What is the most important cubist art work for you? Let’s discuss here in the comments!
It could be argued that they were not 'fearful' of such art but 'disgusted' by it. Either way, they were foolish to try and destroy it. If they were so sure they were right, they could have kept it and let others decide for themselves.
Yes Good point. But they did fear creative free thinkers, that is not people you want in a dictatorship, it’s a threat to it.
Nothing will change in the Art "market" because it isn't really a market at all. It is an international money laundering and tax evasion scheme. If you try to introduce any sort of accountability, the entire thing will collapse.
Yes it is a remarkable wild wild west. But all these new digital tools empowers the artists so I am convinced that things can and will transform even though it’s slow and the pushback is strong. A lesser dependence on the big institutions will have this effect, even though we can see just a glimpse of it.
Oh please! Enough already with the captions. I can hear you! No need to speel out each word. If I needed captions, I would click on CC. Outta here.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the captions.💙Many that are not native English do find them useful and it actually generally increase views of the videos.🙂The auto cc is often very low quality. But all feedback is welcome and interesting.👍🏼🤗
@LeapArtTV I also think it very much ruins watching the video. It works on short videos but longer videos like this are normally watched with the sound on so seeing words the whole time distracts from what I'm actually trying to watch. Also, you can make your own captions that will be shown instead so they aren't bad like the auto captions.
@@funkybit6857Valid point, thanks! This pop up style was a bit of an experiment, might go back to our normal subtitles since it obviously not working for some😊👍🏼
@@LeapArtTVplease use normal subtitle instead of flashing words. It's disconcerting.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, let’s do that🙂🙌🏼
Do you like Hockney's earlier pool paintings or do you prefer his later landscape paintings? Share in the comments, let's discuss!
Who is your favourite neo-expressionist artist? Comment below!
Also interesting to elaborate on is the Frankfurter Schule. An ideology that promoted abstract art very much to try to estrange people from what they found beautiful in art because of a specific reason.
Yes that's very true, there's so much interesting sub topics in here to explore. More to come here!
Very interesting and the blockchain has so many honest and safe solutions. The thing is, when it comes to an artpiece like this one of 20 million, than it’s not about the art anymore but about avoiding tax and inflation of their money. The biggest thing in art is that it’s completely subjective. There just isn’t a conclusion to be made whether it’s good or not and should cost like that. I don’t think this will change. No one wants to loose their money especially not rich people. They will do anything to keep it shady like this. It serves them. So they will continue buying it. Good subject to make a video about. Go on. Put it out there. Are you living in Switserland?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate your insight on the complexities of the art market-it's definitely a topic that deserves more exploration. Not in Switserland but the country American's often mix up with it; Sweden :)
@@LeapArtTV😅 aha Sweden! I’m living in the Netherlands
Really well done.
Thank you, glad you found it interesting!💙
Which of her paintings resonates with you the most? Please share in the comments, would love to know!
"My child could paint that!" Ma'am, you raised your kid with an I Pad and now he is a vegetable. GTFO here
His Art is amazing 👍
Yes indeed it is. They are iconic works👍🏼
but The gallery is not the only one who benefits from media attention. The fair benefits, the artist benefits and even the buyer benefits, because his otherwise perhaps unobserved purchase of art now increases the value.
Zora !!!!!!
❤️
It's one thing to misspell "loser" in an internet comment, it's a bigger issue when you misspell it in a thumbnail.
Hahaha, you are right about that, I changed it now, thanks for the heads up! I will say to my defence though that I am not native English but Scandinavian, and I am running a one man show here: from scripting to editing and thumbnail design. So I am doing ok I would say and very proud of my little art channel🙂
@LeapArtTV it's an Excellent channel and you do a great job. I wasn't trying to be mean. I'm glad you were able to fix it. Loved your Rothko video.
Gee whiz at least show the art that you are talking about!
Thank you for your feedback! In this video there is a mix of both, and it's basically sometimes a matter of getting the story or editing and researching for many days. As an artist I'm sure you know what I mean. :)
The face is well rendered although I don’t find a strong resemblance. The rest I find rather garish and out of synch with the face and sausage fingers.
Yes I agree, the face of King Charles is the strongest part of this painting. And the butterfly :)
What's you take on Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven and the Fountain? Share in the comments what you think about this fascinating destiny.

Excellent video, concise, informative and inspiring.
So happy you found it interesting, Thank you!💙
What period in the history of art is your favourite? Share in the comments, I'd love to know!
Lovis Corinth, last president of the Berlin Sucession, fits the bill. I much prefer his earlier work prior to 1911 as it was tighter in construction although some of his later work was very forceful as it was painterly. Käthe Kollwitz is associated with die Neue Sachlichkeit although she preferred not to have her work categorized. Her drawings and etchings were especially forceful such as Woman with Dead Child. Her sculptures are equally moving. If I am not mistaken Felix Nussbaum, a victim of the Holocaust, was not included in that infamous Degenerative Art show. However, he was influenced by Otto Dix and Max Beckman.
Thank you for this insightful and interesting comment! Btw I will publish a video with more on Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven👍
@@LeapArtTV I am looking forward to the video. She was a fascinating personality.
Very informative and insightful. Thanks for sharing

great video
Thanks, so glad you liked it!💙
Do you have a favourite expressionist artist, from the beginning of the 20th century or even from the post war era? Let us know of you have a favourite artist not mentioned here!
According to some historians it,s Barones Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven who made The Fountain and not Duchamp
I did not know this take, very interesting, Thank you! I’ll look into it! So many male artists have tiden credit for art made by women, Camille Claudel/Rodin, Picasso/Jacqueline Roque etc etc.
1. Duchamp CLAIMED these were "ready mades", but he crafted the urinal. 2. Dada is a modernist, not post-modernist, school.
Yes his ready mades we’re almost all constructed in some way by him. But for his contemporary audience this was as ready made art something could be at the time, compared to what could be seen in exhibitions. You are of course absolutely right, dada is a modernist movement, nothing else.
What do you think about Duchamp's art? Brilliant or a scam? Would love to hear your opinion in the comments!
What we think of art in the "modern era" so to speak, is little more than therapy or posturing. Art has nothing to do with "personal expression" or style. The function of art is to commuicate a comprehendible message to convince the viewer and as a result manipulate their behaviour or beliefs usually for the benefit of the commissioner of the art. The message might be something along the lines of look I am rich, or I am virtuous or here is a religious story to keep you in line. Nothing wrong with art as therapy but what motivated say, Michelangelo or Carravaggio and say Monet or Van Gogh and those that followed are world's apart. It is important to acknowledge the distinction. The beauty and realism of the earlier part of art was a tool to convince the viewer of the message. No point in challenging the viewer to have to first decode the language before they can recieve the message. Everything post Duchamp can mostly be flushed down the toilet. Contemporary art lies in advertising because that is what the history of art before duchamp was all about. Adverts (and propaganda) are designed to convince people of messages contained within.
@@TheCompleteGuitarist Very valid point about about the purpose of communication of art, even though I don't agree that the impressionism with Van Gogh belongs in this category since that movement very much was about personal expression and interpretation of the subject matter. But just of curiosity if I may ask, the gradual change in the "purpose" of art to what it is today, do you think it makes it less valid or important?
@LeapArtTV I think monet and van gogh are some of the first exploring for personal reasons rather than to commission. The industrial revolution gave rise to more free time (leisure) and better readily available materials.
Do you like these big art fairs or do you prefer small galleries?
Do you have a favorite among these art pieces? Share in the comments if you found one of these pieces more interesting, I'd love to know!
Have you ever visited Art Basel Paris? Do you prefer Paris or Basel for the Art Fair?
Bloody awful narration, use human beings, that's who you're talking to, not some robotic audience. Are his paintings a secret or have you just got a paint brush fetish?
Lovely portrait of the KING face is beautiful
I agree!
