Strangely, I prefer this game to the second, purely for just how primitive and rustic the graphics looked. It always takes me back to happier times, so I may be slightly biased :P The controls are twitchy as balls, though. No idea if the PC version was better, never had the opportunity to try that one yet

Well, they're two completely different styles of game, hard to make a direct comparison. Colin McRae is more 'simulation' for its time, whilst this is pure arcade goodness.

Well, they made Destruction Derby Raw a few years after, but it didn't have that same feel to it. With it being passed over to Studio 33, it just lacked that Psygnosis flair. The physics has that feel of the Eutechnyx games - floaty and all over the place

Yeah, that's why I only showed the singular team car rather than both cars running the same livery, which would've been pointless. Shame the Pug isn't in the roster, though. I do love that classic Ultron livery they used. Ironically, that particular Opel I have a small model of, which I completely forgot I owned. The biggest improvement they made, though, from the first game is the AI cars aren't duplicated. On the first game I picked the #15 Alfa Romeo, which was also still on the grid driven by the AI. Thankfully they fixed that for the second. Besides the bugs it's still a solid game. Hopefully I can do a short championship run and get that uploaded as well, just to show off what the game has to offer. We'll see! Thanks for the comment! :D

I think the devs just gave up after a while and thought 'To hell with it, that'll do!'. It sure feels that way haha

SPAIN is just a shorter Phillip Island (look at how it has the 1st 4 corners, then just skips the middle sector) KENYA is just a weird reinterpretation of Brno USA's technical sector is from the F1 version of the track in Buenos Aires... and the rest is actually unique

@@DiegoRuiz1991 Funnily enough, the same short course for 'Spain' was used in Ducati World Championship on the PC, which does look like a miniaturised Phillip Island if you squint really hard

@@DansDrivethru - Milestone's illegal replicas are probably the best In Superbikes Riding Challenge and Evolution GT, almost all "street tracks" are in the shape of famous tracks including Imola, Phillip Island, Nurburgring, Kyalami and Sugo

I never played the first game prior to this one. I remember vividly my brother coming back from town with the game and we spent days just trying to make it through the divisions. Fantastic memories! I didn't get my grubby little mitts on the first DD until 2000 or 2001. Although it was a massive downgrade from the sequel, I still found it very enjoyable. The tightness of the tracks were a bit of a pain, and the handling characteristics were a bit dodge, but it was still fun! Not much in the way of replayability, though. Thanks for the comment! It's lovely hearing others' memories from these classic games and to revisit that past nostalgia of better times!

Hello! Nope I'm British. And for some reason trying to load Linköpings caused the game to completely crash. no clue as to why

Edit: I think Linköpings only works with the Formula cars you unlock after completing the main STCC campaign. Trying to use the touring cars or Camaros causes the game to lock up. I'll have to test this when I eventually complete the campaign over on the main channel

For me that was always the optimal way of getting the required points. I'm sure there's better methods, though!

This is an F1 game that should be shot into the sun! However, they did make a PC version back in 1998 called Johnny Herbert's Grand Prix Championship, which is similar but more fun. They just reused all their assets for these really crap 'games'

It still holds up really well even for today's standards, and still a blast to play!
