    These are all very smart and achievable ideas. Now to convince my partner to downsize the streaming services we have...

    I 100% agree. My husband (of 6 years) and I have a joint account for our mortgage, house bills, groceries and for our cat🐈‍⬛ that we both put money into when we are paid. Then we have our separate bank accounts for everything else. I would never fully combine my finances with anyone!🙅🏻‍♀️Im always working hard to make more money myself & get salary increases each year🖤💶Love earning my own money & having my own savings and financial security.

    Love how succint this is, and not the norm ideas for no buys! Front loading 401K, forced no buy is brilliant! I have done no buy years several times and still was taking notes, thank you!!

    I'm doing a no-buy January (at all - I plan to literally EMPTY my cupboards/freezer before I buy anything!) and I'm already nervous haha. Going to the shop to buy £15 of stuff I really don't need has become a daily habit for me to the point I get quite fidgety if I don't go! Also wow. I don't have a 401k, but your contribution is basically my yearly income after tax lmao, so I guess that one is out for me haha.

    Love the video, just have one thought tho - isn't a financial year running from April to April, so basically 401K contributions are back loading as Jan-Mar is end of this tax year.

    • @ItsMckenzieMack
      @ItsMckenzieMack День назад

      401k contributions are based on the calendar year, however you can still contribute to an IRA through the tax filing deadline for the previous year so that might be where the confusion is :)

  • @coachjkmcleod
    @coachjkmcleod День назад

    The strategy of front loading is super helpful

  • @jennybanana2296
    @jennybanana2296 День назад

    A very clever approach is to make the majority of your 401 contributions at the beginning of the year in order to be more flexible for the remaining months. All in all, very realistic goals, thanks for sharing!

    So happy you're making longer format videos on RUclips! One of my favorite things about your videos on Instagram is that you DO NOT talk unnaturally fast. There are so many videos these days where people talk distractingly fast and edit their videos to make the audio and visuals go by way too quick. Your videos are soothing, relaxing, informative, easy to digest, and very pleasant to watch and listen to, so I'm glad you're expanding with RUclips! I super appreciate all the work you and your partner put into your content. Top tier, easily!

    I think it’s easy to loose your self meaning sometimes in a relationship ….20years can go by and you never learned to do certain things he only handles it or she only handled it …that was me….then one day I was thinking what if he gets up and walks out on me and my kids or dies…how will I support myself my kids….how will I learn to pay bills under such pressure or just whatever, I went back to school am doing what I love helping with supporting my family my husband and I do all 50/50 while I am saving for my own retirement…I think Mackenzie you have some pretty good advice here with or without qualifications. People REALLY need to think about this stuff ….woman and men both alike. You need to be able to stand on your own two feet.

  • @minabetty6477
    @minabetty6477 6 дней назад

    I wonder what qualifications you have to dare to tell people how they need to manage their life and couple? Can we be fine with this attitude already, everyone complains about mansplaining, but this is a tendency that most people do men and women, we in today's world think way too much of ourselves and it's tiring!!! Chill the F out, live your life the way you desire and let others live theirs

    You'll be alone for life, because the man you want doesn't care about the things you care about. Good thing you already have the cats. And telling women to make a hidden bank account? You're embarrassing. Any man finds out she's hiding money to run from him? She will be immediately using it, cause her crap goes on the lawn and the locks get changed. Be a woman instead of a feminist. Men aren't playing this game.

    • @ItsMckenzieMack

      Being alone isn’t scary and men aren’t a prize 😂 seems like the only way a woman would stay with you is if they were forced financially.. kinda embarrassing 😅

    Hi Mckenzie, Quick question. For the 401k your putting in 482.09 a check, that would leave you about 10k short for the year. Do you add more in the beginning of the year?

    • @ItsMckenzieMack
      @ItsMckenzieMack 10 дней назад

      Yes I frontload at the beginning of the year so I can have larger paychecks the rest of the year :)

    100% depends on the interest paid and roi on investments made instead.

  • @Pops2
    @Pops2 16 дней назад

    And the beautiful amortization table that is so favourable to the consumer. Most are divorced or upgrade their homes within 7 years of purchase, so the interest front end loaded loan , if no extra payments are applied, is a bleek thing to discover.😢

  • @TomCee53
    @TomCee53 16 дней назад

    You’re ignoring the interest payments that you’re not making if you pay off early. For every extra dollar paid on the principal, you don’t pay interest on that for the rest of the term. It’s not as simple as you make it sound.

    • @LoganRyan.

      Every dollar you put toward your mortgage saves a fixed amount in interest, but every dollar invested has the potential to grow exponentially. Why settle for capped savings when you could aim for compounded growth?

    • @TomCee53
      @TomCee53 16 дней назад

      @LoganRyan. the loan interest rate and investment yield differ. It's really depends.

    • @ItsMckenzieMack
      @ItsMckenzieMack 16 дней назад

      It is that simple for low interest rate mortgages - you could lose out on hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest just to save a fraction in home interest
