Singer Stylist code C4
I've seen a lot of videos on the Singer sewing machines and tips on how you might be able to fix a code C4. The biggest question is , "where is the belt?" I decided to take my machine apart today to see if my belt was indeed off and show everyone where it is. Hope this helps you.

The handle wont turn the motor belt in the forward or "toward you" direction. The motor drives that belt. This allows you to manually operate the machine with handwheel, but under power (foot pedal or start/stop button) motor operates the pulley that the belt goes around.
i got exactly the same problem like you with my singer 6699. error c4 shows, the belt is okay, the dial normally moving backward but it can not moving forward.. so desperate..☹️🤷♀️
Mine was saying c4 and it appeared that the needle was basically stabbing the silvery part the silver cover got shifted a little bit so i just took the two screws out and slid the silver part down a bit so the needle will go straight thru the hole (if this is the same thing thats happening to you)
This seems to be a common problem with the singer machines. Anyone know if there's a class action or replacement program?
Hi; mine has code E1, would you know what it is?
It may be something to with the the mechanism that disengages the handwheel when winding a bobbin. See this video on AndyTube. ruclips.net/video/vkvXkb6Lemw/видео.html
Hi I have the same problem, did you fix yours? I’m still trying to figure out lol
Hi Yennifer! I never did find out what was happening. The only connection was the foot pedal and so the wires may have come loose when it was plugged in. Perhaps you can try a different pedal? It was the only thing that I regret not trying before I gave my machine away to someone who loves to tinker with broken machines. Please let me know the outcome.

@@taliyahchavon1691 please tell me WHICH 2 screws. I have the same problem, thread is being caught by the silvery 'half moon' thing and I am really desperate after HOURS trying to figure out how to make that stop happening
@@RyeMithe 2 screws on the plate ? My sewing machine is doing that too that’s why the C4 code is coming up. But the sewing plate doesn’t move far.
My machine is doing the same thing- but only after 3 minutes of working perfectly- then it jams every time!!! Ugh
Have you been able to resolve this? maybe there is something wrong with the motor or foot peddle's or the connection between the two.
Hello there. After many hours of cleaning and playing with the tension, changing bobbins, etc. I was never able to fix my problem.
Hi there @@charitydelmonte9364 , that's a shame hope you have better luck with you new machine.
