In particular, I was moved by the way black and white images of you both as performers, especially moments that zero in on your hands, juxtaposed to images of street protest, evoke the day by day demand to attend to and engage with the building blocks of democratic culture. From both the music and images I felt a call to honor and celebrate those dramatic moments of bravery, risk and personal sacrifice of these young people, but also the need to put our shoulders to the wheel of vigilance and resistance in our daily lives as artists.
