Two hours to the UCL final Inter - Man city while I'm writing this, pressure is high and I suddenly remember about this movie and this song. As an inter fan I see my team as underdog as man city at the time, while man city much different than that, today is a money empire. Do you believe? Yes I do believe 🤞🏻
Do you believe Do you believe the world turns around Do you believe Are your feet stood on the solid ground Do you believe Do you think that you would told the truth Do you believe Did you ask to see the proof I don't know I can't see Hm I can wait For you and me If I look to you the sky If I look to you the sky Will I see in you somewhere Or see in your eyes Am I the one The one that you've been waiting for When I'm gone Will you still be wanting more I don't know I can't see Hm I can wait For you and me If I look to you the sky If I look to you the sky Will I see in you somewhere Or see in your eyes If I look to you the sky If I look to you the sky Will I see in you somewhere Or see in your eyes

Hey, I understand your point. But what do you mean by meaningless wins? You think that if they got more time to process their economic wealth into the Premier League they would have got "real fans"? Like staying quite for 5 years, no big wins, 0 cups, buying just 2-3 players from Spain, building just one training ground and keeping the old style low fabric t-shirts would have somehow brought more credibility to the club, more respect, attract real fans ??? Because, you know, after all, big clubs got big money too and all the time. What keeps the real tifo alive are memories and history. Chelsea got money and their plastic fans but it's seems to me that they got their time to build their own history, even if it there has been huge achievements in record time. While City came and destroyed the Premier League as the main contender... That's the only way I can see your comment otherwise I don't really understand your analogy here. Btw I'm just Jimmy fan not city..
When I was 12 me and my dad used to watch this film almost every week on TV. I felt really connected to the film, like it was almost about me. Over 15 years ago, My school at the time was one of the best in London and we won pretty much everything, kids always getting scouted. we actually played in exactly the same kit, it was so strange, only difference was it was rugby style collars. The pitches were exactly the same in this picture, pure mud, hardly any lines. So nostalgic, the boots, the hard nuts, the traditional English football values, the pure obsession of the game for a boy in his early teens, the adversity of being a small lad and the presumptions that you must be crap, and having to prove yourself, it was a jungle. And I loved it. Step for step I had pretty much the same journey as Jimmy, except I used to wear old school 90s tiempos my dad got for a fiver in the sale. Some of the best moments in my life was wearing that sky blue school kit and representing my school running my socks off for every loose ball against defenders twice my height. Character building some might call it I suppose. Our team coach was proper scary, We had no priveledge but that was fine. I think we were the last of our generation to experience and learn the game this way, the old school. Kids these days will never know.. 😏
I wish football could go back to the days were there wasnt so much money. Were players actually cared were we listened to matches on rhe radio, were we could afford to buy match tickets. Were there was some passion.
If you want, you can sing through lyrics which I myself typed down; Do you believe Do you believe the world turns around Do you believe Are your feet stood on the solid ground Do you believe Do you think that you would told the truth Do you believe Did you ask to see the proof I don't know I can't see Hm I can wait For you and me If I look to you the sky If I look to you the sky Will I see in you somewhere Or see in your eyes Am I the one The one that you've been waiting for When I'm gone Will you still be wanting more I don't know I can't see Hm I can wait For you and me If I look to you the sky If I look to you the sky Will I see in you somewhere Or see in your eyes If I look to you the sky If I look to you the sky Will I see in you somewhere Or see in your eyes
Jimmy grimble is amazing, I cry every time I hear this song, I play football for district and used to play for euro dagenham, this song reminds of all I have done, I am proud and honoured, but also sad as it is done now. I love this this song and film

Man City died when they got money. Meaningless wins

So so good. Not many songs stir up emotions like this one. (Perhaps cause I've seen Jimmy >100 times.) Imo this song should have 60m+ views

I first watched this movie 13 years ago around like 2010 December. It was a long time ago.
I grew up watching it my uncle graham was the bin wagon driver when Gordon throws his boots away
I was 10 years old at that time when I first watched it.
Greenock High School on the bus is named after Robert Carlyles missus who went there. Home town team is the famous Greenock Morton.
