Friday Night Food Trucks in San Tan Valley - Queen Creek Arizona
A sampling of the kinds of menu items most of the food trucks offer.
I went too fast past some, too slow on others.
The idiot doing the video kept putting his fingers near the lens.
I had the BBQ ribs with Collard Green & Corn Bread and I had mini donuts for dessert. The event also has music and tables and chairs and lights but many people got food to go since temperatures were kind of toasty hot.

Our cats ran to the door to see what was making the strange sounds. At first I thought it was a bullfrog or toad. I slowly opened the door see the beak clearly enough. What do you think? Crow or raven? The vocalizations change towards end of the video.

CorelDraw X5 Import Jitters screen problem. This happens on two different monitors. Tried updating Intel video drivers but no change. Import still works - the video just gets jittery for a couple seconds, then I can select files. Tried numerous screen resolutions and also tried changing the refresh rate (Hz setting) but no change. Neat idea- I just thought of laser engraving on different Food and ran across this. My family is going to be awfully surprised the next time they get into our crackers- I think I'm going to do a dozen of them and then mix them into the cracker sleeve randomly and see if anyone finds them. I just opened a site with the things I offer- mostly miniatures right now but there's a lot more than that coming. 'ChaosFabs' with all the other address stuff if you want to see what I'm up to. I design/produce it all myself. Thanks for the vid, nice work- I hope you're still Lasering now, 5 Years later :D
Hi from San Tan Valley Arizona the home of Mr Pod Cat
cool
This video originally had the song "Let It Snow" in the background but the buttholes at SME Legacy Recordings put a copyright claim against me - even though my channel has not made a single cent. So turn down the volume and hum or sing "Let It Snow" while you watch.
TFS this amazing technique! The result is awesome :)
Thank you - I'm glad you found it useful!
Thank u sir! I think u did a fine job of the unboxing, Great deal on that foot pedal , i have a few the same as that and i had the same problem, but i just filed mine down so it would fit" I think that looks like a pretty good rotary tool, the flex shft handpiece looks a step up from the normal china stuff they sell on ebay, I have saved this video to my playlist of other carvers that may help us all as its a good video, alot better then my unboxing blabber talk!! Haha Good tree and i look forward to seeing more videos from u!! Jord
Thanks for commenting. I have moved to Arizona and have been too busy fixing up our "fixer-upper" home to make any videos but hope to get back to it fairly soon. I watch your videos every chance I get - keep em coming they're great!
Review of Masterforce rotary tool and first power carving. Shout out to Jordy Johnson for motivating me to just do it.
Thank u
Is the H20 water paint waterproof? Will it dissolve if the styrofoam is put into water?
You can use latex house paint or acrylic craft paints and provided you have let them dry long enough, they will be safe to place in water - like a swimming pool? After your paint has dried completely, you could spray or brush on an additional clear poly (water based) for additional protection and let that thoroughly dry before you place the foam into water. Depending on how thick your paint is applied, you need a minimum of overnight dry time. A full day or more is better.
I've been looking for a good video on spray painting styrofoam thank you so much. information was much needed and well explained.
Thank you for the comment - I'm glad to hear it helped you!
I'm doing a styrofoam centerpiece and I wanted to finish it off with a clear glossy coat what can I use ??? Please help
Krizia you can use any clear spray that is water based, or if you're brushing it on rather than spraying, the same thing applies - make sure it's water based poly. Having said that, alcohol based clear shellac also will work but it does have more fumes to deal with so provide a lot of fresh air while using. I have not tried it but I suspect ModPodge will also work.
what machine for cutting would you suggest..anything digital..like from my computer and the cutter will automatically cut..thank you
The only machines I know that will give cuts like I get are quite expensive if you're just interested in this as a hobby. Good entry level machines with a cutting area of at least 4 x 4 feet can be about 15,000.00. You also have to get capable software to drive the cutter.
so that water base paint doesn't eat or melt the glitter at all?
Water based paint is not a problem at all. Latex house paint in the little sample jars can be quite affordable and the big box stores can mix any colors you want.
From: Melissa I have a problem with the glitter coming off on my hands even after drying overnight. I've used those clear sprays but they also melt the foam. And IT DULLS THE GLITTER I know a guy who makes props where they come out super sparkling and the glitter doesn't come off even if you rub your hand across it. It almost feels like whatever he uses, it makes the glitter stiff and hard, But it doesn't dull or fade or melt the glitter What could it be? Could it be a water based clear coat? I'm trying to email you pix but your email is full and it keeps rejected my email
+Melissa Guzman What are you using for glue? If you're using water based paint instead of glue, like acrylic craft paint, that tends to dry too fast and won't allow the glitter to sink in enough before the paint has dried completely. I use water based house paint from Home Depot - the BEHR paint brand. If you're using glue, make sure you put on a thick enough layer of glue. Some people recommend thinning out white glue with water so it spreads easier but I would only use 1 part water to 4 parts glue. Too thin = less adhesive. Having said all that, some glitter will come off regardless.
Thanks for the info
thanks for the reply!😀
Hi, is there anyway to seal the glitter on to the styrofoam craft so that the glitter will not come off? Is Mod Podge safe for sealing the glitter?
+srpowell20 I've tried water based clear sealer and although it does help keep the glitter from falling off, it also seems to make the glitter less sparkly. I think Mod Podge is also water based and so it won't damage the foam but I don't know if it will make the glitter more dull - I haven't tried it. Experiment on a scrap and let it dry completely - and let me know how it turns out because it would be beneficial in a lot of circumstances like cake toppers where you don't want glitter all over the cake.
Also, if you spray at a distance you can have much less foam disintegration.
+WhirlOmar This has been mentioned however I have been reluctant to suggest it because a lot of people have no idea how far away from the foam you need to spray so it doesn't melt it. This can vary with different brands of paint because of the different amounts of solvents from one brand to another. It's always best to test on scraps! If you don't have scraps of the same foam to test, don't use solvent based spray paint!
what kind of foam are you using?
+Susen Carter Nealy I use 2 pound density white EPS foam. It's not available in the big home improvement stores. I get it in three thicknesses (1/2 inch, 3/4 inch and 1 1/2 inch) I pay extra to have it sanded smooth on the front and back surfaces. Shipping the 4 foot by 8 foot sheets to me from out of state is costly but it's the best material for the products I make.
do you make crown molding??
+Becky Burton No - I haven't tried making crown molding. Most of the companies making foam moldings use a hot wire cutter which is shaped the same as the molding they are reproducing. I don't use a hot cutter.
Love the Knome pic my friend
Thanks for sharing this one with me my friend. Sorry, didn't get a chance to look at it until now. Poor Santa's Younger Brother
I need to get glitter onto 1/2 inch Styrofoam round balls... Any tips on getting it to stick.... You cant press on them flat with the hand....
+Lizzie Vanderstam The method of pressing the glitter into the paint is what I use for flat objects. You may not need to apply any pressure if your glitter is relatively fine particles. Just coat the styrofoam balls with your glue or latex paint and submerge them into the glitter. You could try doing it in a baggie like the old shake n bake routine. Just don't forget to close the baggie before shaking!
Hi. That's a great tip. Would it work for rhinestones? If not, what glue would you suggest? I want to use the same concept of placing the polystyrene over a dish of rhinestones. Thank you
Nellina Sebastian I think rhinestones have to be placed with the flat side down so that might be difficult unless you make stencils that would place them correctly. Putting each one by hand would take too long. The rhinestones for clothing are put on by heat and that would not work with the foam.
Thank you very much for your advice. Looks like too much work and it may not work. Wanting to cover the numbers 60 in rhinestones for a Diamond Anniversary. We have a company who are cutting the 60's for us (free) and now I don't know if I can do it. What glue would you recommend. Thank you once again.
Thank you so very much...it really makes sense and now my projects are much easier!!! I am a Holloween Doll Artist. Please visit me at boggybottombayou.blogspot.com/
I own a sign company and we make a ton of 3D signs from Styrofoam. We have been using acrylic automotive paints as well as spray paint for years with no issues. The problem you are having is caused by holding the can to close to the project. About 11 or 12" away is the correct distance. Believe it or not the problem is caused because the paint when held close is actually too cold when it hits the project. Hold your cans at the correct distance and the paint has time to get warmer before it hits the project. Its just the simple chemical composure, temp and application that makes the difference. Weird but true. A good way to test this is to spray the paint onto a paint brush then paint the project, you wont have this melting issue.
Hi Michelle The problem is caused by the solvent in the paint. Spraying from a farther distance allows the solvent to evaporate or flash off before it lands on the foam. It has nothing to do with cold. If it did, they wouldn't use EPS foam or Styrofoam for insulation. Spraying farther away does work but it wastes paint and creates a lot of overspray, so I just use latex house paint or water based acrylic craft paint.
The work I do is temporary in nature, with centerpieces and large letters and numbers for corporate events, birthdays, weddings, fund raisers etc. so spending additional time with primer is not cost effective. Latex house paint works great and color matching can be done in sample size quantities when necessary.
I have a CNC router. I also have a laser but I don't cut the foam on it. Just email me if you have additional questions.
Great info, thanks for posting. I need to paint some Styrofoam ceiling tiles.
thank u
You don't need to apologize for bad video or audio... Those things make your videos authentic. I like it ;)
That is so funny. I have a cocker spaniel who absolutely loves his. He doesn't even play with it much, just sleeps with it like it's his friend. I hide it at night then hide it somewhere in the house in the morning. When he finishes breakfast he races round the house sniffing for it ( cos it smells like him ) finds it and races outside with it shaking in his mouth. Like people all dogs are different.
Yes, I agree with you. The problem what you are spraying is a low density open cell extruded foam. The denser it gets the less it melts. You have the densest foam on the market. Some polystyrene or what people call styrofoam can be molded under high pressure and heat and not be melted or damaged say can paints. Good video!
thank you for this video, very helpful.
Great help. I also tried spray painting further from the foam, causing the toluene stuff (propellant) to no longer melt the foam. About 14 inches away. No bubbles since the propellant evaporates before getting onto the foam. I was on a budget and in a hurry to complete my son's project. Thanks!
this is a great tip thanks so much for posting this!
u can use solvent based sypray paint without melting ur foams. Just apply the spray from 30 cm away from foam and dont go crazy. Go one let it dry then go second.
So pretty!!! Thanks for the tip!
I experienced the same thing. It's a disaster .
Thanks for the tip
I wish I had seen this before my styrofoam/glue/glitter mess! This is a brilliant tip!
Planning to paint my RC glider plane made of EPO. Glad i watched your video. Saved my new toy from disaster.
nice'
Thanks, you helped my art project! you're the man!
Thanks for this!
The easiest way i found to partially authenticate one is to turn it over and see if the reverse is rotated. if the top of the liberty head is facing you turn it directly over and if the obverse is pointed in a different direction it is a 1916 d.
THank you!! You just answered all my questions!
i just found that out today
Thank you for that information very helpful
Thanks for the edu-ba-cation! Learned the blister part the hard way!
i made a prop sniper rifle out of 2 inch thick foam i spinet over 2 hours of carving and guess what happened (ಠnಠ)
Beautiful dog!
I had to make an atom out of styrofoam...I watched this after I spray painted it, the spray paint ate the styrofoam ): i was so upset.
