RHDC.ppt: A humorous, innovative ROM hack with stealth gameplay and 2D Mario levels
So I checked out RHDC.ppt on a lark and boy, was it worth it! It's hard to believe that this is a ROM hack for Super Mario 64, but that's exactly what it is. Featuring a first person view where you stealthily avoid coworkers that deplete your energy and Mario levels that take place on presentation slides, it's both a challenging and delightful experience. Props to the creators, "Reonu" and "thecozies" for their humorous execution on the concept!
I also have to commend the entire setup of the romhacking.com website. The ROM patching process was automated once I set up everything through the suggested Parallel Launcher. If you're interesting in trying out RHDC.ppt for yourself, the setup ins...

Visions of Mana Impressions/Review + Soundtrack Talk

I started to share my impressions of Visions of Mana, but it kind of led into making a review. Whoops! 😅 I also talked about the excellent soundtrack a lot, giving some examples of other SquareSoft/Enix music that it sounds like. If you'd prefer to avoid that (fun) tangent, just know it's between 8:41 - 9:56. Thanks for watching! Follow my socials to keep up-to-date with me: Twitch: twitch.tv/g...
Visions of Mana Soundtrack + VIbes - Gamurda Mines ( Extended 60 min )
Просмотров 2233 месяца назад
Just gameplay and music of the Gamurda Mines from Visions of Mana. This is a little more dynamic than the actual soundtrack song, as I muted the in-game sound effects and played the game. So there's the occasional increase in intensity. It still makes for great study music.
Need For Speed III on the PS1 - Nostalgic Gushing & Emulation Talk
Просмотров 1164 месяца назад
Need For Speed III is one of my favorite racing games on the PS1. In this video, I talk about what it was like revisiting this retro classic for the first time in a while. As such, I thought it'd be fun to play with some different emulation settings. I also talk about my memory of the music and the impact it had on me. If, per chance, you are also a fan of this game's soundtrack, I have located...

Hey guys! So like many others, I was excited to hear about the announcement of GameCube Retro Achievements last month. Sure, you need to play in the Dolphin emulator in order to use them, but anyone who's dipped their toes in GameCube emulation in the past decade should discover that everything is generally the same in that emulator apart from the addition of the aforementioned achievements. I'...

I recorded this a few months back, after I was finished playing the first Rocket Knight. There's just some difficult things that are actually fun to get the hang of, and this was one of them! Also, "Hi, people in the future that are playing the collection!" :D
Nox - The Village of Ix - Music + Ambient Sounds (1 hour+)
Просмотров 1522 года назад
I recently had the pleasure of playing Nox for the first time. It's an action RPG that was not unlike Diablo II; both games were released in 2000 around the same time. I really liked the atmosphere in the first town, Ix, and joked that I should post an ambient sounds video to RUclips. Now that idea is a reality, haha. 😅 The video should loop perfectly, so feel free to right click, select "Loop"...

It's December 27th in Mizzurna Falls. This was originally recorded on 07/25/2020. I'm playing Nikita's February 2nd 2020 build in this video. Synopsis: Matthew and Wynona check out the school for clues about Emma. The diner gets robbed and Matthew tracks the culprits. Matthew meets a singer with a mysterious past. There are other Let's Plays, so I'm making the goal of mine to be just the story ...

Welcome back to the Persona Let's Play! In this one, I traverse the Deva Yuga and, frankly, get my ass kicked by Guido. I can't say I'm surprised, since I barely leveled at all through the game and even pretty minimally utilized the Persona cards. There's some good bits in here too... there's an ultimate form of Guido called, "Super Guido". Man, they broke a sweat thinking of that name, I bet! ...

Here it is: highlights from the last time I streamed the Hallow's End hack! I'm not sure how everyone feels about cheating, but you'll see me mull over the prospect out loud and then take the plunge in this one. It's almost been a year since I've touched this hack. I can't promise I'll get to it again any time soon, but I figured I would at least get this one out there, since it's been sitting ...

2:06 you can download a gun?
Nice vid! You deserve more subs.
Thanks! very kind of you to say so. :)
3:10 You should use a controller that has the notches for pure directions, like the N64 or GC controller
Also oh yeah I'm see more and more games get this easy mod browser/installer,maganer/luncher/ everythjing you need thing... And it was an on and off thing before with the most fam,ous version be steam workshop but Minecraft I believe has the best one as you can easly do all the stuff you want... But also download modpacks from the main Mincraft mod hosting platforms... This is the first I've hheard SM64 getting one and that moed installer is tech atleast as old the thge PC port is is vital to PLus and Co-op dlelux the defitinve edtion type rom hacks tro work... So yeah good to see this steam workshop revolution finally starting to become industry standard they exterfmly 5rare and vauled... As it always makes modding games massively more accessible and that goes for installing and manggaging mods evenb in match making now adays and uploading mods in a safe net potive way rfor everyone including the devs who embrace it!
I think the best joke which I belkive was 100% intenmla is how this rom hack likely made by "some guy" for free and as hobby with zero budget but massive talent and skills... Made an epic masterpiece easly beating countless AAA $60 DLC hell the game, games iin polish, replayblity, unquie concapt and fun engaging gameplay witha story and characters you care and about even if it's not endearing? LIke esspcaly studios that have blank checks and just the keys to the IP from their publiusher. Anbd have an all star team full of authors who work great tighter and have the current AAA budget of $199 Million USD to $500 Million USD? Like I really don't know how feel about how game devs with seemly infinite resoces compared to this guys none can suck so bad at their job... I dpon't ask for much... I just ask for DEvs tpo stop making litterly the worst choice possible that know one could have poredicted... Also if you can make aperfect you do not not at good enough or worse a dumpster fire... Which yes I have seen games that should be perfect like not even low hanging fuit at that point it's just ebeing spoonfeed to them.. Like Let the ball go into the goal... But they some how with black magic not meant to exisit in their or any reality they magane to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory... But objectivly perfdect master peceices like this is what gaming no art is all about...
Job where everyone but you is very enthusiastic about their job: The Game
😂
For some reason it reminds me of c418 stuff
that beach picture tho still pixelated is kinda wild
The one at 1:17? Looks like a shirtless Mario, or maybe Ness. 🤔
@@GoronMegazord yes, lmao
I love this hack so much. It feels like it nails pretty much every single thing it set out to do.
This theme so good
Isn't it though? :) Thanks for watching- er, listening.
That's an insane way to learn Mario 64 speedrunning tech. I gotta give it a shot now.
Yeah, it was pretty much a crash course! Totally doable if you look up the name of each tech in RUclips though. Thanks for watching!
Lmao 😂
Kind of reminds me of that Among Us / The Office game that people have been playing lately with the slackers and the workers.
Was not aware until now! Thanks for mentioning it!
Holy s***
One of the greatest racing games ever! As a kid i used to play the PC version, me and my brother would just drive around Hometown at night with rain, parking the car, just chilling there. We must have played that track 100s of times lol I've recently started playing with DuckStation overcloking and it is amazing with unlocked fps games but im always afraid of going over 60 and running the game in speedup mode.
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad my video conjured up feelings of nostalgia for you. 🙂 One of the greatest racing games ever, indeed! I don't think overclocking will make the game run too fast, but then again, I don't overclock by too much, so I wouldn't know. Just imagining what that would look like though... 😂 I hope you enjoy your adventures in DuckStation! It can be really exciting to suddenly be able to revisit so many formative games. 👍
This is truly an entry for the slide hack competition of all time
why does this look like a source game tho?
Low poly characters and environments, low resolution blurry filtered textures.
Nah it looks more like a goldeneye mod lol
@@jlewwis1995 Yeah, I think more "Goldeneye", but the mod kind of has the charm of Team Fortress 2.
lol this looks like a good chuckle
It definitely is! Setup wasn't as hard as I thought either.
this might be another warcraft dota situation
Yeah!, or Narbacular Drop/Portal!
Neat
That one office worker in the video sounds a lot like the main character in Xavier Renegade Angel LOL
I am not familiar with that series, sadly. It must be wild though. 😏
well, checks out considering how office workers tend to be on... stimulants (well, coffee is one too)

This was a well textured video! I hope you have a well textured day!
Haha, thanks Coela! 😄

No get metaphor
Metaphor seems like an amazing game, for sure. I’ve yet to finish the demo myself though. A lot of good games seem to have dropped all at once, lol. I’m sure I’ll get to it eventually.
This game wasn’t on my radar at all, but your soothing voice and honest review made me want to check it out!
Thank you so much for that! It's got a pretty good demo for download as well!
THIS MY JAM THANK YOU!!
@@finaldragon789 You are very welcome! Glad you like it!
I’m still going through it. Loving it
Same - I have Julei + all the elemental vessels now. Hoping to finish it soon. 👍
I was like "oh there is no way this is going to work" and.. it does work, holy crap, it works like a charm! Thank you for sharing this for people who have a hard time understanding stuff like this through text, also thanks to the original poster over on GameFAQs. I saw the post and didn't really know what to make of it, couldn't really imagine this to work, but seeing it on video makes it much easier (maybe I am just stupid, might as well be the case) either way, thank you for the video!
I want a reremake of Secret of Mana in this style .
Ha! Yeah, a lot of people did not like that remake. Seeing what they've done with Trials, and now this, I think there's a good case for it. Although the team that worked on this has been disbanded, sadly.
On my wishlist. Thank you for the demo!
No problem, glad you enjoyed it! :)
This does look like a cozy action RPG! Nice review :)
Thanks Bueller, much appreciated! 😀
Cozy is precisely what has ruined gaming... it's the word of the woke and snowflakes.
im playing the old psx version and I heard they patched Takonomics out and my immediate reaction was "if they patched takonomics out they better have patched in something resembling a normal encounter system" most inconsistent random encounter system Ive ever seen, you could get 1 easy enemy or 5 high tier enemies just push your siht in, at the start of the game for what appears to be no to little rhyme or reason lol
Thanks for the quick and easy guide! Helped a lot!
You're welcome! Glad you liked it! 🙂
This handling it's more drifting/sliding than grip so when playing I think of driving the car like that and for me it's more fun than the PC version. (even though in Speedruns you try to drive the car as much as possible with a grip style) A shame NFS II PS1 handling is really atrocious.
Yeah, my memory of that one was the sense of speed was really good, but the control... not so much! Also, despite there being less detail, the FPS was worse, if I remember correctly.
@@GoronMegazord I agree that NFS III PS1 was a more enjoyable experience than NFS II PS1
Question, what PSX emulator are you using and could you share the settings? Are you also using some CRT filter on it as I like the clean look of it. Let me know and thanks in advance.
Hey there - I'm using RetroArch with the SwanStation core. I didn't make any changes from the default settings. (Other than CPU overclocking, which is shown in the video.) Yes, I am using a CRT filter, "Mattias CRT ". All filters are turned off by default, so you should be good.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I played this first and foremost on PC, only later played the PSX version. Obviously, the PC version looks better but the AI (both of the cops and other racers) is way better on the PSX, made the hot pursuit mode way more intense. Are you also going to take a look at NFS High Stakes? That's the best one of the classic era in my opinion.
Ah, I didn't know that about the AI on PC version! I didn't play High Stakes that much because the graphics would hitch on my PS1. That being said, I might check it out some time soon. If I do, it would also be the PS1 for the sake of nostalgia. :) (But with the CPU overclocked so that the framerate is a lot better. 😬) Seems like it would be fun because of the car damage and career mode! Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@GoronMegazord Yeah was a great video, also High Stakes has the career mode and the whole economy side to it with buying / selling cars, repairing and upgrading them. I still have the quiet hope that one day we get a proper remake / sequel with that same fleshed out career mode. Alas, one can hope.
@@GoronMegazord iirc PS1 High Stakes doesn't have a damage model
@@aleglinny It does. PSX Gaming Memories talks about it in their review: ruclips.net/video/zGTbPBW5ulk/видео.htmlsi=zH6mjiFd_qEyzQLM&t=674 I was starting to question my memory for a second there! 😆 Here's another video you can see it on: ruclips.net/video/p6okOpIjVFA/видео.htmlsi=QcgoS91_0HQjDYD_&t=93
Feels wrong watching this without Domino's in hand, but i still enjoyed it. I had no idea the game was actually a re-skinned Japanese game! I remembered a few things but forgot some others so this was a nice trip down memory lane 😄
I had no idea it was a re-skin all these years either! It's a little disheartening to think the exploits of the Noid weren't handcrafted from scratch. ...just a little. Not really surprising. 😅 But yeah, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
I love the Mario dance moves! ❤😂
He was really tearing it up, huh? 😆
I actually had the same mindset when the GC rollout happened initially, it was a good incentive to play Gamecube games I've never touched in my life. As a rhythm game fan myself, DDR: Mario Mix has been a ton of fun! ^w^ Although, if you were like me and didn't grab a 100% save file, I had to unlock Super Hard on each song which was just grindy :P
Ahhh, yeah! It did seem grindy. I think it's cool that the story mode is *there*, it's just that playing DDR on the lower difficulties feels like watching paint dry. 😅 But yeah, glad to hear I wasn't the only one gravitating towards DDR Mario Mix!
How to convert Retroarch save files to project 64 save files ?
Hey there - what Retroarch core are you using?
@@GoronMegazord it's all good. I already got it. But thanks anyways. Also, you can simply copy the save file and rename it to what the file is called in Retroarch/Project 64 and just change the save file ending.
@@svenmandelkorn3238 That's good info to know and share- thanks!
