We had a PO1 who was missing part of a little finger(before he got in). So when new people would come to their first line detail we would ask if they remembered this video then the PO1 would show the finger and say "This is what happen when you don't."

My favorite and hated rifle at the same time. Favorite - because it has good accuracy and grouping(and it just looks cool). Hated - because compared to other rifles, for modern realities it is too long, with a non-adjustable butt and quite heavy - ~4,6 kilograms with a loaded magazine and C79A2 scope.

Question: would anyone be able to provide a list for all the most common Soundtracks used in DND/CF Doctrinal videos? I'm considering trying to remake them in Arma 3 using Modern CAF equipment.

Private Davis is a cutie. But I digress. This video does not accurately represent how things really would have gone down in real life - it's all been toned down. After the rifle went off, the first thing the master corporal would have done is come roaring out of the shack screaming, "WHAT IN THE LIVING FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?! WHO FIRED THAT ROUND?!" A lot of yelling and screaming in the OC's office would have ensued. The company sergeant major would have dressed down Private Cowan for sure. Pte Davis would not and should not have been charged with anything, but only brought in as a witness. She did not cause the negligent discharge, but tried to prevent it. Being responsible for range safety, she should have reported the live round immediately, though. The master corporal would be facing the most serious charge of all - negligent performance of duties. I doubt they would have punished him with only a partial stoppage of pay. They might have sent him to the service detention barracks in Edmonton for 30 days and then temporarily reduced his rank. In any case, it would have been a big black mark in his service record and would have retarded his career progression for a while. In addition, counselling his subordinates to cover up the matter was also a grave offence.

When the cop says that policing is one of the "hardest" professions, how does he think Indigenous people feel when they're walking alone down the street, especially at night, and are approached by two large and usually extremely aggressive people with lethal weapons, and with the authority to kill them if they feel "threatened?" They're the ones who are afraid and have a hard time, not the cop with the badge and the gun and the full force of the law behind them.

the CAR was undisciplined and morally corrupt. Even before the Somalia torture killings, there were problems with the CAR and there were those who spoke against their deployment to Somalia for these reasons. In Somalia they disgraced themselves. They were disbanded for a reason.

In the late 80s, when I took my MG course in the CAF, I had a REALLY dumb sergeant who couldn't do maths, trying to explain the cone of fire dispersion pattern and the ballistic trajectory of a round in the air. He probably messed up half of the unit with his F'ed-up numbers and weird results. I tried talking to him in private after the second class, but it just got him, pissed off at me, and he took away my week-end. I REALLY didn't want people serving on an MG that didn't know their shiat and could make deadly mistakes (and I felt slighted, like a 19-year-old can), so I just went ahead and told him in front of everyone the next class, and he couldn't back down anymore. He tried to get me taken off the course, but it got out of hand and I wound up in front of a captain who listened to me, understood the maths and the importance of getting it right, that even after I talked to the guy and showed him his counting issue, he wouldn't do the right thing. And we had a new instructor the next day. But, every NCO around wanted to skin me alive, so that turned out to be the last time I ever corrected anyone with a higher rank. Some of them have way more pride than common sense, and that bunch was the LAST wave of uneducated people in our military. It changed from a grade 9 minimum to a high school degree minimum soon after, and officers needed a university degree, where they only needed a high school diploma before. The quality of leaders went up after that. But education is sadly not always a guarantee of character, so we still had some dumb arseholes, just more educated ones.

It is a fine rifle. A shame that we (in the US) cannot receive Canadian-made barrels. I'm told they're some of the strongest and most accurate for AR construction.
