dude...in reality, very little of that first-aid kit will ever be necessary on the AT.......

Man, you can always tell a newbie by what he carries...or what he thinks he need to carry. So much you will get rid of when the reality of the Trail makes its presence known....lol...

@MAT tomasko Do you have suggestions of what I should get rid of? So far, one week in, I have used everything in my pack and everything is holding up well. I've been glad for blister treatment and meds I've carried in the first-aid kit - I hope I don't need anything more but I'd rather have it than not. Already regretted not having some sort of ACE bandage for impromptu knee/ankle bracing.

Subbed just so I can catch a new review on the solong 6 tent. Good luck on the trail.

I'll be sure to give you my thoughts and a video review on my tent after the first week or so on the trail. So far it's been a decent tent, but has been prone to condensation.

@@paulm5112 Thanks - that would be great! Not a lot of reviews on lightheart gear by thru hiker vloggers, I think a new review would be a valuable addition. I also see why zpacks is so popular, I am just not completely sold on the longevity of cuban fiber. I would expect most any tent to have less condensation than what I already have(an old REI) and the solong seems a lot easier to ventilate. Mostly interested in the lightheart tents because of the simplicity of set-up. I'm tired of dicking around with the poles for the dome style, and like the idea behind the designs using trek poles. The Tarptent Motrail is 2nd runner up. Probably will wait till this fall to buy, so one more summer in the drip-dome. ;)
