Jam with Clapton, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow and Robert Randolph
I am a singer and I am in a very dark period of my life. The song is perfect for my expectations. I dream to sing this song with Sting but maybe it will never happened… maktoub.
I prefer the fretless Ibanez models he used in the early 80s (one of them was 8 strings). They had a powerful, punchy deep and round sound. I didn’t like when he switched to frets, because he had a really personal tone.
It's a strongest proof that you shouldn't listen just to hits like Shape of my Heart, Englishman, Fragile, Fields of gold Great song, pleasure to play and to listen The Night the Pugilist Learned How to Dance - also great piece of charm of this album
Sublime ❤
Kurt Elling version
Brilliance in the way he delivers this song... Which shows his mastery of music.
Non bisogna mai proporre ad una persona di amarti se non è nelle sue intenzioni
Beautiful song
For whatever reason , this makes me think of the William Butler Yeats poem , "When You Are Old And Gray"
I hate to Havelock my eyesight on my life, my life was sarrowful and my mom was in constant misery. Now she got new arrangements with some guy i shamefully hate, let my anger uppon him, i miss my dad so much, i wish she would have tryied to loved him instead, rearrange her heart and mind. for i can't stand the introder. I know in my heart, that it a'int love. Just practical arrangement.
My dad Gene Kady played with Danny in a band called The All Night Flyers
Went to High School with Danny and saw the all night Flyers at the Stanhope House.
@filmmac 3 Met Danny in Essen, Grugahalle, West Germany on 1980 10.18. 7 th Rockpalast event. Their second World Tour, which lasted from 1980 summer - till 1981 January 16 called "Zenyatta Mondatta".
@@gilrep Are you still in contact with him?
❤❤❤ my love
The one and only Sting
Had a tele caster bass . Thought it was to heavy and stuck into my body . I still like them though. The basic bass
No words
so true......amazing....!
I searched long and hard for a proper adjective to describe his voice - I'm an English teacher - All I could muster was 'smoky and well-lived in.'
One of my favorite Sting songs....This is what's called in show business a "trunk song". It was originally written for his Broadway show The Last Ship and then taken out for creative reasons. He personally loves it. You can tell by the way he offers it.....
🏆👌💋🍀❤
Is this Carlos Santana's brother Antonio Santana??
ITS ABSOLUTELY SUPERIOR!!!!!
Zenyatta came out in Oct '80 I think. I'd love to see him play some of those sweet fretless basses from the late 70's and early 80's. he played them with a pick; great tight Police sound
My love
I thought Fender went to the split pickup version in 1957 for P basses?
Seymour Duncan wound a special double bobbin stacked pickup for Sting's bass... It can be configured as hum cancelling or in series as the later 58 precision pickup. I don't know how it is wired in Sting's bass but it is available as a custom order from Seymour. I ordered one and configured with a push pull volume knob. Best of both worlds.
gutbucket The first precision with split coil was in '58 when they designed the new precision which is very similar to the model we know today.
Yeah, like halfway through the year though. This one must be early ‘57
@FunkyMonk6 You're right!
Crazy..... I can't sleep tonight.
240p....yay
Sorry if You find the resolution of the video not to Your liking... The video is from 2005! Plus it's not available anymore on the original website it was taken from. I guess what's important about the video is the insight it gives concerning Sting's gear. Video quality is neglectable.
Maurizio Saccani thanks for the explanation.

An old man who wants a young lady to accept to live with him. Tragic...
It could be 2 friends who decide to make a go of it
What is the story of this song? Beautiful song.
The plot of his The Last Ship has an older character falling in love with a younger woman...so much so that he makes a unique request.
Wow, where did you find this? So cool. Danny has been with Sting even longer than Trudie has. ; ) Pretty sweet.
wow, mr. Danny must be a very "blessed" man to have toured with mr. Sting for so long!
Mitico!!!
Yeah he does
nice insights...
dammit to hell, I had to leave just as this song started I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" But was an epic day
If Clapton is God as they used to say, to me Mayer is Jesus! (don't mean to be blasphemous though... Just a "believer" in the Blues!
What a day! Saw Mayer in manchester on wednesday best night of my life! In Hyde park he was still good just the Atmosphere wasnt the Same but Clapton blew every one away!
