2021 Kubota KX033-4 - final drive oil change
Here we change the oil in the final drive of our mini. Factory recommendation is at 50hrs and then every 500hrs thereafter, but we do it much more often; it’s quick & cheap to do and it prevents the very expensive drives from going bad.
You’ll need the Kubota gear oil, an 8mm Allen wrench and an oil pan for this job

How you pop the hood up
Thanks that helped. Looks so much easier with engine out. I am fighting with right side engine tin bolts 🤬. How’s the results? 7ftlb working ?
@@asteele911 she’s running like a champ. New plugs and wires made a big difference. You might find loosening the engine bolts and lowering the engine an inch or two won’t stretch any wires but give you the room you need
ShOcK & AWE I had no idea (mark time) that the Fork/T.O. shaft had the ability to "shaft the installer?".... So it actually acts as a safety pin to prevent engine-fallout (at any speed)? I haven't been this impressed since I stepped out of the shower dripping wet - sorry for that visual. I'm a rear (don't read ahead!) engine, air-cooled fan for >50+ years and this detail I missed. I saw it coming but I didn't want to believe it (last thing my GF said before going blind ). I'm going to be installing all of that soon and I just want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my knuckles. And thank the Gods I have a (cheap) bore-scope-cam, too. All very COoL. I'll be dreaming about this tonight. So if you hear faint screaming.. well, yeah. This video was truly sub-worth. The check is in the mail! I appreciate you posting this so I knew what I was about to get into. My 993 steering rack just dumped fluid all under the front of my car on the garage floor. I just spent enough time and energy replacing the AC evaporator and so I don’t think I have the energy to tackle this DIY. I ordered a refurbished steering rack and will take it to my Indy here

Is vaseline a safe assembly lubricant? Why not use a coating of the steering fluid?
@@fredreynolds1677 great question. Vaseline is petroleum based and used by lots of the old school guys as assembly lubricant. I have a few friends that have been doing it for 40 years

Fully support what you're doing, my dad has me doing the exact same, but I just need to know where the oil pan bolt is. But I'll give you a sub and view. Thank you
It’s not an oil pan bolt, it’s an oil hose that you drain so you can get the oil out of the frame

Should we clean the remaining oil that’s left inside the oil filter housing or is it ok to just dump the new filter on without wiping it down?
I tend to wipe everything down before I put it all back together. I like to make sure there’s no grit or dirt in and around the filter & housing

Nice video! Very helpful! One thing I noticed you didn’t adjust the striped kit.
Great point. I checked the striping kit and it was adjusted properly (e.g. level). Unfortunately it doesn’t stripe my lawn well because “crab grass doesn’t stripe well”
Clumsy damaging way demonstrated to compress the pistons, best to use a brake pad compressor. A compressor doesn’t damage the face of the calliper.
To each his own. I’ve done it with pliers, screw drivers, compressor, etc. as I said in the video, I’m sanding and painting the calipers so I didn’t care about the face of the caliper.
Great video. I recently bought a 2006 f350 dually king Ranch, previous owner gave me the door code which also activates the ignition start. Please, do you know how I can deactivate this code? I have a fob now that I programmed to unlock and lock the doors. Thank you

what degrees angle for sharping blades to sharper them
Most lawnmower blades are 30º
Can you share any other tips on getting that connector out? Last thing I want to do is break it. I’ve been working on it for about an hour
Are you talking about the fan connector with the red tab early on in the video? You have to get in there and look at it, the red piece pops out and then pull it apart. It’s a royal PITA, but it definitely comes apart
would use sandpaper disks as will leave a smother finish
Not a glamorous job, but certainly can be challenging! Nice work! 👍
I used the 3M adhesive and although it worked great on the felt strip, it didn’t adhere at all to the rubber strip. I had to strip that gunk off the sunroof but it left absolutely no residue stuck to the rubber. Any thoughts or any other adhesive recommendations?
I’d still use the same 3M adhesive, I’d just recommend using less than you think you should, apply to both sides (car and rubber strip) and let them get tacky before you put them together.
Thanks for the suggestions and thank you for posting what you do, adding an extra dimension to Porsche ownership!
I rubbed lacquer thinner on the rubber strip, let it dry, and it did wonders for the adhesion.
Awesome, thank you!
