Sailing Pantera
Добавлен 28 сен 2019
I am captain of the Pantera, which is a Djicat 33 sport catamaran & my mission is to build a survival rig & get the dodge out of rodger. The boat itself was the 3rd Djicat 33 built & created in Leucate (FR) 9.90m length by 5m width weighs 1.35 Tonne unladen. The boat itself is definitely not a bachelor pad or a floating condo. The boat is powered by wind, motor, intelligence & experience by trial and error.
I am a Sailer, martial artist & Survivalist.
After leaving the British army in 2010 as a Royal Engineer, I wanted to escape the system & be surrounded by nature, which pushed me towards many difficult and dangerous lifestyle choices. From living on the streets in a few countries to the desert and jungle then onto the ocean full nomad.
If you're interested in someone who travels with no cash or income, minimal to no Tech, no safety net & heads into the abyss, then look no further & Subscribe Thank you 😎👍🏿🌴🌊⛵

Love this.
Turtle living his best life.
Yeah maybe I should’ve continued watching before I commented! 😆 Hope you’re doing okay man, but if not, soon to be.
@serinadelmar6012 😂 yeah the turtles were nuts they actually broke my steering mechanism then I had to fix it in crap weather.
@@SailingPantera wow crazy, respect those skills though (yours, not the turtles’! 😂). What is it about that part of the planet? Even the wildlife seems pissed.
@@serinadelmar6012 😅 Yes I'm done with the Atlantic side I'm going back to the jungle to do what I used to do live a quiet life hunting and gathering again. I suffer in civilization always have but put a weapon in my hand and the true wild I flourish always. It must be mother nature sending these animal maniacs or Aqua man is pissed off at me for some reason.
@@SailingPantera so even animal maniacs have a purpose, aqua man, not so sure (aqua bird was definitely trouble). That’s beautiful man, on so many levels. Hope it takes you where you need to be. Now wondering which jungle. I find civilisation stifling, humans profoundly disappointing, but nature, true nature, away from the lunacy (even if for a different kind of lunacy), the only way to breathe. Actually at a fork in the road rn (maybe a spoon, a spoon shaped cul-de-sac of perhaps and what if). Just as I write this I can hear a kestrel over the sea. @@SailingPantera WHAT HAPPEN TO THE BOAT AND CREW/CAPTAIN IN AFRICA
@@polswan2551 too many things to list that place was awful and it took the last of what I had in my life and arrival in Cape Verde oh my days never again. All my life stolen and destroyed so I'm doing different things now and drifting the streets and dodgy stuff to survive with ill health. My advice don't do this at all boating sucks same as the travel it will destroy you and what you have. My channel is a story of tragedy. I love this, fking hell man, bless you. ♥️ Crocs are crazy, faster than us on land, in the water, and they can jump out the water to the third of the tail, mental. This is beautiful nature. What a man. I’ve got a croc story. I was in Kakadu, just been on some boat ride thing, thinking man that was touristy, so not my thing, and was quite away from my tent, but wanted to make up for the experience, so like the dumb pom, went for a wander. Saw this beautiful tree, climbed up it to have a bit of a smoke that kind of thing. The Sun is going down. It was so beautiful, legs are literally dangling over the water, good way up, but still (FYI, I was 19). Then water barely fricking moved. I couldn’t believe it. There was a massive croc moving so slowly under my feet, and I just froze, the sunset. It was dark, mental Kakadu noises, and about, I don’t know 6K to the tent maybe, hoping I was going in the right direction. it was so Australian as well when I got back to the campsite, there was like some outback band playing stubbies and definitely needed a beer! I was told they eat every three days so it definitely would’ve known I was there but obviously had eaten so yeah that was lucky. Loving your channel man, enjoying this.
Cool story thanks for sharing👍🏾 Crocs are extremely interesting stalkers/hunters living with them for nearly 2 years swimming in the same water I learned a lot and I'm glad to have the time to observe and track these animals plus many more creatures as the natives in Gambia have no clue about the nature they have free access too. Crocs/alligators always know where you are and what you are, all I can say is always know your environment be vigilant and be armed just in case otherwise your the snack😅
@@SailingPantera fr 😂 and I know how fuking lucky I was! Sorry for the late reply but two years, wow amazing, do you have a website? I’d like to keep up with your work. and yeah breaks my heart when there is not even appreciation much less comprehension of how unique and irreplaceable that nature is. You obvo would have far more insight than I but much as I have some beautiful Gambian friends, their government is fuct, on so many levels but especially environmentally, education, all that business, breaks my heart but then humanity kinda does too, save a few beautiful gems, so focusing on those. Wish you well man, look after yourself. 🌊⛵️✨
Oh man late seeing this but I love seeing this real update, seen way too many sailing videos that don’t show the reality, like none. Love that bit about the birds! Hope you got some sleep. Massive respect to you, truly. I’m longing to be back in the ocean (aware that you’re probably longing to be back on fking land!). Hope you’re in less pain too. Re the fenders, mate of mine once shouted out, “Left your curlers in did you love?” to a boat who hadn’t taken their fenders in! I’m going to check out your other videos and see where you’re at. OMG just got to the end. I’m definitely gonna see where you’re at! 🌊⛵️
It was narly lots of ups and downs and not caring lots of not caring. I've arrived relatively ok no rádio still or flares, starboard Hull peeling apart even as I write this, Genoa broken, mainsail broken, but I managed to get some fuel here so I have a house boat a can't even move that's getting worse each day. Sal is ok they put me on the news so everybody knows me here but unfortunately media being media they never spoke to me once so I bet the information is 100% bogus. Everyone I've met here being quite a few hundred all want to help but this is just empty words as the majority here are just sycophants unfortunately. But I'm alive I guess just watching the boat get worse each day till eventually I lose it and its all for nothing.still fighting each day as for trading here it's not worth it as everyone wants it for free. I'm extremely tired and losing my drive on this island. I would only recommend sal if your rich with no problems. Can't wait to get these problems fixed and get back out on the ocean to be fair. Thanks for the comment 😁👍🏾
@@SailingPantera only seeing this now, sorry for the lateness but Jesus can I donate some safety gear for you? Eperb that kind of thing? Even just a flare for when you’re ocean bound again, and if this ain’t the boat, know there’s another that’ll be blessed to have ya. Bit short of sails and Genoas but actually got quite a bit as between boats. Fr re rich people! I don’t really know how I’m gonna do it, even living on it again, just that I am. Based in Spain so at the very least do have municipal marinas and kind of relaxed anchor laws, beautiful lil bays too (on land in one rn), but far more in love with the crazy weather sailing wise (as long as it’s not freezing!), just don’t go near the orcas! So sorry to hear about the extremes, hang in there, nothing is for nothing, how ever fuct it feels. Besides you’re already surviving, as for thriving just know you’ll be again. Stay safe man and hit me up if you want some stuff sent to ya (and these are weighty words, heavy, far from empty type words).

Can see why you like to get away from people when you have to deal with p****s like this, fair play for teaching him a lesson.
BEST PLACE TO GET YOUR ASS FU,,,,CKED¡¡¡ DID YOU???
Nope I went for peace and tranquility which I actually got. Obviously you enjoyed your time there on this weird discovery. You should get tested for that.
I use a 300# Bruce and it has never needed help to hold.
I see that you are on a catamaran to get rid of the orcas have you tried direct current DC run a lead off the port and another off starboard use an 8D and touch the terminals just briefly with the orca between the two leads in the water. You don’t want to kill them but you do want them to think that screwing with a sailboat might not be the best thing to do, in a whales mind.
There wasn't much time for these experiments I had already set up a counter measure as I knew we would be hit by the orcas way before I started the passage. In return it enabled us to escape with minimal damage which was a chewed steel rudder, damaged steering and increased damage to the structure of both pontoons plus we had an engine fire straight after the orca attack which I'm not sure if that was the orcas or MH marine guys in la linea as they fixed my engine with dodgy parts (wrong solenoid). Should have titled it as 4mm thick broken racing catamaran vs 4 Orcas 😂. Electrical current might work as it works for sharks but I have no power for that so next time if I'm crazy enough and rich enough to go back there again they get shot unfortunately.
@@SailingPantera I have no problem with demonstrating that my magazine on my .40 Smith and Wesson burps 16 times before I need to reload
Wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in some seal bombs or water proof fire crackers throw a few of those out I'm sure the orcas would leave. Playing dead made you sound retarded
Is their not a stun pole that you can electric shock them with, like they use in fresh water rivers to capture fish.
Man has interrupted their food chain, and as such they are now coming to eat US!
BECOUSE The"""HUMANS"""IDIOTS with THEIRS overfishing!!!!!!! deprived The MAJESTIC POOR ANIMALS of THEIRS FOOD WHICH IS THE TUNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pay the Toll ,hit the local fish market purchase a few whole Tuna and toss them over board on your way out
With these powerful fish i would be in total panic🐋🐋🐋
This needs to be shared: in case of encounter with orcas engine off electronics off sails down, rudder free. Then wait for them to get bored. No food, no shouting, just let them be
and when they shear off the rudder post puncturing the hull where the penetration is with their many tons of momentum and you start taking on water faster than you bilge pumps can pump out because few if any production boats have watertight bulkheads in that particular spot
It’s payback time ........ whales are extremely intelligent and they know who’s responsible for polluting their habitat. Just the beginning people...swimmers beware.
Needs to stop that pronto.
With so many Orcas being kidnapped and sold into the entertainment industry, like SeaWorld (there are many different ones worldwide), perhaps younger ones witnessed these traumatic events, and witnessed pod members being killed as well as taken away... Now that they are older and wiser, they are seeking revenge on any vessels that look like the ones that attacked their pods.
I must have seen at least ten videos of orcas attacking boats is this same area probably the same pod
If these attacks are becoming more frequent it's only a matter of time before someone goes overboard, do you think they would kill anyone that fell into the water? I've just seen another video that says maybe the Orca are practicing hunting techniques and chase boats to build stamina.
Yes to that. They are sadistic creatures this is why I never stepped up on the stern to lift my motor whilst they attacked as I know they are constantly watching for a mistake then they will have you. Drown you slowly I doubt they will eat you but they will definately chew you up imagine your any creature like a fly, fish, mouse etc and the whale is a cat. This orca problem has already got out of hand due to poor investigation work and no interest in actually fixing the problem. I've got PTSD from this experience but it hasn't stopped me from sailing the boat through uncharted territories and yes I've met bigger orcas since which triggers the events all over again so I arm myself ready to execute them and analyse the situation before commitment so I don't just kill a curious creature as its not their fault at the end of the day. All orcas are hostile in my opinion as I live offshore and pass these things just like someone passes the park or bus stop on their way to work or whatever.
@@SailingPantera Wow, them fuckers are really trying to get humans then, maybe the lack of fish in the ocean is making them turn on us, who knows man. Dude you are far braver than me and fair play to you for still doing what you love to do despite these sadistic devil whales trying to fuck you up, respect man.
@@SailingPantera next time try Justin Timberlake music, it will cause PTSD in orcas for sure!
Bold of you to claim they are sadistic devil whales when humans sadistically capture their kinds. Have you considered the thought that maybe other boats have hurt them causing this aggressive reaction? This odd behavior of them happens only in this area.
@@youareallfeckinboring not bold I'm just observant of their behaviour and no orcas are known for this behaviour long ago in the past nothings changed apart from the Internet and people who share the experience like myself. They damaged themselves on the boats due to following their mother I've already explained all this in the comments a longtime ago. People need to read what I've written before posting seriously as it's all been covered already.
From what I have heard, this orca pod has discovered that if they harass fishing boats in this way, the crew will often throw some of their catch into the water to distract the orcas and get away. To them, if they do this action, they get free fish. Obviously, they don't know that your boat doesn't have crate-loads of fish for them to eat. They're just trying their luck with any boat they come across.
It's only fair. Soon they'll learn to cap size the intruders who they blame for robbing There food.
🍆 Head! I don't eat fish so who's robbing the food the lazy land dwellers who don't know anything who consume everything and don't even know where any of it comes from and don't even care where it comes from. I love listening and reading dumb people's opinions like it matters what they think. 😂
I am sure it was terrifying, but that is not an "attack." Orcas are big dolphins, and were checking out your boat. They are intelligent, curious creatures with no natural predators. They don't have hands, so the only way they can check out how something feels is by bumping up against it. If we keep referring to this normal behavior as an attack it will only be a matter of time before some gun-nut American starts shooting at them because he thinks he is being attacked. I am an American so I can say this. If they wanted to attack they could have easily taken a bite out of your rudder. Russ Sailing Vessel Coyote Long Beach, California
Seems you got it all figured out. Good luck 👍🏿
Somebody shoot them already. Spamming all RUclips with those "Orca attack" videos...
Orcas eat whales. When they hunt them down the start by biting off the dorsal fin. Interestingly when they attack a boat the go for the rudder.
thats messed up that kiddie at 0;20 holding up nazi salute im sure his mixed race defo got Afro hair.
Check your language for proper words.
Maaan ✌️
Seems to me that these attacks happen in the same areas, but no where else in the world... What if these whales were trained to attack vessels? To try and render them helpless. Who stands to profit from this action? There is a dry dock in the area ranked #1 among sailers for rudder repair and other sail boat needs, and they may even a a tow boat to bring in those rendered incapiable of returning to port. Just seems weird to me, that this behavior with this pod of Orcas is an ungoing issue.
Hey aaaron and romy! How are you? You don’t have whatsup anymore? We wanna call you :-)
We need a 80% global human population reduction to balance human science and technology which is nothing but destructive to the world... less people, less problems, better peaceful cleaner balanced world...
There is another interesting video of a sailor, next to the cap finistere. The guys did just let the ship drifting, cutting all electronics ans sails down . The orcas went elsewhere 2 min after that. No more curiosity nor point of interest. This does not look like as an attack, but curiosity.
Keep mastering your journey. Hope you continue to share it. You are living life others dream of what your living....
So, man has taken the food source away from these animals and they are intelligent enough to understand that? How have they determined that destroying the rudder will disable the yacht? I don't understand this. Not just your video, but the dozen or so videos that I have watched lately. Maybe the Orcas are pissed at us for putting them in shows at SeaWorld. It's gotta be pretty frightening watching a pod of them attack your ship.
Was a hard listen with that mic noise but it along with similar incidents gives that old ORCA movie a new perspective indeed. Seems they attack the rudder and hulls, wonder if this dates back to Vikings etc - don't see why not. Motors perhaps? I've seen others shut off engines. No telling at this point.
I’d start carrying huge Tuna’ as a piece offering’ give them that and hope they accept it and go. Orcas might start building toll enforcement booths.
It true they just damage sailboats,,,
GoPro: Orca Rescue in 4K - RUclips This may be a good clue as to why Orcas are following Boats as Dr. Visser the Orca rescue lady stated that they take captive orcas and get them "To Follow Boats" as part of their introduction to being set free in the ocean? As smart as Orcas are I think that behavior may get transferred to other pods?
David hakes sounds interesting I will research this need dates times etc see how likely this is as the ones we encountered are from a different stock. But orcas has been sinking (attacking) boats for many years before you or I was born so these attacks are only noticed now due to social media now and brave or unfortunate adventurers. Thanks for the information it will help figure this out.
Did you buy it in the end? I am considering buying one but I can’t find much about it’s performances…is it basically a small cruising cat for camping or does it have any “umphh”. What’s your typical speed upwind and downwind in say, 15 kts of wind? How well does it point?
I didn't buy it in the end as the broker and seller preferred playing games then to sell the boat so it cost me dearly instead. Brought a Djicat 33 instead as you can see from my videos. But I'm sure this catamaran would of been a nice boat but now that I've been living and travelling on my djicat 33 I'm glad I went for this boat instead as there is more deck space plus its clearly a faster boat as we have already had 20kts + on this boat already and its more flexible so it has better ride on the water especially in rough seas. The piana 30 was a brick in comparison.
