Beginners Guide To Net Making, Purse Net For Ferreting
Good video bud I've kept and run Lurchers for 40yrs and I'd say get all the basic training out the way in the dog's first year or so before letting the dog see any live quarry yes train it with a lure and I'd suggest for an all rounder fur and feather dummies then gently enter the dog. I know my advice is rarely taken these days and most people want dogs of the teeth but that's where the art has gone unfortunately never mind I'm glad to see guy's like yourself are still around, take it easy bud and good luck.PS get some new content up lol 😉.
Whippet x greyhound is nice not to big or small
@michaelfleming9757 yes I don't mind a grew can be a bit thin skinned but they got the speed👍
Any chance you can do a training video for ferreting to catch rats
@@Lolly92 There's not much training you need to do with ferrets for rats or rabbits they'll do it all on instinct, as long as your ferrets are well handled that's really the extent on training.
@@moochersways8595 thanks I live on a small hold farm and it’s become unmanageable this year so I’m hoping over the next couple of years this may help
Bro holds that ferret like it's in his inventory 😂 those things are so flexible, imagine tryna hold a cat like that

Hi mate another great video, I have just got a saluki whippet grey he’s 16 weeks old now and i can already see that stubborn saluki in him with recall, I’ve had a saluki whippet before and in all honesty I was too hard on him and although he was a good dog he was still abit windy sometimes where he would sometimes just run home when out lamping not sure if he was scared if he didn’t catch I don’t know, I’ve just had him pts at 12 years old as he had lung cancer, I’ve had dogs all my life but do u have any tips for a good recall with the saluki types, it something that really winds me up if a dog doesn’t come when called 😂 but I want this new pup to be spot on Thanks Pete
@PeterMichiels-k1r hello mate cheers glad you enjoyed it! Yep the old stubborn saluki blood.....there deffo a dog that can test your patience at times, iv never really had a problem with mine recall wise he just plods along beside me think they just need a bit more time spent they can be a bit funny characters, good luck with your pup
I have a suluki bull greyhound his dad is a suluki x greyhound n his mum is a 3quarter greyhound 1 quarter bull (staffy i was told the bul breed was) but with suluki in my dogs breed he does have the erge to go n greet others wen he sees people on walks so i just attach a long lead to him so he carnt run off to greet others n do his recall that will help chamge treats wen traing i used 3 different treats in my pocket cheese, cut up hot dogs n richmond sausages cut up change every so often so wont get bord easily but not on walk working with the lamp he does have the erge to track wot he doesnt catch sometimes think that cud b hunters instinct but hes never run off home or anywhere eles part from chasing to catch or chasing a rabbit on the lamp. But long lead with good reinforcement with treats mite be a good start with ur pup
Hello mate came across ur channel and its great info ur giving im getting back into the game i used to have a sulukixgrey and she was great sadly shes gone but am trying to find a seller but having trouble any help plz?

A dog that marks is worth there weight in gold I had one my best dog for marking is a bedlington x whippet. Or just bedlington very good nose they got the one I had started marking at 5 months old never told a lie she was the best of the best she would put her head in the hole if there was a rabbit in. Her tail would go 10 to the dozen. What a dog🐰
@michaelcleaver402 yep saves a lot of time on a days ferreting if the dog marks! Thanks for watching👌👍

Hi Mate, would you know how to change the leather on the mk1 collars?
@alancarey121 hello mate yeah.....if you look at the underside of the collar you should see a line where it has been resined up.....if you carefully cut a channel in that with a hacksaw you'll be able to slide the leather out and put a new collar in.....then either resin the channel or glue it back up, bit fiddly but not too difficult
That ferret always catching them bunnies 😂
Good talk mate good info roll on next month get me ferrets working 🐰👍
@michaelcleaver402 Thanks mate yes not long now I'm itching to get back out👍 hope you have a great season🐰🐰🐰
