    My doctor told me that only ten percent of the cholesterol in my blood comes from the food I eat. I haven‘t gotten it below 195 yet on a plantbased diet. I wonder what would happen if I ate no sugar, no oil and no salt.

      You are correct in realizing that it is not just about having a plant-based, whole-foods diet. There are many variations of this type of diet, but most importantly, in order to get your cholesterol down you will need to avoid any added oils, and any plant foods with oils, like avocado, coconut, nuts, and seeds. I agree with no sugar, since excess sugar and excess carbohydrates are simply going to be converted to fats in your body. Make sure that you know the calorie needs for your age, size, and activity level. See: www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/weight-loss/in-depth/calorie-calculator/itt-20402304 to calculate what you need. Aim for 20% less each day if you are trying to lose weight. Some people have genes that keep their cholesterol high, above 150, no matter what they eat. The body makes cholesterol, even if we do not eat it in our diet. Avoiding the sugar and the added oils, but also consider avoiding the plants that also have fats, like avocado, coconut, nuts, and seeds for a month or so and have your cholesterol rechecked. Other plant foods that contain oils are corn and soy, but you will be severely limited if you avoid those also, so for now I would keep them in. Some people still need a statin (cholesterol lowering drug) to get their cholesterol below 150. Heart disease is extremely rare in those whose cholesterol is below 150. Red yeast rice is a supplement that can potentially lower cholesterol. According to ConsumerLab.com, the one made by HPF, called Cholestene is the safest, and has the most amount of the effective compound for lowering cholesterol in it, available at swansonvitamins.com for a reasonable price.

    Let’s just be a bit more clear what this evidence is. I’m guessing nobody randomly assigned different levels of learning over the life of people and then measured their brains. I’m guessing you have some correlation that people who do learning as an adult also have bigger brains or brains that grow. It doesn’t mean the learning causes the brain growth. Maybe people who experience brain growth choose to learn. Maybe being wealthy causes both things. Who knows? But if you are making a video about intelligence and learning, you need to do better than this pseudo science.

    I thought this was beautifully done. The information and the pictures you used to demonstrate a point were right on and very sweet. I only noticed one thing I would change. Most of the time your hands weren't visible but sometimes one would appear for just a second. Either they should be visible all of the time or not at all. I found it a little distracting.
