Jade Lake in Washington

@tworoamingsouls thanks for getting back to me. Loved your trip. I live in washington State all my life. I haven't been to Jade Lake yet. Been to colchuck and north cascades many times. Was just curious because was planning to go back to north cascades but due to fires I'm planning something else. Going to be at jade lake during the week and was curious about campsites availability during week. So seems like there were a couple campsites open when you got there at jade lake? Mid week.

@@str8boogerflikn102 honestly hard to say how campsite availability will be. There’s maybe like 8 good sites that we noticed. The best advice we can give is to avoid weekends (if you can) and start early in the morning so you arrive earlier than others.

@@survivor-ey1iq lol, people often do see bears on the edges I guess. But they tend to just keep to themselves and eat their berries..

thank you, the views from the river are spectacular. The river is located in Whislter, BC and flows from Alta Lake to Green Lake. It's a fun float trip if you get the chance.

Yah, honestly wondering why we don't do this more! It's nice to get a different perspective of the area from the water.

Yes, we didn't buy a glider but watched a bunch of people fly theirs! And yes, we rode the Trolley, such a fun way to experience the city.

Haha, love that you knew the boat! We only had a short time to fly the drone, per the town rules, so we were lucky the boat was going out to sea to capture a sweet shot.

It's really a diverse state, with the ocean, rocky cliff, and inland areas too!

Wooooo August is going to be really hot! So i would probably pack a little differently than our October trip. Definitely make sure you have plenty of lightweight sun protection and ways to stay cool. (a wet shirt always does the trick for me). I think it would be too hot for a campfire, so it's probably not worth the hassle of bringing wood. But then maybe bring something like cards for entertainment at night. Definitely plenty of dry bags to keep gear dry in case of a mishap.

Oregon is very cool! Every time we visit, we're already talking about the next time we will come back, haha.

You can paddle back, but you’ll be paddling upstream. Current wasn’t flowing too strong in spring. And from our understanding, the current does get lighter in summer, so it’d probably be easier.

The beauty of it was captivating!

We're not familiar with the museum. But we absolutely loved hiking around the scenery at Smith Rock State Park. It's like 30 minutes northeast of Bend, so we definitely wanted to at least include it somehow.

The river is pretty mellow, so I think it’s probably kid friendly!

You get a boat ride to the Glen Canyon Dam and then float all the way to Lee Ferry. There are many campsites in between! Drone would definitely be epic, but ya, not allowed in the Glen Canyon National Rec area. Epic trip nonetheless!
