I just got my hands on a VR 09, and I found the Shuffle pattern to be pretty good to match that song. The Roc beat you used is just a hair to straight up for my taste.

Is that you on the bass? Nice job, you're killing it! I found your channel because I'm interested in the Roland VR-09. I see you play Hammond, and you also have a Nord. How does the VR-09 compare to those and how does it fit into your arsenal? I play piano and organ in a rock band. I have a Crumar Mojo 61 and I am interested in the VR-09 as a practice keyboard due to it's portability, drawbars, and the convenience of battery power. I have an inexpensive Casio cts1 that I currently use for practice, but I'm not really satisfied with the keybed for organ glissando, or the lack of controls for the organ.

According to a Booker T Jones quote I read in the book "Beauty In The B", he didn't use percussion. He liked the plain sound of the organ.

Good tip. I'm so used to playing on a loud bandstand that percussion seems necessary.

I think it sounds good. I see you have upper / lower, and split settings to get this get sound but you don't mention which settings.

Hey, another good vid/'tutorial' - keep 'em coming, I appreciate your efforts posting :) I have a question regarding (what looks like) a bluetooth transmitter coming out of the phono socket in your vr09. What brand have you gone with, and how reliable do you find it? I have a Bose soundlink II speaker which is pretty decent and would like to use it as a practice monitor, but don't want to waste money on a BT transmitter if they have annoying latency/delay or drop out randomly. I'm struggling to get much info on what might be a good purchase. Sorry to go off topic... your soul sauce was tasty!

A little bit of overdrive on the keyboard drive knob would've made it sound closer to the original song.
