Where is my northbound 101 on-ramp at Hopper Ave Santa Rosa city counsel???
❤
I grew up in Santa Rosa and skated here from '95-'00. Put in thousands of hours at this park. Feel like it raised me in a way. Big shout out to whoever made this video. This was a beautiful homage to a really special place. Love seeing the next generation keep the energy alive!
Some of my fave memories of taking you there! Somebody filmed me playing my dobro there once; never saw the vid. Thanks for letting me know about this!
They need to put taller buildings in downtown Santa rosa
I wonder what time did the Sebastopol road area start to decline . It's the worse part of town it used to have a bowling alley and albersons
Hey this my town
at 7:07 they show the Hoge House, Santa Rosa's oldest house, it's lon gone now, only thing left is the front door, great move Santa Rosa, and dose not show Homeless Squair
The town lost the small town charm of the 60’s and 70’s
Mom loved to take me me and brother downtown. I remember the big red letters of the Kress 5 & dime store. That was 67.
it should go back to being hidden. it sucks.
Why? Did you fall of your bike and someone laughed at you? 😂😂😂 We aren’t a bad town, we just have some rude ass people.
@@winniethepooh8861 it's pretty shit guy.
This is an awesome video!
This is so cool . I grew up at this park. this video makes me wanna cry. now i'm 34 and I dont live there anymore, but it will always be in my heart.
Anyone know where Bill is now?
Meh.... There is an entire country to explore and enjoy. Please I implore everyone to get outside of the Sonoma County bubble and see the world. I have lived in the county for over 25 years and there are much much better parts of the county than the city of SR. If you don’t believe me go see the new courthouse square. (Bland and mundane at best.)If you have never been to the county go to the upper Russian River or better yet the lower. Go over to the east side of the county and explore the creek beds. Of course there is the west county with its funk and amazing U.S. 1 with the many public beaches and amazing ocean views. But most of all Sonoma county is over rated and over priced. Anyone with an inkling to explore the world will find that a short drive through Napa will bring them to I80 and there you will find prices to be dramatically lower for even the most common items. From there a person can drive for days seeing amazing sights for a fraction of the cost. California does have a certain charm , but please do not think that there are not spectacular places from coast to coast.
I love the narrator, he sounds just like me! Wait a minute, he is me!
I was thinking the same thing! COOL! :)
Oh wow
Bruhhhhhhhhhhh
What year was this video shot?
I can see my house lol

I love santa rosa but I can't stand downtown. It's just ugly and not really a place for people to interact if that makes sense
The 4th street area is very nice with history behind it except for the homeless problem
Downtown doesn’t make sense if you are driving me, but walking through it is easier. I am able to walk all around dt and walk back to the plaza and then home. You just have to get used to it. And learn how to avoid certain types of people. I have lived here my whole life so when I look at someone I know where I need to avoid them or not. It’s an acquired skill, just like navigating dt
My dads part of the family has beeen here since they first got to america in the 1890s a.d in the 70s my moms family moved here
I was raised on those paint chips! Wasn't element SLAYER for a brief moment? Or have i endured too many paint chips? Or! BOTH!?
Wow...soooo surreal to see! Just popped up in 'suggested youtube vids'...Geez, I was born here, lived here, married and we have 2 young adult kids now- (who I will have watch this vid on big tv)..stuff is different now even from when vid was made...Iam very glad it was made when it was : ) Tubbs fires and lots of growth or actually, rebuilding of places that burnt in fires(Oct 2017) has changed-alot. I miss seeing Round barn, and familiar things I grew up seeing - fires took. But it still is pretty- Hills here healing from fire path. Hwy 12 is my stomping ground ; Hood mtn, and Sugarloaf, Jack London a bit out of town. But true, history I didn't even know of, mentioned in vid! Luv it! 😍( not to mention Luther Burbank, Charles Schultz, Jack London etc luved it here too! 🌸💗) Wish it was a bit more affordable as far as rents etc, go- those of us raised here, but didn't buy a home....now its very pricey. But Santa Rosa is in me, even if we ever move~
I love it! Thanks for making and sharing this. Btw, Can I get your permission to use a screencap of the park as shown in your video for a FaceBook page? I'm trying to get folks organized to help build a new skatepark or three in Santa Rosa. facebook.com/SRSkateparkCoalition
I love Santa Rosa some of the best biking outside of S.F.
Can't wait to get the hell out of here. This sad little town is overrun by homeless people and liberal apologists.
Good riddance you fascist pig, no one wants you here.
One more house available and who knows maybe the person who moves in won't be an entitled fascist crybaby.
@@TheGre3nT3am you can have this shitty fucking town. Only shame is they finally put the fires out.
It's really not that bad lmao.
That Guy - I have memories from a lifetime here, but true, folks arent very warm? It is changed in odd ways to me-whats with the downtown thing where you can't drive straight through Mendo ave?? courthouse square? I forget and have to loop all around it (I dont have gobs of time, hubby in a braintumor experience so I have to rush errands). I love and also dislike alot of stuff now. I still love having Hood mountain and Jack London near (though dont hike like we were able, pre tumor)...but iam not happy at all seeing young folks our kids age 21-24 etc have no place to be independant?? unless bunches of em all share rent in a small place-how are younger folks(let alone us middle agers) even dream of buying here? Hubby is from Louisiana, we are reallyyyyy thinking about alot of stuff. A move would be hard, but keeping up on rent increases and such is really a big anx causer. that part is just sad and odd. Pushed out of where I have lived all my life. And lord if you mention having family in military you get(or I notice), the 'ew you have military family members?' look. That makes me sad too. Good luck, if you move, I get it for sure, and hope you find a less $$ spot where you can actually save some money for later years~ We sure are in that boat ourselves 🌻
VIGOROUS GROWTH
Grew up in Santa Rosa 60s and 70s. Our family fled for the midwest in 1980 so we could afford to buy a very large farm. I very much miss Santa Rosa and the beautiful weather and the countryside. Everyone says never go back because its not the same, you will be saddened how it has turned out.
It has changed alot. Iam same, except my gram and gramp hadn't bought a big place, but they had a happy home. It is different as far as moods I notice. Folks not as warm as in past? & reallyyyyy expensive to buy a modest home now. Which is weird, soooo many homes lost in Tubbs fires. that was scary and though here all my life, never-went through such scare. (off calistoga rd). And such loss. That is super hard. My aunt's where we had holiday time?? Coffee park-woop, gone.(rebuilding fast there I notice tho, thats good)... Up over Fountaingrove is barren ..some building happening(not sure why, fire flew so fast from our Rincon Valley area to Fountaingrove and through to old kmart and into tons of other homes...to build up on F. grove, is ??? to me) But other stuff like ole coddingtown is there and even Snoopys ice arena was ok-so thats good to still see. And JC too. There are happy places still; but yes, whats gone is really weird still (to me, memories). Its worth a trip sometime if you ever are in this area again. Happy stuff, but changed stuff too~
It still looks the same in the McDonald area It’s beautiful with all the old historical houses there Especially the McDonald mansion
So did I born in 63 Santa Rosa Memorial
@@aprilchronister9980 my father owned a home on Markwest road it burned down.
I visited Santa Rosa in May this year from Australia & loved it!!! Even though there was still evidence of the recent fires, it felt to me like a city that can come back from the ashes due to community pride. I found the people very welcoming & kind, especially regarding my Aussie accent. I can’t wait to come back again soon ❤️
hahahaha, not really.
Thank you for hosting, my family and I loved Santa Rosa and would love to return again!!!!!!

Wonderful!
Awesome commercial, especially when shown during the Amgen Tour of California, during the Santa Rosa stage. Great Song !

Still no mention of the photographer. Shame on Tyler Young for using 7 of my photos without mention. EVEN after I insisted there be some credit if he was going to use them.
Nicely done
Santa Rosa is a place for those whose cravings for adventure go beyond the conventional. To that we say... (watch video) www.srcity.org/OutThere
Nice shot guys!
