As you have discovered, connectors can be a little possessive at times and don't want to set you free which is why Keen installed the strength adjuster some time back. How the magnetic strength is governed when two connectors of different strength intensity come together is the one with the lowest strength setting is given control. Another feature, Keen, added was a short "grace" period. Meaning both connector indicator lights turn blue and the magnetic force is disabled, for a very short period, when they are unlocked. So, if you find yourself caught by a sticky connector just double tap the switch lock button to get back the "grace" and fly off. Speaking of things being turned on and off. I don't know if you've experimented with the Event Controller (EC) but it is loaded with Keen factory installed scripts for many useful purposes. One of them is to check if the cockpit/control seat is occupied or not. Before the EC I would set the batteries to recharge and the tanks to stockpile. When I left I would reverse the actions . . . when I remembered to that is. With the batteries set to suck in power and selfishly not providing power to the thrusters when I unlocked, the ship fell like a bag of wet cement to the deck below causing the lift thrusters to explode. Now all my ships have a EC in them. Just the act of getting into the cockpit turns the batteries to auto and turns off stockpile and even unlocks the connector for me.

theres a shortcut button on using build planner the mouse on taking items or getting them to production quque. right click with welder= add to build planner Mbutton = take items shift+Mbutton = add to production might make your game a bit comfortable
