It is incredible how they made the hand drawn 3D graphics. True 3D. Not 2D with depth as all other animation films.

((🎄)) I really would like to see one of the cable networks to show this on regular television during christmas eve or Christmas day. If they did, I believe a lot of people would really like this and yes even the younger generation. That's if they would have a chance. They do play a few Christmas cartoons and that on television but they don't play a lot of them the way they use to any more, still I am very grateful for the ones we do get to watch yet during the holidays.

I don't know what made me think of this film. My mother would rent this for me every winter when I was younger starting around the age of 4. The main thing I remembered "what was that animated film with the snowman and and the motorcycle". Not gonna lie, this has me balling my eyes out, remembering what it was like to take so much joy in renting a VHS from the local library and watching a ridiculous animated film of a snow man that comes to life and entertains a child, life being simpler and the world hadn't gone to complete…well you know. Im 40 now and hope to one day share this with a child of my own.

I wish to book it should be a live action movie

This was a movie that my Grandma and I used to watch every Christmas when I was a kid. It is a very special film to me but even more so now because Grandma passed away just this past November. I could not watch the ending without tearing up. With the music and the imagery of the melted snowman, it was just too much for me to handle. Sorry for the buzzkill comment but typing this out was comforting to me. If you lost someone this year then my heart goes out to you and I hope you are finding good way to cope.

I have a book with the same story from the 1950s. It was my favourite book as a child, but I can't find anything out about it as the front cover is missing. I don't know the author. It's exactly the same story: a snowman is built, it comes alive, they fly through the air, they go to a snowman party, the snowman melts in the morning. I wish I could find out more

I remember watching this in elementary school. However, I don't recall any narration. In fact, I watch this every year around Christmas and this is the first time that I can say that I have heard this version. How, after 34 years of seeing this amazing short film/cartoon every year, am I just finding this particular version? I am utterly astonished. I feel cheated. But now, as an adult, I am blessed, because I finally came upon this version on Christmas. To all those reading this, I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas. As well as a wonderful Holiday. We bought The Snowman book and read it to my children the year it came out. We would then ritually watch the film on TV every Christmas. Those memories still bring a tear to my eye even now.

It's Christmas morning 2023 and my 17mo daughter just sat on my lap engrossed in this through its entirety. She never sits still for more than two minutes. Pure Christmas magic 🥹

We have watched this every Christmas since it was made. A wonderful family joining point! It did not used to be narrated - just the beauty of it to internalize it quietly. It means so much more without the words, because you make your own.

I used to watch this when i was young for the video tape. This video has a special atmosphere, i love it. I still remember the specific scence vividly. That's why I'm here in 2023, from Korea.

I've watched this every Christmas Eve since 1982. And i'm happy to say that I shall carry on for rhe rest of my days. The perfect Christmas present. Thank you Raymond Briggs & Bernard Cribbins.☃️☃️

Thanks for sharing. I love the narrated version. The only thing that’s missing is the final bit of narration which comes over the music of the credits. My favourite bit of the audio version.

I was born this year and on the vcr my mother used to play this with me this was my first story still hold myself in it my favorite the standard the music in the end I cried a lot when the snowman melted so beautiful simple days

I like this version even better than the silent original. I'm assuming Bernard Cribbins was reading from the book.

I could see how long the creator use to make this, the animation was great and I hope everyone watching this will praise the creator for how long he worked for this, god bless the creator and let him rise to the great and bright heaven:)
