No. What’s more dangerous for a motorcycle is letting yourself be at the whim of whoever’s stopping behind you to brake in time by not being on their phone or being distracted. Filtering ahead almost completely prevents a motorcycle from getting rear ended. Bikes need to be proactive and draw attention to themselves to best prevent accidents, and one of best ways to be proactive is lane filtering. Lane splitting also isn’t any more or less dangerous than riding normally so long as the speed of the motorcycle is within about 5-10 mph faster than the traffic around them, like any other car in the passing lane. It also lessens traffic by putting bikes in space on the road that would be otherwise unused, letting another car or truck take the bikes place in the lane.

Grew up right by there. I don't know how much hiking you'll do there without trespassing 😂 but it is a nice place. It used to be really popular in the area in the 70s , 80s and 90s for swimming/sunbathing. Not so much anymore. At least not like back then. You could hardly find a parking spot.

Oh, and the biggest thing I hate is, I almost never get tips. I’m a friendly, not overly chatty, safe driver, drive a nice car, it’s clean, good AC, offer to charge phones if needed, etc.. It’s tacky to have someone drive you over an hour and not at least give $3 tip. Who raised these rude, inconsiderate people? I ALWAYS tip at restaurants or Uber if the service is good.

The things I hate the most are: smelly people, people talking VERY loud on the phone, not being ready, and farting in my damn car.
