Best Things To Do In Yachats, Oregon (TOP 10)
Hey dude, my family is heading here in a few weeks and I had wanted to ask for a recommendation. My son (13) was an advanced skier for his age but switched to snowboarding last year. We got a couple weeks in last year and he progressed well and while at breck he loved the kensho lift. We spent a lot of our time boarding the blues over there but he hasnt stopped talking about hiking up the bowls since we left. I'm an expert snowboarder but unfamiliar with the high alpine terrain as those kind of runs are reserved for dudes trips for me. What bowl can I start him on that includes some hikes? No chutes for him yet lol. Thanks!
I dream to live next to a mountain like this
Very informative video about the island especially Soufriere. I do agree that soufriere does need a bit more t-shirt shops etc. I can’t wait to start my e bike hire and glamping business there later on this year. Wish me luck😊
Thanks going next week & now ill be able to cover more terrain. Notes from video; No quicksilver chair lol. Ill be going for Mercury, Freedom & Kensho yeeeee
Cry.
Thank you! Very helpful!
Happy to help!
Cool! I won't be visiting this dump!
This is a perfect primer for my upcoming trip! Peak 10 and the 6-Chair seem like my kind of skiing. Any advice on how to get to the Falcon Superchair quickly for someone staying in town near the Gondola?
The convenience of being near the gondola might just make that the best option. But then just knowing it will take you a few runs to get over to Falcon. (Colorado Superchair -> Echair -> Falcon). Or depending on where you are exactly, you could still take a bus to the base of Peak 9 or Beaver run to get there that way. And for all of Quicksilvers annoying aspects it really is the simplest way to get to Falcon.
The list is winter-focused. But, there is plenty do to in the summer too. Breck resort turns into an adventure park which includes lift-served downhill mountain biking (no green trails), an alpine coaster, a slide, scenic lift ride, hiking and several other activities. Plus, the town of Breck has a wonderful bike path that connects with the nearby town of Frisco and all the way up to Vail pass (start at the pass if going that far). Breck is also close enough to other places like Keystone or Frisco Adventure Park with snow tubing. Don't forget the Troll hike.
Breck is probably one of the _best_ resorts for learning to ski/snowboard. Why? Exceptional progression - especially at Beaver Run/Village (Peak 9 base) area. The green runs off QuickSilver are very mellow and just long enough to feel like real skiing - but aren't an endurance run. Breck also offer several magic carpets for first-timers and a learning hill for those ready to focus on technique before getting on the first full run. If you can make it down the last dip on Red Rover with full control - you are ready to ski the blues. With that, Breck has some pretty easy blues at the top of the Beaver Run lift (Bonanza and Cashier) - great for lapping to gain confidence while maintaining control as an advanced beginner or early intermediate. With a bit more confidence, you can have Peak 7 all to your own (no greens). Plus, since Breck has terrain for everyone, if you have more experienced skiers/riders, they can hit the advanced/expert stuff and still have a great time. I'm still an early intermediate, so I can't comment on much else. I will say that Schoolmarm (green) at Keystone feels like a Breck blue in parts (near Peru lift especially). I would do Bonanza at Breck before going for Schoolmarm. Also, Schoolmarm and most greens at Keystone are an endurance run. Ski run ratings are resort specific and even within the same resort a "green" can be anything from a nearly flat cat track to almost a blue.
Imperial Chair is only sometimes open and there is only expert/advanced terrain - no intermediates or beginners. It's also hard to reach since you have to take 6-chair or the T-bar.
It's 6-Chair or T-bar, but yes thank you for providing some extra context
Just came over from instagram. Subscribed❤
Thank you so much for sharing that!! Very helpful content :)
You’re welcome, happy to help!
great video!
Thank you
Thank you for visiting our humble city 🙂

Welcome to India
Love snd best wishes from India.
Very nice video
Thank you 😄
Great ❤
This is the resort that made me quit riding at resorts.
Hahaha, we’re keenly aware of the negatives of mega resorts. So I wouldn’t blame anyone looking for a different experience.
As a beginner skier, Breck is one of the best resorts because the lower part of the mountain is relatively flat - which is good when you are just learning. Breck has some of the best progression possible for beginners: 1. Bunny slope carpets - probably too flat for anything practical but it does allow someone to put skis on and slide about 10 feet - then take an Instagram photo. 2. Learning hills - these are platter lift learning hills that are a bit steeper than the bunny slope and a great place to really focus on the basics with a few dozen yards to work with. The one at peak 9 is easier to access. As a dude, I hate platter lifts. 3. QuickSilver greens. Start with Silverthorne (but go around 10 Mile Station instead of the steep dip near the chair lift exit) then Kings Way for the easiest way down. 4. Silverthorne/Frontier all the way down - including Ballet Hill (moderately-steep hill near the end) 5. Greens off Rip's Ride (can be really bad in icy conditions) 6. Greens off A-Chair 7. Greens off 5 Chair 8. Red Rover, including Little Harry's (steep dip at the end - basically like a blue). Instructors at Breck use Little Harry's the test for when a student is ready for a blue. 9. Bonanza (blue) - less than 1/3rd is really a blue the rest is basically a green - first blue run to try 10. Cashier (blue) - also pretty easy for a blue but has some parts that are slightly steeper than Bonanza Both Bonanza and Cashier are rated a blue at Breck but would be considered a green at Vail or Keystone. I haven't skied anything beyond Bonanza or Cashier - going down both I kept thinking Schoolmarm (green) at Keystone was harder. Another awesome resort for beginners is Beaver Creek as it has a green "bowl" area (McCoy Park) and a relativity easy green trails from top to bottom (Red Buffalo, Cinch, Haywood). I feel like most YT videos are expert oriented. Most experts suffer from beginner amnesia where they forget how hard it was to learn.
For sure, I can see that side of it!
thank you!
I ski breck a lot and still enjoyed this. I agree with virtually everything he said. Nice graphics overlaying the trail map to focus on talking points!
Thanks so much, it was maybe one of the most time consuming edits for that reason. But I’m glad you got value from those graphics!
Your videos about Breck are just the BEST!! I will be there in a couple of weeks and it will probably help me a lot!! Thank you!
Have fun!
GREAT VIDEO! Best one i've seen so far about Breckenridge! 👏👏👏👏 and I have seen a lot of them! 😂😂😂
I appreciate the love! 😄
Hi, your video is very well quality and informative. I'm trying to plan a trip in 2nd week of April this year with my family. I know the weather is not gonna be as nice as summer, but still want to see if it's a deal breaker, or worth adventuring?
I don’t think that should be a deal breaker. It’s basically sweater weather in the summer anyway. You might not get as much sunshine, but the moody weather is also part of the beauty of the Oregon Coast. So just embrace it!
lovely video. thank you
You’re welcome, we’re glad you enjoyed our take on Astoria 😄
Wonderful video ❤
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😄
Super helpful! I’m going next weekend and this was exactly what I needed, very informative. Great work👌🏼
Thanks, have a fun visit
what beach is at 7:01?
It's not really at a beach. It's a popular rock jumping spot on the West side of the island near Ciceron, we've only heard it referred to as Cinderella Slipper or Lover’s Rock. It's best reached by boat, probably any boat tour operator in St Lucia will know where it is.
Love this intro! We need to make something similar-so jealous! 😀 It's funny you say "we make mostly travel videos" here. We've had kind of a similar experience on our channel with our truck camper. People REALLY want to know about it, and we're like, okay, here's a couple videos, but we're traveling now, come watch THOSE videos. 🙃
I glad to hear someone can relate! It's hard to make campervan content if you aren't actively building a van, unless you just want to show people around the rig for the 100th time. But I think ultimately we realized that vanlife was always about what it allowed us to accomplish, and not the van itself. Thanks for the comment.
👍
It's Fantastic!!!! Don't Forget The Pacific Trail......
Thanks for the addition!
Did you rent the car for the entire time or just when you left the all inclusive?
Great question. We only rented it for after we left the Sandals. It was actually surprisingly convenient. We rented with SiXT, and they delivered the car to the Sandals in the north of the island. Then we used it for the rest of our trip, mostly around Soufriere. And then were able to return the car right at the departures terminal of Hewanorra Airport in the south.
@@tworoamingsouls fantastic! I am looking to do a very similar 2 week trip. first half at a resort and the rest exploring around.
it's Never, Never Will-a-met river..... it correctly pronounced " WilLAMmit river
Thanks, we’ve been told 🤭
Prettty I love your videos glad your back ❤❤❤
Thank you 😁
Where did you hide the homeless?
Lovely vlog. Was this on a weekday or weekend? And what was your month of travel? :)
Thanks for the comment. We visited in January 2023. We did the Trang An boat tour on a Saturday and the Tam Coc boat tour on a Tuesday. Which makes sense because I would say Trang An felt more busy with people and big tour groups.
What is your day job or what do you do for work to afford your travels? This was a great video. Thank you!
We make income from a couple of things. This RUclips channel and our blog: tworoamingsouls.com (ad revenue, affiliate sales, and brand partnerships) And then we also work seasonal jobs mostly in ski towns in the winter (barista, ski industry, etc). And living in our campervan for months/years at a time helps keep our cost of living down.
@@tworoamingsouls That's super cool. Thank you for your detailed response. Your family inspires me!
very nice video and good information
Thank you!
I really enjoyed your video! Great filming, great vibe, super informative! Subbed and best wishes!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it 😃
11. Go to blockbuster😂
Hahaha, we did hear about that. We’ll have to make it next time.
I preffered the beachfront at la toc more than the grand, absolutely loved la toc
Thanks for the perspective. When we visited, the ocean was a little rougher, so the water at La Toc was kind of turned up. But the protectedness of The Grand kept the water clearer and more enticing to swim. So that's probably what's shaping our opinion.
@tworoamingsouls i like active waves but the biggest turn off was stinky seaweed at the time we went
Wow , I am impressed; amazing. I am a ST. Lucian living in the U.S and browsing through some videos about ST. Lucia, I came across your video. You're just like an ambassador to my country! Very impressed with how much detail you as a foreigner learned and know about my country. God bless you; as this is a blessing to the people of my country for tourism promotion.
That is so kind of you to say! We love St. Lucia and are always happy to spread the word about the beauty of the island.
She did an incredible job in showcasing our beautiful Island. Probably one of the most informative I have seen. Well done.
I have some questions I hope you can answer: 1. Are you allowed to give a range of dates? Or does it show you the dates available when you log in? If so, are the dates being snatched up and you have to be very quick? 2. Can you state that you will take just two nights instead of three or will you be able to see all that based on the calendar? 3. How easy is it to get on the early shuttle going in? Thanks for the excellent video. We went when it was call-in only, so not sure how the online works.
I would suggest opening an account, sign into the site, and practice trying to register for a permit yourself ahead of time. The entire summer inventory will be GONE in 5 minutes on opening day.......there is a web queue prior to opening time and then random draw for people to go select a date(s).......if you are very lucky you snag a spot. Think like getting Taylor Swift tickets. Most Lake O Hara youtube videos fail to mention the difficulty to get permits hence the place is not getting trampled to death (pros/cons to everything)
Democrats have destroyed Portland. The top best 10 thing to do in Portland Oregon to stay out.
Good coverage of the island but would like to see more about a lower budget trip. Not at all into resorts. Maybe sit on your hands next vid. 🙃
Thank you for the feedback. Around 10:10 in the video we cover more affordable places to stay! But yes, maybe we can put together a fun video about "how to visit St. Lucia on a budget". thanks for the idea!
Hi there, could you recommend 2 days of hikes in Yoho that include 8 - 10 km each day? My husband and I are experienced hikers in our late 40's, we did a trip to yosemite last year. We plan on going in april this year. Thank you!!
All our best recommendations are in the video! We highly suggest the loop around Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, Sherbrooke Lake, and Wapta Falls. Of course I'd suggest Lake O'Hara but I don't think it's open yet in April. You'll probably experience snow or muddy trails in April, but the views are always beautiful no matter the time of year!
Emelia Cameo!! 😍 Great video!
Super informative! Thanks!
Thanks for the positive feedback! Glad you found it helpful
I use a blow dryer instead of a oven it works very well love the video thanks for the ideas
That's a great tip, thanks for sharing!
Colarado wow
I guess you can see why it’s the state we call home 😍
