serve - great tip to increase power on serve
Просмотров 3489 лет назад
In this video I show your one of the most important parts of the serve, which is too make sure the arm is nice and relaxed through the loop down the back, this give a longer swing, plus allows you the racquet head to move faster, as tight muscles can't move fast.
Forehand - Make sure you grip and technique match
Просмотров 7049 лет назад
In this I explain the importance of matching your grip with the forehand technique you use because if you hold a racquet like Federer and try and swing like Nadal and visversa, you are going to have a very bad forehand.
Serve - How to make your practice count
Просмотров 3459 лет назад
In this video I explain that just hitting a spot with your serve is ineffective, because you could hit that spot with a swing or topspin serve, with the result being over a 4 metre area where the returner would hit the ball, if you place targets at the baseline this makes you have to hit the correct spin as well as hit your spot in the service box to get the result you want, making you practice...

Nice video
That was a great serve
Thank you, starting my 3.5 year old soon, wasn’t sure how to get her interested!
☝️🎾😀❤
I love how little you focused on hands and how the racket is held and its motion, and instead mostly on reading the bounce and moving. Thanks!
I used to focus on technique straight away and we ended up with lots of kids with good looking swings, that couldn't play and the retention wasn't very good, now we focus on early success and when they move up to orange ball we get stuck into technique, retention is vastly improved and we are producing the most super 10 kids in SA

Very helpful thanks Peter.
Swing doesn't look compact to me
Awesome!
Great. I like tennis!
Orange ball green ball red ball blue ball. So many players used YELLOW balls and learned to play the game.quite well.
Thats true Dave, but when i learned ( a long time ago), most the kids started playing around 9rs old and where very coordinated from playing outside all the time, instead off playing inside on a computer, today the kids are starting at 5-6 yrs old with bad co-ordination, believe me, the coloured balls really help getting the kids to succeed quicker, so enjoying it more, so keep playing,.
@@ClarkstennisAus yes, this is true
Great video! What is a good racket you would recommend for a 4 year old?
just get a 19 inch, aluminium, from either Babolat, Wilson, Head. Yonex, Dunlop, they don't need graphite racquets until they start playing with normal, yellow balls, should cost around $35-40 Australian dollars
Putting the weight whether on his right leg or not depends on the kind of ball you are receiving. Any modern players play with both open and neutral stand... the power on which leg really depends on your stand... you will easily find videos of him stepping in, using his left leg to generate the power he needs to win a point. So this point is irrelevant
Great drill. To make it even better I would have the parent add some backspin to the ball... In a real match, the opponent chips the ball and you come in to put it away. Cheers.
This is really helpful! I'd like to get my little niece and nephew started with tennis, and this gives me some great ideas.
HANNAH
So did you recognise the young Diana

Awesome video, love how you mention the extension through the contact zone
Great description
Very helpful thank you
Excellent tips, I'm trying to coach my daughter who is 4.5 and its quite difficult to come up with fun drills. I've spent a lot of my life on a tennis court but hitting 100+ balls in a row maybe worked for me as a 14 year old doesn't really work for her. Trying to keep it fun while not goofing off too much
Karl at 4.5 its all about fun, if she has fun, she will want to keep playing, the more she wants to play the better she gets, just add little tips into the fun activities and she will learn without knowing it.

I noticed in this video that Djok FH takeback, his elbow is about the same level as his shoulders. But in more recent videos I've watched he has a lower elbow on his FH take back? Also what is your opinion on low and high elbow take back.
+Jack - Jack all players will vary their take back height depending on the height of the ball, if contact is around your knees, then you elbow would only be around waist height, a general rule would be that the elbow should be a bit higher than contact, this allows you to gain momentum in the racquet drop, which also keeps the swing fluid, which will increase the power in the shot. So a low elbow on a high ball is wrong and visversa, so for a ball like the one in the video, the shoulder high elbow is what I would recommend. Hope this helps
The elbow take back height, depends on the height of contact, higher for high balls, lower for low balls
Nailed it! Finally. Glad to hear someone else say it. Good on ya!
I am curious that when the ball contact the racket at that position my wrist felt very pain.is that an injury or anything?
jaz fang its hard to say without seeing you hitting the ball, but if you are using a continental grip and hitting in this position you will definitely feel pain in your wrist, Novak uses a western style grip which needs to made contact with the ball well out in front, a continental grip needs to have contact closer to the body, if you can somehow get me a video of you hitting the ball, I could let you know if the reason for your pain is in your technique. Hope this helps Try to down load a video and give me the link Peter Clark
do you have e-mail?so that i can send u

Good analysis and suggestions mate!
@@ClarkstennisAus Dear Peter, is the wrist as well relaxed at contact? Without a ball in front of a mirror I can simulate the technique, but with the ball my wrist and arm is very stiff, sucks. How can I control the ball with a rekaxed wrist? Thank you, Mike
This was our first tennis Whizz lesson, which are designed for 3&4 yr olds, it was a great success with lots of laughs and smiles
