Skylight Calendar Review from Mom of 4
I’m a mom of 4 and keeping all my kids’ activities and chores organized along with my own was chaotic before when we were using various chore charts for the kids, then my own calendar for my tasks. Now all our tasks, appointments, meal plans, and lists are in one place! I can access these things from my phone, assign tasks to different t members of the family, and plan ahead.
Perk? It doubles as a digital picture frame! When you’re mortgaging the calendar or lists it will display all your family’s photos and videos. You can easily add new photos and videos by sending them to your profile from your phone.

We have used this nursery for babies 3 and 4. Can you believe it was bright blue and yellow when we first moved in? I changed it to this more muted and vintage Winnie the Pooh theme, and have so enjoyed this space. Just started homeschooling this year! Looking into buying the skylight. But my question is can I just buy a tablet and mount it on the wall? Is the app you're using to organize yourself available in play store and can be used on other devices?
Hey Laura! Congrats on beginning your homeschool journey! It’s such a blessing. I love your idea. I think though that the skylight app is only available with purchase of a skylight or if someone shares their skylight family calendar with you. If I remember correctly, I gained access to it after purchasing the skylight. But I could be wrong! Maybe try to get on the iTunes Store to buy it! It’s $40 a year.

What about ur kids water bottles? Drinks for ur kids? What is they get to hot they need to go inside. Do I have a fan or something to shade them from the sun.?
Yep! They have thermoses they carry outside since they won’t all fit into the caddy. We also keep a 5 gallon or 2 gallon drink dispenser full of water or an electrolyte drink and ice outside for them to refill their drinks outside. As far as shade…no fan but we have plenty of shade with trees and umbrellas and we do take breaks coming inside throughout the day for lunch and naps 😉

Hi Sandra, thanks for subscribing-I’m glad you’re here! Yes, you can use honey to can any fruit. Sugar helps foods not turn brown and helps with sweetness but doesn’t help with the actual preservation of the fruit. You can just do water if you don’t want any added sweetness with fruits or switch to another sweetener such as honey. Just use a recipe so the PH has the correct acidity.

I do 4wks on 1 wk off and I just line it up so that we have thanksgiving week off and Dec 24-Jan 1 off and then we get a 3wk “summer” break. Typically start the second wk of July and end the middle of June. That also gives me 20 extra days off for sickness days or I can also do no school every other Friday

Thanks for your kind words! Yes it really is. For years I tried to force myself to use planners I thought I should use for homeschool and it felt like a chore! Cutting all the extra was better for me.

Thank you for sharing your viewpoint on year-round schooling. I appreciate your point about wanting your children to be lifelong learners. That is what I seek as well in my homeschool, and we do year-round too, with a 4 day work week, and light Fridays, as we prepare for Sabbath on Saturday, with a few times off through the year, based on what our needs are. We also do a 1-month break at the end of our year. I'm going to be trying the Sabbath schedule 6 weeks on, and 1 week off this school year too. It seems like that will be nice to have those longer breaks, especially to get lengthier tasks done around the house. During our summer break, I still keep them engaged with reading, and teaching, and sometimes my little one, will ask me to do some work, so it's great, when they enjoy learning, and it definitely helps with keeping an order to things, and with behavior/activity levels. I definitely enjoy homeschooling content, so please do share more on that.
