Another great trip to the lake with our new to us boat. Storing the boat just 7 miles from the free launch is awesome!

Taking our new to us 1993 Crownline the lake. Everything went great. My buddy Darrel showed me how to trim the motor and we got 52 mph top speed out of her.

1993 Crownline start up

Just starting up and running clean water after a run at the lake
If you're going to do that much pumping and priming with the throttle and still have the motor cover in place you best be using the bilge fresh air fan to purge possible gas fumes.
Blower should be on and he should be adjusting the throttle while trying to start it 😂
Can someone tell me why my 1992 Maxum mercuriser alpha one won’t crack unless put on neutral ? I pumped it then try to start it, it’s almost started few times and every try has black smoke came out and no success. Any idea? it’s parked 8months, on a slope drive way face downward. Thanks
sounds like it's time for a carb rebuild
Carbs Are Fine!!! He Said The Boat Has Not Been Started In Several Months!!! The Q-Jet Carb WILL Have NO Fuel In The Float Bowl After Sitting That Long!!!! Notice How It Started AFTER The Engine Was Cranked And The Fuel Pump Delivered Fuel To The Float Bowl!!! All The Pumping In The World Would Not Start A Dry Float Bowl!!!! We Have The Same Problem With Classic Car's!!! Drive Them Every Day And Have No Problem!!! Let Them Sit And The Float Bolw Will Dry Up Due To Evaporation Of The Gasoline!!!
Nice video don't forget to vent the engine compartment unless it the fourth of July then send it.
😂
I do pull handle out then handle up and down really fast but only going 1/4 down on the handle while hitting the key and she fires every time.
What about the blower?
I appreciate the video it just seems rather long you were laying on that starter ? . seems this motor wants no cooler than 75 frikking degrees to fire up without drama
Too many pumps
I take that handle and go up and down really fast on our 86 and she starts every time.
Good stuff man, thanks for the video
I’m a new subscriber love the content
Don’t do this
You forgot to tell people to Turn the blower motor on they are going to blow themselves up and then come see you lol
I have the exact same one. Same color and same cold start problem. i am going to adjust the throttle this weekend.. Love this boat.
My throttle doesnt have that throttle only button so I can't crank the motor unless it's clicked in neutral. Is there another way to partially open the throttle while starting?
You can spray Starting Fluid at the mouth of the carburetor.
Thanks! Wish me luck
Is that a Mariah Shabah?
lol, this video was actually pretty thrilling lol. Good vid, thanks for reminding a new boater about the throttle button. Do I hit that button on the first start of the day or every start?
@@user-pt3jd9kx4c lol well, I got on my boat for the first time on weds and it was a trip… I hit the button to start, that worked fine. I floated around in circles because I didn’t understand that I had to hold in the thumb n push forward from the 90degree angle. I kept thumbing the remote forward from the “low throttle” position lmao. After backing up full speed out of no where and scaring the crap out of me, then floating around in circles for another 10mins trying to figure out how I made it go backwards. I got it to go forward lmao. One thing I would like to ask is, I noticed my 2002 fourwinns does not have a battery off switch. Should I disc the battery when not in use??
Thank you ! New boat owner here you save my life making this video.I was having problems starting it..now im go thanks..
The best cure for this is to go buy a fuel primer bulb. Install between the fuel tank and fuel pump. Prime fuel to the carburator before starting. The engine will start first try every time.
i didn't know you can do this on boat not like lawn mower
@@vand.4474 I know that most outboards especially small ones have primer bulbs on the hose lines between the tank and the motor. I could see this benefiting greatly from a bulb also
Always turn on bilge blower before starting a gas powered boat.
If you’re a puss
I am what I eat...
Yes. If it's warm, and been running. You want to blow the fumes out of the engine compartment. However, if it's cold.... like in this video, then it doesn't matter. One more thing draining on a battery that is not charging. So.... no. Not until the next warm start.
@@jimmyz2098 tell that to the guys in the burn ward. Blower always
1st thing is TURN ON BILGE BLOWER AND LET IT EVACUATE GAS FUMES BEFOR YOU BLOW UP.
You should not have problem as it is idling for only 2 months. I can start mine boat after 1 year
How do you know if its flooded or isn't getting enough gas?
Experience
I have a 95 crownline and I usually pump the choke throttle while I am starting it. Seems to work a little faster, doesn’t really matter as long as it starts. It’s nice to see another crownline not turn over on the first couple turns. After the first start up it starts every time on the first turn.
I own the same boat ... That's a Chevy motor for you..
Which engine is this ? 5.0 , 5.7 ? Sounds really good.
