Really glad I stumbled upon this interview. I am a big Hostetler fan, he played for both my NCAA and NFL teams. I never thought too highly of Parcels because he never gave Hostetler a shot.

I love Tony ... he is so funny.... I love how he will not take it... Just like he was born here... BUT he was not born here ... and down deep inside he does root for Syracuse.... LOL!!! Paying kids bothers the crap out of me, hate it. They get scholarships, first rate facilities, exposure, training and all the tail they can handle. Hundereds of thousands for a single player, some more is ruining college sports... but some kids go to war, get body and minds ruined in cases, and we get the va hospital.. seems cool

Lets see how Wren Baker does before we hand him a trophy ..... Neal Brown could be a winner this year ....but State Penn does not respect WVU or Neal Brown ( scoring with 6 seconds in the game-- if WVU could do anything to stop them, they should have) WVU basketball is coming as well ( lets see who we do) Baseball season has a new coach so lets see..... How weak is a coach to point out WVU hasn't beaten State Penn that often.... I would love to ask WVU nation a question , How often did WVU play State Penn with Pat White , Marc Bulger , Geno Smith , Clint Trickett, or during the 90's to early 2000's ? Hmmm.... sure Neal Brown in the early 1900s they beat us often.... and last year while you were head coach and you might be the reason they will play us now.... could any of these facts be true... Every day is a new Day ... State Penn is 7th to 9th in the country and they are supposed to beat WVU handley at our place... any coach can lose to a top ten team starting the season off.... its the good ones see an opportunity like Don Nehlen did every time he took the field against the big boys.... I am holding my trophy for Wren Baker back until I see more from his body of work.

We should seek to fund a new private trust/endowment/fund which is managed by high-end quantitative portfolios. Then use 70-90% of annual returns from that endowment to help fund CRT. Holding 10-30% of those returns back to ensure the trust/fund is growing every year and to have extra put back should there be a year when performance was a little below average. Quality quantitative equity models outperform SP500 with less risk and far more consistency. Many producing between 13-25% annually(with 20 yr averages being in the 15%-18% range) depending on market conditions and how the models are customized for specific performance preferences. Particularly multi-value based quantitative equity models applied to equity index etfs & large cap / blue chip stocks. These types of multifactorial value based quantitative concepts offer a characteristics that organically keep pace to slightly under perform in strong bullish conditions, however significantly outperform in most other conditions. Exploiting a diverse array of market conditions & variations of value. Many of which mathematically guarantee a lower risk profile than a apples to apples comparison of a buy & hold of the same assets with much higher consistency, liquidity, & growth. This is something most people are not aware nor properly informed+educated. The best strategists in the world are not public figures/funds that accept outside capital. Many work as CIO's or Head Strategists for family offices or private funds. Because performance is so robust there is no need to pursue outside capital. WVU+CRT could pursue a private fund managed by a quality quantitative strategist / CIO. Push hard to fund the private entity with $25m-$50m+, then allow the fund to compound for a few years before its drawn upon. One could also incrementally increase the % of annual return thats used to allow the fund to compound more quickly over the first 3-5 years. The goal to get to $100m as soon as possible, so the private fund would offer $10m-$20m every year that wont need to come from individual boosters, donors, etc every single season. Instead of being in a cycle of having to raise millions and millions every year, we could push really hard for this type of structure so those funds can be put to work and leveraged for a more long term benefit instead of a 1 off every year. Over time, this could be the only source of outside funds needed. 10-15 years down the road this could be enough funds to be in the top 10 in NIL, top 10 in staff comp, while also meeting the max revshare. Essentially it would be its own outside revenue source, however a secondary+separate source not included in actual revshare. We have to be more creative in our solutions to compete with programs with far larger or wealthier fanbases. Allowing us to not just keep our heads above water but to thrive.

You know, if we had more suites and high end seats, that would open up some of the better standard seats for people that would like to upgrade their season ticket packages and be willing to pay more in MAC donations to get them.

Semi pro sports is way to expensive and non sustainable in our current climate ! can see crash and burn coming down the road ! No guard rails at high speed just doesnt work ! Enonomy doesnt represent this kind of spending , especially in our state , have fun now because this is set up for failure ! Why doesnt WV have pro sports ? All about the money ! SMH !
