In the late sixties the VW bugs seemed to ubiquitous. The minimal engine power caused all the owners to wind the engine out to what must have been the redlline Rpm ( if they had tachometer (?) ) .When stopping at stop light due to the minimal front end overhang made possible by the rear mounted engine ,they would stop within inches of the bumper of the car ahead of them.They all thought themselves very wise for buying a cheap car with good fuel economy. I found them a bit off center and am almost sure they all became Democrats.

I heard Irwindale Speedway is finally closing thank God he does answer our prayers. I used to live in Duarte this was one reason why I moved out of ca. But I'm so glad my friends and neighbors don't have to hear that damn noise all night

I've said the same thing on a couple of other videos. During the past two years, Drag Strip and Speedways across the country have been getting close down. We should be out there fighting to keep racetracks alive and prevent them from being destroyed. Those guys and girls are just out there having a good time and they're not hurting anybody. It's time for all Stock Car Racers and Street Racers to fight for the place's that they call home. I'm still trying to figure out what caused people to suddenly hate NASCAR, it doesn't make any sense. In a couple of the states, they could build some new racetracks with four lanes and an oval track for racing. However, the government doesn't seem to care enough to want to spend their money to help out the Stock Car Racing community. It's only a matter of time before they decide to come out here and decide to close down the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, our country doesn't need any more industrial parks being built on racetrack sites. Irwindale Speedway was featured in the opening scene of Fast 9 in 2021, and there was a picture of Vin Disel at the racetrack that was taken during this past summer for 2025's Furious 11.
