For me, the funniest part of the episodes is that it just ends, abruptly. Usually right as Carl is getting the brunt of whatever the group was cooking up.

The Lorax’s production history sort of reminds me a lot of what happened to The Super Mario Bros. Movie. If you look at the conceit art, you could see that the movie was initially going to be way more faithful to the games (in terms of designs and locations), and there were plans to have way more content that is not present in the movie (like Bowser’s Koopa Troop being way more diverse instead of just spamming Koopa Troopas and other basic enemies, as well as Yoshi having more of a role than just being in a sequel bait post credits scene). My best guess is that the movie was going to be way more in-line and respectful to the Mario IP, but instead they took the lazy route by having it be a generic nothing story, the characters being either flanderized or incredibly generic (Bowser is the worst offender of this), have the characters have off putting overly detailed redesigns and have them being played by celebrities that sound nothing like the characters, and shoehorning in countless mediocre references to artificially make the movie seem better than it actually is.

Gotta admit though, the humor in Carl is usually what a scumbag he is lol.

5:08 As far as production goes, it was basically a 22-minute Neutron episode and a 22-minute Fairly OddParents episode stiched together, so every scene in Retoville was handled primarily by the Jimmy Neutron team. The only "hard" part (according to Butch Hartman) was that one scene where Jimmy and Timmy had to shake hands.

I think my favorite episode is the one with the spider in the attic, voiced by greg universe 🤣

I attribute the Aqua teen movie to the assasination of 2d animation at the box office and I love it. Very in character

ATHF is basically the premise of some awful 70's Hanna-Barbera cartoon, but told through the lens of Gen-X cynycism. Instead of being a crew of upstanding crime-fighting detectives like some Scooby Doo knockoff, they are middle aged roommates trying to put up with eachother. Their base is not located in the heart of an idealic metropolis like the Super Friends, they live in a dingy New Jersey suburb. Carl isn't some wacky sidekick to their adventures, he is an overweight sex pest slob who doesnt want anything to do with them or anyone else. Etc.

I feel like the writers just wrote plot points then the actors just ad lib it all then they animate around that

Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Brak Show, and Sealab are all great, but ATHF is legendary.

The "Hand Banana" episode is cursed and aged horribly but I still love ATHF. It's the greatest show ever created by Mooninites.

What if I told you there was a second movie

Seinfeld can pound rocks, ATHF is the only real "show about nothing". In fact, I only remember it in brief flashbacks to my 11-16 year old self when someone says a random phase and I Winter Soldier myself back onto a couch in 2009 at 3:24am confused and basically still asleep, wondering if I'm still dreaming or watching TV... It's been 15 years and I had no clue they were sentient food mascots. I never even questioned the premise, I just got real stoned and accepted that it was real

Imo, the cell animation in the Aqua teen movie (and the show in general) doesn’t get enough praise. C Martin Crocker killed it with the animation stuff, I’d 100% recommend getting the dvds and looking at the extras related to the art, sketches, and animation. Literal eye candy

My absolute favorite ever-running gag of ATHF is the intro and most external material presenting the team doing epic stuff yet in-show they never do any of that stuff in the absolute, I love the idea of that
