      In this case you need to perform a bolted joint analysis. Perform the FEA using idealised rigid link and extract forces from all three axes. Input those values in an online bolted joint calculator to see if its sufficient.

      Pls check if you have rigid links between spring centre and hole’s outer edge. If u still get the error, run a modal analysis with rigid mode search turned on. It will tell you where your model is detached from the equation.

    Good video, but stresses are not calculated in the elemend nodes. Only displacements are. After the initial calculation of the displacement, the stresses are calculated in the Gaussian points in the element. So the stresses on the nodes are interpolated from the gaussian points

    • @nothingbutengineering
      @nothingbutengineering 3 месяца назад

      We fix mounting locations because those are gonna stay immovable relative to the rest of your body. Like nails in a door hinge. For complicated assemblies, we rigidly link bolted joints and fix ground locations (where it is connected to immovable structure or grounded to Earth simply)

    if the welds are intersecting each other, the model is not getting meshed. I tried adjusting length for each joint to avoid any interferences . Is there any other way to do this? because there are a lot of welds in my model

    • @nothingbutengineering
      @nothingbutengineering Год назад

      Unfortunately, there is no shortcut to do that. One has to shorten the length of welds in the weld definition itself. Another method is to use weld as a part by creating sweep features.

  • @deepakjohsh7748

    Extremely high quality content! Thanks a ton 😊 But one question though, we choose the component butting surface as FREE, shouldn't it be Contacts? I ask this question because PTC help states that FREE interface allows the penetration of nodes, while CONTACT prevents it. Do let me know your thoughts.

    • @nothingbutengineering
      @nothingbutengineering Год назад

      Good question. Most thin solid (sheet/plates) problems are linear problems and avoiding contacts will make sure most of load is going through the weld. While using contacts, friction may absorb some of the deformation or force. Also, using contacts forces you into non linear problems, which is not good for evaluating fatigue loads. But when you are interested in yielding and plastic deformation, its sensible to use contacts.

    • @Druze_Tito
      @Druze_Tito 2 месяца назад

      @@nothingbutengineering What if you use No Friction - Contact interface? In that case the Contact interface will not absorb any deformation of the face. It's a very good question and I would be happy to get a more in-depth explanation. Thank you in advance.

    • @nothingbutengineering
      @nothingbutengineering Месяц назад

      @@Druze_Tito Contacts are primarily used in non linear problems and for impact loads. For fatigue and eigen value problems, they are not preferred. And, Creo is not very good at handling contact non linearity.

    You said for large assembly it's useful right. What if I will use simplified representation for large assembly?? Make sense?

    • @nothingbutengineering
      @nothingbutengineering Год назад

      Depends on your end goal. I use this feature to drive panel size in an elevator cabin for different values of height and width inputs given by field engineers. You won’t be able to visualise the aesthetics when you use simplified rep and reps don’t affect your bill of material I guess as it just hides features instead of suppressing it.

    • @saurabhroy7100
      @saurabhroy7100 Год назад

      @@nothingbutengineering simp rep is not hiding parts from a assembly. It suppressed parts and as you know Creo is bi-directional associativity so it will affect your bill of material too.

    • @nothingbutengineering
      @nothingbutengineering Год назад

      The point is, pro program lets you automate the manual efforts needed to create reps. You need to manually pick each and every part while creating a rep. Image you have 100 different configurations and it’s really painful to do reps and suppress/Un suppress. It gets even more painful when your piece parts need feature suppressing based on driving parameter. I don’t think we can parametrically control which reps to pick from a sub assembly at top level based on input given at top level.

    Thanks for the video. In Creo, you do not have to have a 'curve' first for a Sweep. Start the Sweep operation then Pick 'Datum' > 'Sketch' on the right side of ribbon and sketch your trajectory, then you can sketch the section that will sweep. Using this option will imbed the sketch into the Sweep feature and hide its visibility in one action. This is also true for Swept Blend. Sets in Rounds and Chamfers help with building transitions between highly complex rounds

    • @nothingbutengineering
