One of my favourite acrylic pour flip cups
Просмотров 5956 лет назад
Here’s another pour from several months ago I just found on my camera. This piece became a triptych which I mounted in white float frames and sold to a customer who has medium purple coloured walls! Amazing. Before I started this video, I mixed all paints with floeteol, a little water, and silicone. Then, I layered the paints in the small cup, first white, then: purple, green, neon green, aqua ...
Greens and blues dirty cup flip cup acrylic pour that took over the canvas

Here’s a pour from several months ago I just found on my camera. I started this pour thinking I’d get some green and blue on a white base - but clearly I used too much paint in my dirty cup and the colour took over. Sometimes that happens! This was fairly early on in my artistic journey, and luckily I’ve learned a lot since (and because of) these types of pours! Here are my takeaway tips from t...
How I Apply Varnish to my acrylic pours
Просмотров 3346 лет назад
In this video, I use Liquitex high gloss varnish, a wet sponge brush, and a sewing needle. The needle is how I remove tiny fibres or hairs that have made their way into my piece. The camera stopped recording abruptly due to the battery dying, but all I did after this was cover it with a large piece of sign material from a sign printing shop, and wait! Feel free to ask me any questions and look ...
Nikki’s First Geode Pour - acrylic pouring glass crystals
Просмотров 22 тыс.6 лет назад
In this video, I try a geode pour for the first time, and then following the video I worked the piece too much and now it’s in the garbage (but I was able to save the canvas 😂) Now that I watch the video I can see exactly where I went right and where I went wrong 👍🏼 Materials: - Windsor & Newton acrylic paints mixed with floeteol and a bit of water. There are a ton of paint mixing videos from p...
Not the Greatest Dirty Cup Flip Cup 😹

When you see the end result, you’ll know why I named it this! This was one of my first pours where I started to really “get it”, and my paint consistency and process haven’t really changed much. But, the quality of my paints, colours, and my compositions have changed a great deal. This is my take on Pours done by AnnMarie Ridderhof - check out her videos she’s amazing! Watch me create two of the three pieces in this triptych: Cheerful. Every pour is an experiment. This is how I do mine, sometimes :) This is my take on a technique developed by Ann Osborne - check out her videos she’s amazing! Nikki Applies ArtResin for the First Time
Просмотров 3256 лет назад
In this, my very first art-related video, I experiment for the first time with ArtResin - a product I was terrified to try, but I’m so happy I did! Facebook.com/nikkispracklin etsy.me/2CMdrf0 nikkipaintsandeats
Is that dry at the end?
What do you use for cristals and where do you get them
Just seeing this question sorry! The crystals are glass and they’re from Michael’s craft store.
What size canvas you use?
This was a 16”x20”
Hi Nikki I was wondering if you do any videos on how to apply the high gloss varnish? I love your work by the way amazing!!
Nice
It came out so pretty!! Can you please tell what paint you are pouring at 3:33 or what did you mix it with? It looks beautiful!!
This was just glitter and pouring medium! Sorry just seeing these comments now!
I kept listening to it over and over until I cried!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MUSIC!!!!! What is it? PLEASE!!!! AND THE PAINTING WITH THE GLASS!!!!!!
Beautiful 👌
Ein superschönes Ergebnis. Sehr schade, dass nicht gezeigt wird, welche Farben wie in den Becher kommen!
My first geode looked like a 4 year olds art project lol, you did wonderfully <3
Nikki!!! Very nice !!! Congrats !!! One question ,, The stones , crystals and all the glitter that you add ,, did you put some kind of glue in it ??? After it dry, you will varnish??
Capistrano Decor the stones dry into the paint!
Really nice Job !!! How did you put The gold paper ? Did you use some kind of glue?? Next you will varnish it ??
Capistrano Decor nope! The alcohol inks will dry and hold the gold in place. Then I apply a bunch of coats of varnish in a few weeks.
Thank you
gorgeous colour combination Nikki how much silicone to you use in half a cup of paint mix?
Tracey Starr currently about one drop or less!
thank you
Love ❤️ thx Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
This is unbelievable. Do you have an Instagram? This is beyond gorgeous- teach me your ways lol
Jessica Thomas thanks! Https://instagram.com/nikkipaintsandeats
So beautiful ❤️❤️👍🏻🤶🏻🎅🏻❄️
What made you think to use the torch? I have used a damp sponge, but does the torch help with anything? I hate varnishing!! I just bought Liquitex Matte varnish and I'm curious how that will look.
Ann Osborne I hate varnishing too (clearly!) as for the torching, I just thought “air bubbles” “torch” 😂😂😂 and it worked! Can’t wait to see how the Matt varnish looks, keep me posted!!
Did you use glue at the begining??
Please let me how the stones can stay there?? With glue or just with the acrylic paint ?? Love your art !! I want to learn !!! Bravo 👏👏👏👏
It’s not glue but it is a pouring medium, thanks!
Hoje, recebi um lindo presente , ao descobrir, através de mestres tao competentes, os ensinamentos, dos quais necessitava urgentemente. Estou extremamente grata.
Marli Benevenga I’m sorry I don’t understand :(
how thick ghouls I make my paint/medium recipe?
Beautiful!! Do you have white resin or just acrylic paint in the squeezy bottle?
Edie Wood thanks! Everything you see here is paint - I only use resin at the very end of my process to protect it - weeks later!
Nice ;)
Super toll geworden. Schöne Farben grandiose Zellen. Lg aus Österreich
Love the colors!
MadeForYou Art thanks!
These are so gorgeoussss! Can't believe they have the same colors yet each has a different outcome. Love!
Debbie King isn’t it wild how that happens!?! There’s a third piece that looks completely different again!
Beautiful that lime green looks great!!
Wandering Art thanks so much!!
Nikki~ I’m just grateful you still posted this. Sometimes I’m so hard on myself when I mess up feel like a failure. Showing that everyone can experiment AND make mistakes actually helps new artists like myself. You are very talented! It was beautiful!!! Rhonda
Rhonda Wilson thanks Rhonda - keyword “was” LOL oh my you’ll see me mess up a lot if you stay tuned to my channel 😂 thanks for watching!
really love the pieces in this video! lately I've been digging negative space pieces!
Wandering Art yep! Loving the negative space lately too!
I'm really sorry there's no talking in this video, and the music might be loud, please Mute it if you don't like the music, and read the caption for more information on the supplies I used - thanks!
your paint so sparkling ,do you add glitter in paint ?
SuperMysavior I added some glitter to some mixing white and floeteol for the very light parts yes :)
I am so sorry for bothering you I am just newbee and want to learn how to do it. Where is better or cheeper to buy floeteol ?
I live in Northern Canada and floetrol is expensive because I have to buy it online ($25/bottle). Depending on where you live, HomeDepot carries it for under $10 bottle - but that's in the US. Where are you located approx.?
alaska
SuperMysavior ok you’ve got the fact that you’re in the States going for you! Try Lowe’s, or Home Depot or even amazon.com :) let me know how it goes!
its beautiful ,but I wish you put all materials you used :(
SuperMysavior thanks for watching! I’ll put the materials in the comments if it helps :)
yes please :)
art resin is amazing! Are the coasters made with ink i haven't tried any ink mediums but i love the way they look!!
They are alcohol ink and then gold foil pieces tapped directly onto the wet ink :) I'd recommend a respirator!
these colors are beautiful!! My first Geode did not go as planned either but they are so fun!!
Aw that’s too bad! This one was terrible, looking back but you’re right So FUN!
Nikki, I am a new subscriber. WOW! You have some serious talents! These are gorgeous pieces. Have you thought about a RUclips channel? Oh wait... LOL! If you get going some more maybe I could do a bump to get you some viewership? I really really need to learn epoxy much better.
Hi Carl, thanks! I recorded 2 more videos on the weekend: 1. Applying ArtResin to my geode from pour #2, and 2. Varnishing my pieces. What is some good editing software? Or can I just upload them as is? I TALKED in these ones so look out hahaha
