Triumph Trophy SE alternative Tank Bag fitting
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
Alternative tank bag for the Triumph Trophy 1215 and 1215 SE. Its near on impossible to get the triumph bag now, so I searched around for an alternative. The SW Motech bags are real quality and I like how the connect to the tank ring. Based on the installation of this bag (Pro Daypack) you could also fit the Pro Yukon Waterproof (almost the same size) and the Pro Micro (which is even smaller). ...
What kind of GPS did you mount and does it fit on de Trophy GPS mount?
I used a Garmin XT for that trip. Second time Ive used it across Europe. Yes it fits on the Trophys satellite mount.
where did you find the extra mirrors? what size is the screw size? It isn't M8. I would like to bolt there something.
castrol this oil is a failure, I recommend Motorex, Motul, Liqui Moly, Penrite.....
Well it's hardly a failure. Not only is it the recommended oil by Triumph, but I have been using it regularly with no issues
@@Paul-TrophySE I understand, but... my engine runs quieter when using a different oil, it is not my intention to persuade you or to advertise another manufacturer, in my opinion, Castrol oils are of very poor quality... everything
Hi What company and where to buy rear trunk gmole covers ? Dziękuję

Shot 3 days before the opening Euro24 match between Germany and Scotland.
Very relaxing video and music too. ❤💪
Thanks. Nice to meet you guys at the weekend. I'll catch up with your videos when I get home, I still have a week left of this year's trip.
Hello! The videos are very helpful. Do you have an idea for replacing the wheel hub, I can't find such a part, it is sold together with the cardan only.
Very well explained and straight to the point, thank you from a young rider that is about to buy its first "big" big (only owned a Street, Tiger Sport & Tiger Rally) this is big for me and I'm already confident enough to do my servicing myself. Thank you for this video and have fun with your rides. Please do more of these if you have any occasion on doing so! Could you link the brand for the crash bars for the side luggage you got? I'm having a hard time finding some in the Europe but maybe there are sellers elsewhere? Thank you!
Thankyou. The bars front and back are made by a guy in Spain. Goes my the moniker MotoLeon or Tralex. If you go to the Triumph Trophy Forum you will find the links to him. He makes to order.
Great footage. Thanks for sharing. Have a 2014 TTSE in my barn.
Thanks. Please subscribe, I have a few more to continue the journey coming soon.
@@Paul-TrophySE I did, maybe return the favor :)
Great video, it's very useful. I might buy one for my trip to the Alps this summer. Thanks Paul!
Great touring bike 👍. Those tolls ... such a hassle each time. Next time I'm going to try the toll tag, will see if that saves all that time consuming stopping faff. Amazing roads though 👍
Tolls are a pain Ian. I'm back over for 3 weeks in June and I've ordered the tag which covers France and Italy for me. Small cost for the convenience. It really slows you down on a bike with all the faffing about you have to do on a bike just to get through the toll.
Great video. I gave up looking for an OEM tank bag for the TTSE and after watching your video I went onto SW MOTECH and ordered the same as yours. It arrived two days later and I’ve just fitted it. What a great quality bag. Thanks.
That's great Peter. Glad you got sorted. I think quite a few have done the same on the back of the video . It's a great bag. I used mine on my Alps trip last year and it was perfect.
Hi Jordi. The Trophy is a fantastic machine for touring as I'm sure you already know. In preparing the bike the best advice I could give you is as follows. Tyres, ensure you have a good set of tyres fitted with plenty of tread. You will be on a lot of twisty mountain roads and the wrong tyres can ruin the ride. I fitted Michelin GT road 6 tyres and they are an excellent match. Fit a set of crash bars if you can. Again, there is a risk in the Twisties of dropping the bike on a slow tight bend. Waterproof over clothing. It can get wet and cold even in summer up in the Alps. Bring a puncture repair kit and 12v inflator along with spare fuses. I also brought a spare brake lever/ clutch lever/ brake pedal and get lever. Maybe overkill but these are light and can save your whole trip if you break one. Most importantly pack light. You will probably only need half the clothing you think. Enjoy your trip the Alps are magical on a bike.😊 From Ep 3 I start to get up in to the mountains proper. Ep 4 coming soon so don't forget to subscribe!
Ok Paul, thanks!
Great video. I have the 2017 se, what crash bars are you running? Thanks
Those Tralex bars. They are handmade in Spain by that guy Motoleon. He posts on the trophy forums. They are well made, I have the front and back bars mounted
Hi Paul, I really enjoyed your video, congratulations! I have a Triumph Trophy SE and next July we want to do the Alps starting with the French, then the Swiss and Italian and finishing with the Dolomites. Do you have any tips for the trip and especially for the Trophy SE? Thanks
Fabulous!
Very nice vid', great to watch on cold winters night, did almost the same trip trip on my 2013 Trophy, except wife and I decided to carry on down ending up in Barcelona.. then home via Zaragoza and Bilbao.. I feel as a Trophy owner, I have found a hidden gem and intend to keep it a secret 😊
Thanks Andy. Much appreciated. Ep 3 sees me getting into the stunning scenery in the Alps proper. Up to now. It's just been about getting there! Heading back this year again. Cannot wait.
Thanks Mapped! I will condense the rest of my episodes a bit more as I try to cram in too much. Came back with about 4tb of footage! Hopefully I will get slicker as I get more footage up. It gets more interesting once I hit the Alps! Much like the kit in your excellent blog. My Trophy was like a two wheeled production suite😅. I had an insta 360 up front. GoPro on my helmet and another that could be mounted on 4 different locations around the bike.
Hey! Great video! I really enjoyed your editing approach and content! Having done a very similar trip myself (on the same bike) I found myself excited for you at the end of the video... As you were coming into France! 🤟😊
What mirrors did you put on and are they recommended?
They are just triumph Tiger replicas off Amazon. I wasn't happy with the standard mirrors going on the trip. These extra mirrors are far better. Visibility to the rear is much improved. You can see with the phone and camera that the mirrors were covered somewhat. I'm also able to use the standard mirrors as well, so covers a lot of rear area.
Trophy,you did top . :))
love the color, I have a blue 2014, I need to replace the air filter and plugs just tune up really, hate to do all that work lol.
lovely bit of road. I rarely travel to salzburg, usally go to carinthia and styria. If you travel from upper austria to viennna, there is a famous and very curvy road in lower austria called kalte kuchl/ochsattel. Infamous, since so many accidents happen with overconfident motorcyclists, but the scenery and curves are to die for
one thing i might add. Always open the fill port first. If it strips, is stuck or otherwise not removable, you can still ride. If you drain the oil, only for the fill plug to be stuck, ur out of luck I know that triumph doesnt specify any change interval for the shaft drive oil, but coming from a honda nt700 and having a close call with an almost stripped fill port makes me rather careful for this procdure before draining, i recommend doing a warm up ride. When the engine oil is up to temp, the shaft drive is aswell. Draines faster, washes away more metal shavings and leaves less residue. When finally draining, put the bike on the side stand. Refill on the center stand This is coming from a somewhat high-mileage Deauville owner where you need to change the fluid every 36.000km. I do it every year, since its little amount of oil, cheap and easy to do. For peace of mind
I did crack open the fill port first.😊
Just awaiting delivery of my 2016 blackTrophy SE with only 8k on the clock. Had a 2012 Tiger 1050SE, now a 2020 Tiger 1050 sport now need to sale, need a bit more comfort these days, and the wife wanted the heated seats.
Thânkyou sör 🇹🇷❤️🙋
cheers
Bonjour, j'aimerais raccorder le 2nd code qui n'est malheureusement pas raccordé d'origine, pouvez vous m'aider dans ma demarche ? merci.
Thanks for that helpful and informative vid Paul. Im going to do my TT SE oil and filter tomorrow. I really like the look of the bags you have fitted on top of the panniers , would you mind sharing the details please. I could make out Oxford but struggled to find similar on their website. Many thanks again and all the best.
Glad it helped
Cracking little teaser vid!
Most annoying part is… you can’t reset the maintenance reminder on startup
Hi Paul , Thank you for the great video! I just buy one trophy, I’ll collect it next Monday. Could you help me please how can I buy the crash bars like yours, I think this is the first things what I need. Many thanks Jani
Hi Janos. The crash bars etc are very popular with Triumph Trophy owners, and excellent quality. They are made to order by Alexander at Mototuning Leon in Spain. He is very reliable. I got my brackets about 6 months ago, and at that time they were €228 for the front bars and €124 for the rear bars. Shipping was €28 to UK from Spain. He can be contacted directly at mototuningleon@gmail.com.
@@Paul-TrophySE Hi Paul. Thank you for your help, I’ll contact him right now.

Paul - I'm having the worst time finding a top box for our bike - where do you recommend? Ebay, triumph stores, etc... no where!
Hi Brian. It will be hit and miss unfortunately as Triumph do not (I believe) make the boxes any longer. Ebay or facebook marketplace likely your best bet, but you would have to be quick as they tend to be snapped up as soon as advertised.
I carried out an oil change prior to an upcoming 2 week road adventure to France/Austria/Germany and Switzerland. Hopefully it will be of some help. Allen key set used www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09Z4S81YY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hi Jonny. these are actually emergency fuel flasks by Oxford. The bags are sold separately to attach the flasks to the bike. hope this helps.
Hey Paul ! First of all the Triumph Trophy is à fantastic bike !!! It's à good solution, l've had the same idea because I own also a moto Guzzi v85tt and It's exactly the same fixation on the tank The diference is that the bag is realy on the rear, no contacts with the handlebar. You just have to fold gently the brid and the result is perfect Cheers from France and ride safe (Sorry for my english ! )
Hi Paul my name is Debrom I ordered a tank bag and a tank ring the same type you have and There send me the wrong tank ring I would like to know exactly the type of tank ring from the Is triumph Tiger year that you have on your trophy I send them the Cold But they're saying me the wrong SW motak tank ring
Is it definitely the Triumph Trophy 1215 SE you have? If so, the tank ring you need is off the Tiger 900. The code number is TRT 00.787.16100/b.
I’m wondering if the Pro GS could fit on the TTSE
what company did you order the tank bag from
Direct from SW Motech. www.sw-motech.co.uk
Just to add. Ive had this out now on several longish rides, and you completely forget the bag is there. It has no impact on steering. I even mistakenly rode in to a tight cut de sac, and manoeuvred the bike out in one turn at almost full lock with no issues. You can lock the handlebars as usual by the way.
