That kid was just being cheeky. The use of sarcastic mate is infuriating: if you're in the middle of a fight with someone and they call you "mate" it makes me so angry because it's so obvious that you're NOT mates.
I can totally see where you come from. This may also depend on how sarcastic the other person is, their tone of voice, facial expression. All of that makes it really hard for any non-English speaker to know what people may mean if they call you mate in the middle of a fight.
I tell people, just to be safe try not to use any of these to avoid any confusion 😅
Tall Puppy Syndrome 🤣 I love that.
it is not even a question
@@codewithkamolov223 what do you mean?
First of all, BIG thank you both for such an interesting discussion. I actually was jogging and listening to this episode. Keep up the good work men, and please share more on these topics, languages, sport and mental health!

Thanks for the support! I have to put more into editing and I hope that you enjoyed the episode🤝

International students are supposed to be in Australia to study not to work. If your primary objective is to come here is to work you should be applying for a different type of visa. I dont understand how international students who dont speak English even being granted study visas in the first place ? The problem Aussies have with international students is that there are far too many of them here already and its putting pressure on infrastructure such as housing, and support services which are already in short supply. Your video seems to concentrate more on the work side not education we dont actually need more people competing for unskilled positions we have plenty of those doing that already.. If people from South American countries are concerned about distance and difficulty getting to Australia go to the US or Canada to study. Australians are comfortable being exactly where we are on the globe we dont need to be closer to anyone. Your advice to embrace our Australian culture, be open minded and tolerant - wow thanks for your understanding but you do realise that both international students and tourists are guests in this country and they should already know how to behave when they are in someone elses home ?..
There are people with basic English skills who are granted a study visa to come and learn English. One of the main points was how people are told unrealistic expectations of how life in Australia will be before coming here. Totally agree, students should come to study and not just work. Having said that, the fact that Australia lets students work legally to support their studies makes it quite attractive compared to other destinations. Thanks for your comment
@@teacheremilio there is no should if you come to Australia on a study visa legally you are required to study or your visa will be cancelled. To offset a portion of the living costs students are allowed to work a limited number of hours it's not meant to be a way for them to earn a living. Temporary visa holders are also required to have enough funds available to support themselves while they are in the country whether they are working or not. Students are limited to only 24hrs a week (48hrs a fortnite) during school terms and fulltime only in holidays so how do they get jobs like high paid mining positions when those guys usually want full time employees. Who is telling students how good life will be in Australia it can only be other vloggers on social media or immigration agents trying to drum up more business for themselves ? Personally I dont want my country to be anymore attractive for foreign students there are currently 700,000 of them here already and they are competing for housing and other services that are in short supply. I am not against international students but my children and grandchildren finding employment and affordable housing is way further up my list of concerns than what foreign students may experience when they are here temporarily on a study visa.
I love this content Emilio ❤ From your former Student
thank you so much for the support! So good to hear from you here, more content like this soon :D
In Australia, university study expects you to be self motivated and an independent learner. It is not like school! It is very important to do as much research as possible before committing to this course of action. Don’t listen only to people who make money from encouraging people to come to Australia to study. Make sure you only deal with agents who are MARA registered - check they are registered in Australia as an accredited agent as there are serious consequences for their business if they give incorrect advice or information to you.
Really good points here, knowing this can certainly minimise culture shock.
Everyone come on over as we're running out of feed for our drop bears, larger people get express visas.
It doesnt worry us locals if you dont want to find out!
You can make good money moving over here and working, like say you work in an oil rig place in south America for example or are an experienced mining worker, you may find those jobs over here that are the same job but you get paid a actually reasonable yearly pay, from some people I've met from Venezuela before they said they worked on an oil rig and didn't get paid great but it was decent enough to save money, move to Australia and they got jobs in an oil spot not far from me and get paid significantly more than they did back in Venezuela for essentially the same kinda job, so now they have the ability to fly their families over to visit, now moving here won't make you a millionaire but if you have a skill or great experience in a field our country is in demand for you will find that we pay really well for those kinds of jobs, we do have other problems like current housing and cost of expenses crisis but I'm sure we'll get past that
If you can afford it, it is. I'm from Australia, spent ten years in Malaysia and I'm glad I'm back to reality.
how was your time in Malaysia?
would be better if there were no indians
What could be the average salari weekly for a international student?
You meant to have the funds to support your self while you’re studying.
many jobs in hospitality and cleaning may pay $25 per hour, (it could be a bit more or less). Assuming a person works $25 aud per hour x 40 hours per fortnight, then that person would make around $2000 per month (less taxes). When international students are on holidays most people tend to work overtime and use it as a time to save money to pay the next semester, visa, etc. Thanks for asking :)
My beautiful Auckland
That's funny to me because in America we think of Australians as cocky and outgoing.
And they are, but at least during this basketball league it was more on the quiet side, both from coaches and parents. Many times I wanted to shout a bit, but I would stand out way too much. To be fair, everyone would be outgoing after the game and have a good laugh (even when the team lost)
if it's kids it depends how he yells at them, if they're older then it's more appropriate to yell at them :) also not all latin countries are the same.
both key points, it would not be appropriate if kids were yelled the same way I was yelled by my coach. And that's true, while we are not all the same, after meeting people from lots of countries from Mexico down to Argentina we seem to be quite on the cheerful side when it comes to sports
the first story reminds me of watching a Brazil vs Czech junior league football match here in Prague where I live. there were only a handful of Brazilians in the crowd but they cheered on their team with twice the energy as the Czech fans. And the Brazilian coach was very much like what you described, yelling to his players a lot. But some Czech fans in the row in front of me really didn't seem to like and were telling him in English to sit down & be quiet (...in less polite terms, lol. football matches do not bring out the best manners!) But maybe that was because Brazil was beating the Czech team, haha. I'm American and also have been shushed here (on public transit), though not since I first moved here... I have learned how to speak in my "european voice" to fit in better and now i reaaaallly notice how loud american tourists are and although I accept it, i do sometimes want to die of cringe
Thank you for sharing, and from our stories we could say that maybe depending on the sport/situation some may be more energetic than others when cheering a team. I remember when my older brother graduated my dad whistled so hard that everyone would look at us 😅 And about matters I think you are right, sometimes sport matches can really bring out some crazy stuff, like in Copa America final. It is all about balance and accepting that we may be different at times I guess
the vibes in this video are unreal
thanks for the support! I hope you like the video and setting

You forgot to mention one of the most important facts was the picture taken by one of the staff people of Maduro's OWN monitoring centers with a bunch of screens showcasing graphs from all regions of Venezuela in which it was clear that between 60% and 75% of the votes were going in favor of the opositon in nearly all of the regions just a mere two hours before the election ended.
thank you for mentioning that, such an important fact and somehow right after the elections ended Maduro's government somehow 'lost' this data and now claim that their victory was massive. So many things have happened that it is hard to unpack everything in one go, thanks again and I hope that you enjoyed the video
Thank you for a very informative episode. It was good to see a combination of your eloquent speech together with your analysis considering your analytical background my friend. I especially appreciate you giving real life examples! Hope that eventually things will turn out better as they seem at the moment back home 🙌🙏
thanks for the support! I hope you enjoyed the episode and that it showed what has been happening back home
As a RUclipsr we expect you to help us with pros and cons, which we then use to determine or to make a choice, but in this video you have essentially confused us more
Can you please tell me which parts were confusing?
Congrats teacher Emilio!!!! You have your first hater. I love you Teacher.
Thank you so much! I'm scaring about PTE Test because I need to overall score of 65 with a score of 59 in each sub-skill. In IELTS I need overall score of 5.5 with a score of 5.5 in each sub-skill. Which one to choose? ...Although I have intermediate B2 English and speak it, I don't feel confident about doing both, but I'll have to study hard and take it on.
If your grammar base is solid then going for PTE sounds like a reasonable choice, but since IELTS is asking for 5.5 as an overall and on each band I feel that IELTS may be the winner in your case. For both tests you will have to prepare and study, remember to give yourself time so you are not taking the exam in a rush. All the best with your test preparation😃
What an inspiring episode with a good ending and invaluable lessons. 1. Friends will be friends! 2. There is no "I" in the word Team. Thank you for sharing beautiful parts of the country and giving an update my friend! Good luck with your goals, You've got this!!
