To be the merchants of peace.
OUR MISSION
To represent, support and protect the interest of the business community in the UAE.
OUR POLICY
ICC leads the role to set rules and standards for the conduct of international trade, which are accepted by all business sectors. Currently, it maintains its efforts to break down barriers to international trade and investment so that all countries can gain economically and the living standards can rise. The ICC-UAE introduces the policies advocated by the ICC to the UAE government and its agencies. Every member is entitled to affect the business policy adopted by the ICC and the ICC-UAE.

I can not understand the utility of such events except a few liked minded people are gathered and provided free stay, meals etc. Can not find merit a particular segment is beneficiary.

It is not possible to have two exposures to the same risk. If the LOI is issued then the exposure on the LC is settled simultaneously. Only one exposure should be outstanding. The ultimate risk is if the Invoice under the LC reflects a different amount, presumably higher in value.
Another great lesson from Norman and clarifying comments from Vincent ~ with both of whom I've had the pleasure of lecturing for many years. The overarching message is that bank clerks who handle Documentary Credits must be given much more detailed training in order to understand the pitfalls which can and often do threaten their banks or their clients...
