    I’ve wondered why my company didn’t put a damper on my 6 inches double wall duratek Pipe. Got a Jotul Carrabasset wood stove w no catalytic converter

    • @upnorthhomestead
      @upnorthhomestead 25 дней назад

      I think the theory with high efficiency stoves is that you can control the rate of burn by regulating the intake air, as your stove door etc is airtight so those manufacturers don't put a damper on the stove. If your unhappy with the way your stove burns I would give the manufacturer a call. Thanks for watching!

      I have the same stove. It's our main source of heat for 2800 sq ft. I'm experimenting with the flu damper over last few days. I would rather not send 400° up the chimney that I could use for heat.

    • @upnorthhomestead
      @upnorthhomestead 7 дней назад

      @johnbalzano6588 it's definitely a balance. I am still trying to find the sweet spot, I tend to have it run hot but you lose a lot of heat that way. Thanks for watching!

      @@LizAlexy Hello, I haven't seen a damper like you see on the stove in video on any of the new high efficiency stoves like your Jotul. I would talk to your dealer or manufacturer if your having any issues. Thanks for watching!

    Could also help prying apart really tough pieces

  • @TARINBOSH
    @TARINBOSH Месяц назад

    Just look into heat-treating the blade. Grinding likely introduced heat in the cuts. If there isn't uniform heat across the piece you'll get misaligned steel crystal lattice, which can split and break your axe! It could be done quite easily in the coals of a good sized fire.
