+Bethelehem Ashagerie - She was actually born and raised in Addis Ababa, until her modeling career took off. I have also seen the movie (very poignant and saddening). She was portraying a woman who was a victim of female circumcision. Liya herself is married and has two biological children.

First of all I thought she was Somali why does she have an Amharic name ( first and last) and secondly I watched the desert flower ( super sad and touching) and I thought she was a victim to female circumcision how does she have children after that, or are they adopted
