Never tried but I think it's possible. You can find the method in this video on Maxon RUclips channel: "Cinema 4D Particles: Explore with Vladislav Solovjov - Demystifying Post-Production - Week 2". At 01:04, they show you how to transfer object's color or texture data to particles.

Bạn vào Project Setting: từ Edit > Project setting hoặc nhấn Ctr+D, Sau đó ở góc dưới phải sẽ hiện ra Project setting. Chọn Tab Simulation > Scene > Chọn CPU

With R26, you can find Balloon setting inside Cloth tag. have fun

Is it possible to use the cinema 4d particles system as a basis?
Yes, you can do it indirectly by using Cloner to clone objects to particles. Then apply Pyro onto the Cloner.
