedbhai whole WI team was good. Richards, Lloyd, Dujon, Marshall, Garner, Holding, Gomes, Roberts.
❤a true master
Never saw Maco celebrate as fiercely as he did at 04:51 when he got Border. He got close to it when he used to get Chris B-road but he hated him ( who didn’t?!!). Fantastic video.
Its cos he thought he had Border out earlier. Did something similar another time he dismissed Border; screamed something at him as he left the field. Youre right about Broad though, he didnt like him. He actually only really hated Vengsarker lol.
I want to thank you for doing this. Outstanding compilations of Windies cricketing greats. As much as they caused me pain at the time, I still loved them!
We should see him when he started his career, devastating batsman in mid 80s. He was more conservative player after captaincy
Amazing hand eye coordination. As talented as lara and richards, unfortunately the stats dont convey that but on his day, he was outstanding. Greatest opener of all time period.
I remember watching Richardson at the Gabba in a warm up game against a Queensland side that featured McDermott, Thompson, Rackemann and Maguire as the pace attack. He put them to the sword with ridiculous ease including several exquisite hook shots onto the old dog track. The harder they tried the harder he hit them. A nice guy to boot, probably too nice for the captaincy though. Thanks for the memories.
The best opener of all time imo. No weaknesses in his game at all. A great slip fielder too. The only thing he didn’t do was bowl because they didn’t need that from him (not because he couldn’t.)
He has picked up a couple of fifers in first class cricket though. He could pretty much do anything He wanted I guess.
Yeah right? I didn’t know that. It doesn’t surprise me at all though. I’m watching this again as I reply and he really was a beautiful cricketer. Seriously, watching him brings me tears of joy.
Wonderful player of Hook/pull shot & powerful square & cover drive. Treat to watch. Brave enough to bat without helmet in those days.
Possibly the best opener in history
One of my favourite windies batsman
I rate him alongside Viv Richards. Drop short either side of the wicket he kills you. Over pitch he kills you. Footwork and timing? Impeccable. As a young cricketer Gordon Greenidge was the batsman I wanted to be. A joy to watch. Good compilation too.
Every shot he plays is like poetry in motion.
Beginning of the career Gordon was slightly ahead in my view, but Viv destructive batting captured headlines and his heavy scoring again England and world cup hundred, he edged out Gordon marginally. Buy great respect to both giants
He was to West Indies batting to what Stuart Macgill was to Australian leg spin. Both were fantastic players in their own right but were always in the shadows of one of the best ever.
He is best player for yorker...he smash 4 on yorker in sleep
😂😂😂
Lol kuch bhi matlab kuch bhi
@@ankitchhowala5694 thanks bro....I think u not watched him in earli 90
Packed with power off Ali/Tyson.
Guy who oversee the decline of West Indies Cricket. One of the worst captains , he could never groom new fast bowlers or Batsman and also ended Desmond Haynes career, while He was much needed for 95 marquee series against Australia
Why are you bitter at Richie? He took the place of one of your country men? Tek that!!
Super Greenidge...
The only player makes pain to the ball
Great video, well edited highlights
All time great
One off the greatest opening batsman off all time and west indies greatest batsmen. GG
