  • @WiltshireTutorials
    @WiltshireTutorials 6 месяцев назад

    You should put the retention bracket back on the GPU. You won't get enough mounting pressure to get good contact on the PNY cooler with just the screws alone. Should also look into 90 degree angle brackets to assist with more mounting pressure. Lastly, there are much better options for thermals pads than the ones that comes with the PNY cooler. They'll do the job just fine, but ThermalRight or Gelid pads will help drop the temps even more

    • @proxcrypto

      Yes it’s about 5-6 degrees with this aftermarket cooler on the core. Since the video I removed the shroud and just run a 120mm noctua fan on the cooler. I did it to make it silent but it lowered the temp a few more degrees and I have left it that way. Also the ram runs alot cooler with this setup it dropped 10-15 degrees depending on ambient temp.

    Hello sir, very nice video! But I have to remind you that this approach has potential security risks. As you can see, the original fan of APW7 only has two wires, which means it is a default full-speed fan and cannot realize PWM function, so it is quite noisy, but the reason for this design is that the internal step-down component generates a lot of heat (seriously )! Since you replaced the fan, there may be insufficient cooling, resulting in a safety risk. At the same time, if it is only for box series equipment, such modification is troublesome and expensive. There are more suitable and safe solutions!

    • @proxcrypto
      @proxcrypto Год назад

      Hey, the new fan has 3 wires, the extra wire for variable speeds is not used (no pin in plug), only the negative and full speed wire were used so fan runs full speed always. It has sufficient cooling capabilities on load tests. I only went to 1000watts on my tests as my 2 box miners only use 800watts.

If I was looking at gpus I’d try and find some cheap 3070s and mine a coin that’s more profitable and swap it to btc, you would yeild more on way less power. I use prohashing or unminable and it converts it automatically into your wallet so there is no swap fees. You can also do that with mini asics even if they are not mining Bitcoin you can get paid in btc at equal value. Bitcoin asics run over 3000watts and are very loud so if your going to mine btc that has to be taken into account if your smaller scale like myself. That’s how I’m doing it anyway, if I had the room I’d love to have a few Bitcoin asics but I can’t support the power draw and noise.

I was lucky enough to find someone that ran a facility with hundreds of servercases. They were selling out because they mined ethereum and paid most of the hardware off so everything was just getting cleared out as fast as possible.

      You can choose whatever algorithm you want on your gpus and it will auto convert it to ckb. I just used kapow algorithm in my video as an example but you can use any gpu algorithm you want to use. The profitability will depend on what algorithm you want to use.

      @@proxcrypto ok i figure out that part its nicehash thing. Can i use linux based OS for setup or its windows based?

      @@blekibabic it works on both. I’m currently running the prohashing pool on hiveos on my server miners and I’m running it on my windows computer also (the computer I used for the example in the video). basically it’s just giving you your .bat file or for hiveos your “flight sheet” and once you setup your payouts on the website on the payout page everything should be good to go.

    do you know if is possible to do the same work but on a 30mm fan for a power supply (i can 3d print 30mm to 40mm) i mean if is possible about V and A of the fan what happen if the power supply born with a fan with higer V and A of the noctua one?

      Hello, the fan will pull the voltage it requires, so my noctua fans are rated for less watts and amps then the factory fan in my powersupply but once connected they only pull the power they require from the powersupply. So if you should be ok to swap out for a fan that uses the same or less power. You just never want to install a fan rated at a higher power level or you could burn out the fan controller because it will try to pull more power then the stock fan was rated for.
