0:52 Guys I need a response, is this what we call a "layout picture"? I`ve been strugling a lot whith the meaning of that word for his similtude whith storyboard or "just rought animation that wasn't being colored jet" Also, your demo reel is so cool! I recomend you to also put the social media on the description of the video so people can insta call you instead of manually looking for your media
Thank you for the point outs!! I’ll be sure to add my links, and for the layouts layout means a bg in animation production pipeline terms it’s what would be animated on top of in the industry. Just think of it as another way of calling it a background drawing

First of all , thank you so much for showing your portfolio, it looks amazing ( I'm jealous of your figure/gesture drawing skills ) I've been thinking on going to Sheridan, maybe next year, and i need to know if there are any Scholarships for Sheridan Animation ? If yes do they cover thinks like food, dorms and stuff ?? I've been searching for them but I can't find any and I really... REALLY need them O___O !!!
Yes there are scholarships for animation but I wouldn't bet on it covering much, they are quite hard to get and have little coverage, on average only just a few thousand at most. but if you are from Ontario you can apply for an osap student loan which is the route I'm going atm! It is covering my entire tuition, But I do have to pay back the money I owe in the future!

I was 18 on my first application!
Thanks for this video it's been very helpful lately as I'm preparing my portfolio for my first time applying to Sheridan and I have a question. When you weren't accepted the first time did you just take a gap year or go to a different art school then transfer? If you transfered what was the process like? I'm trying to look at all the angles and decide which would be best for me if I don't get accepted this year.
I took a gap year to prepare for my portfolio, and also sheridan doesn’t really transfer everyone starts on the same page! I have a few friends that transferred their mandatory English credit though and that’s about it, sheridan doesn’t transfer art credits

THIS IS SUXH AN AMAZING PORTFOLIO!!!! it’s one of my favourites by far,, question, did you have some kind of mentorship or tutor that helped you guide through your portfolio making process? And if so what kind >< ?? I would love to know!
@@jollyranchrrrs9478 GAHHH TYSMM!!! To answer the tutor question, not really i didn’t get any mentorship because of budget😔😔 I mainly got help from current Sheridan students, art friends, and the Sheridan hopeful server! I highly recommend asking around for advice when working on the portfolio! Having multiple eyes/perspectives can help spot mistakes and potential improvements to make in ur pieces!! although if you have the money for mentor ship I highly recommend taking it. A large amount of people that get in have taken tutors from what I’ve seen ! working solo is a hell in of itself I wouldn’t recommend it at all 😭😭 Tutors I personally would recommend are, aureole studios and animation portfolio workshop (APW). Many successful applicants have taken these courses!! hope u the best of luck if you are planning on applying!! And ofc if u have any other questions feel free to ask me 🤝🤝🙏

For Sheridan portfolio, can all of it be digital or are some required to be drawn on paper?
For some sections like the hand and figure drawings, they must be done on paper. other than that you can basically submit all digital drawings if you like.

for anyone struggling to open the file after you download Click the file and when microsoft asks you what program you want to use to open it select " more apps" and then find osu and select it. that should fix the problem most including me have been having
