OpenIPC DIY FPV Drone | Range Test-1 (~3 Km)
In this video, I conduct the first range test of the OpenIPC digital video system on a DIY drone. We managed to achieve an impressive distance of around 3 km with a stable video feed. While the results are promising, there's room for further optimization. I plan to enhance the performance by adjusting the antenna placement for even better range and signal stability.

This is a stylized sci-fi fantasy scene I created in Unreal Engine 4. I used Zbrush and Blender to create the architectural structures, rocks and foliage. Used substance designer and painter to texture them. Adding wind sway effects to the foliage made it look a lot better.

Finished creating the fountain base and top. Added textures using only a single trim-sheet. Trim-sheets are a great and very powerful way to texture your assets very quickly. Really great to see videos start coming from Indian FPV pilots. Like one comment said, I too expacting you to check on full crowded area. Wedding reception hall or even on roads (I usually do these kind of shoots flying above the roads for Hotel exterior shoot. The signal to Noise ratio will extreme high on my analog RHCP setup. RSNR value goes down to as low as 4). I am curious you do that test as well including one torture test for Video signal. Good luck. By the way, Thank you for this wonderful video!

The FHD image quality looks good. What is the bitrate of the camera?
It is running at 4 MBps. OpenIPC is working on dynamic bitrate which will comeout soon. That will be exciting to test.
Well its good right and why the hell does other youtubers have too much glitches and flickering issue or something like that ? Brotehr if u can try to fly in an crowded and housing areas , like will it be still this much stable or not ?
I think it all comes down to the quality of antennas used that makes all the difference. In my setup I have 2 LHCP omni antennas on the drone and 2 LHCP omni and 2 LHCP Triple Feed Patch antennas on the VRX. I haven't done testing in crowded areas yet. That will be my next test, but I think it should be fine. Thanks 🙂
